Return to the period after completion of the semester. All teachers get the same holidays as their students. This is one of the advantages as a teacher. Getting a holiday is just like students who can have a long holiday. Unlike the office employees who have to take leave just to get a long holiday.
On this holiday, all the family members were already very happy. Because we're getting ready to go on vacation. Moreover, this moment only comes once a semester. When siblings and parents take vacation time off to travel.
"Are the kids ready? Will be leaving soon." Said my mother while checking if all the items had been brought.
"Let's hurry, long time, don't melt." My father's nagging while sitting in the front seat. Doesn't help bring anything but want the activity of packing quickly completed. If you want to hurry, help the cake. It's weird sometimes to do this one of my fathers.
As the oldest child, I must definitely help my mother pack. This time we brought a lot of stuff. Especially the change of clothes. Because we'll stay in Jogja for a few days.
My own clothes don't carry much. Because the clothes when I was in college were still in Jogja. This opportunity to go is also a great time to take her back. Instead of piling up in unused jogja and just become a gathering place for dust.
"Come brother, spout up. Let's meet you sooner."
"Come on up"
My two sisters Yana and Lamda asked me to quickly get in the car. They were both small so they did not help carry heavy items. But their spirit was also enough to make me energetic. After packing, I got in the car.
"Is everything done, son?" Ask my mother.
"Yes Mom, everything is done. The stuff's in the car."
Mom checked the stuff back in the car. Of course, we also check if we have locked the front door of the house. Do not forget the back door must also be checked properly locked or not.
"Well, let's pray before we go. Praying begins." I pray before I start the journey. Activities like this should not be missed. Because we won't know what's going to be on the road. We should strive to drive safely plus pray to the Almighty.
"Letting Maman"
“ready"
We used my car to go to Jogja. This family sports car Pajero is already our mainstay for long-distance travel. Small cars are used when driving around the city.
In the car there were 6 people. Maman and Maman in front. Mom and Yana in the middle. While I was with Lamda sitting in the back. While Arip is still in Jogja so he only waits at the destination to welcome us.
Along with a lot of luggage, we went to Jogja at night. The habits of our family, when going far away, must be the departure of night.
Because we usually just sleep and let the driver do his job. Then when you wake up, you get to your destination. But I as much as possible literate then listen to music with mobile phones that have been in the earphone plug in place.
The journey from where we went to Jogja was quite far. We had to take about 12 hours to get there. Especially if it is stuck, the longer the duration of the trip.
At the beginning of the journey I was still able to see the scenery on the road. Although bored once only see the monotonous scenery that's all.
Only music can reduce my boredom on the way. Because if while watching the video on the road, my eyes feel spinning and the head becomes dizzy.
The music I listen to is quite diverse and diverse. But usually I listen to songs from the country of sakura. I rarely listen to Western music or Indonesian music.
"Turn to minimarket blue man"
"Ready kang" with sprightly Om Maman immediately turn into minimarket.
Before entering the toll we usually stop by the minimarket “blue” first. Sometimes if the e-money balance runs out here, we go to minimarket “merah” as an alternative.
Certainly not the father who went inside to buy. I accompanied my mother to fill her e-money balance and shopping for travel supplies. As a good boy, I was the one who brought groceries for mom.
"The portal .. ma'am." Say the cashier while reading the amount of rupiah listed.
We got back to the car after mom finished paying. If shopping is too long, usually you ranting again why doang kok shopping for long. Me and the others can only laugh bitterly every time you talk like that.
When everyone sat down properly, we continued on our way. Let no one miss. It's not funny just because it's a hurry, until someone is left behind.
Funnily enough, the father even became interested in the streets when he turned old age. Once pas was young and strong, invited to walk even ogah-ogahan. When there is free time like now, it cannot go far because of age. I also see a father like that
But it's all the risk of the father because it is not maintaining health and still smoking despite being reminded many times. He has to take responsibility for the choices he makes.
‘Hopefully the journey to Jogja time smoothly without a hitch’ my prayer in heart while closing my eyes to sleep.
*A few hours later*
The car stops at the rest area to refuel. This is the opportunity I use to go to the toilet. Because I was traumatized when I asked to pee while I was traveling. When I stop at the rest area, I always go to the toilet.
This is also why I rarely drink while traveling. For fear of being stuck in the street and being scolded again. From childhood it was like that so I made a habit to avoid it. This is what is often described as trauma.
“ayo, anyone want to go to the bathroom?" I asked everyone in the car.
Om Maman usually uses the opportunity to stop to stretch the body then angle for a while. While I usually go to the toilet while driving father and Lamda.
The age of this father is already concerning, when on the road like this must be maintained. Worrying suddenly you fell unnoticed.
The road has begun to stagger. But even being held sometimes do not want to. So confused how to deal with this father. I just prayed a lot to keep you away from danger.
While Lamda is currently a child so that if not guarded, he is afraid he was kidnapped, lost, or exposed to other problems.
This stopping moment is also rarely done. Maybe only once a few hours. Sometimes stop if you want to pray or someone is just hungry to find food. In addition, om Maman swiftly always slide to get to the destination without stopping.
*Entering Jogja*
"Let's get up, son, come on"
"Hmm?.."
When we will soon arrive at Jogja. Mom immediately woke up everything in the car to prepare. In order for later when we get to Eyang's place, we can immediately change the bed. There is no need for drama when awakened from sleep.
Because usually all family members are difficult to build. Waking up before arriving at the destination has become a habit of this family.
At this time I have also been able to recognize some of the roads here. Because I went to college in Chicago. I don't feel like I've been back to this place, even though I haven't had a year of graduation.
Especially if you go through Magelang. I'm familiar with that place. Because I used to walk to this area. Remembering from the campus I can see Merapi every morning. It only took an hour from my boarding house in Jogja to reach Magelang.
Every time I go down this road I become nostalgic. This is my second time to go to college after graduation. The first time I came back here was when I took a test at one of the hospitals in Jogja.
"Thank God, we arrived safely" after being grateful to arrive safely. Slowly we all got out of the car.
First we put the father down first, so that he can immediately rest. Because he bothered later if he nagged when he got out of the car and we were still inside.
The road in my eye place is full of vehicle traffic, because it is located on the side of the highway. Many times cars pass by in this place. Let alone four-wheeled vehicles, sometimes tourist buses even pass through this place. It can be said to be quite extreme for parking in this area.
It became horrified when he saw the bus ride with our car parked on the side of the road. Because my eyes don't have car baggage. If every day parking a car like this, how the one who has a car can sleep peacefully.
"Assynogaic"
"Vaalaikumsalam. Thank you for coming, let's sit down first. Anyone want a drink?"
After we finished bringing down all the items, we immediately rested quietly. There is no way we go because we just arrived in Jogja. Maybe tomorrow we start walking around Jogja.
Especially with the age of the father and mother who are no longer young. We cannot force our way if their bodies have not recovered from the exhaustion of the journey. After all, there is still tomorrow, there is no need to force the streets right now.
