Ch. 50 SIM creation

“For car course exercise participants. The creation of a Driving Permit (SIM) will be done on the date.... Please prepare the necessary files and then go to the course place first. Later will be given further instructions.” That's the sound of the message that goes into my SMS phone.

The time has come for me to create a SIM A after completing the driving course. At first I thought the manufacture of the SIM no longer need to cost, it has been agreed with driving training. Turns out my guess was wrong, the cost of making the SIM was made separately. 

Inevitably, I had to re-spend some money to make it.

Before the day H arrives, I have to bring the files needed for the SIM creation. Just like when making SIM C, the conditions to be asked are not too different. Simply bring a ID card, a certificate of health, and other supporting documents. All of that should not be difficult to get but it takes time and cost again.

For example, for a healthy certificate, of course, we must go to the nearest health center and then pay a fee to measure height, weight, healthy information from color blindness, and other checks. It also costs money. Although not too big, not up to a hundred thousand rupiah. 

I heard a rumor that later during the creation or extension of the SIM, a new document is needed that is the result of psychotes. Whether it is true or not. If true, I think it is quite burdensome because it comes back again, of course the test requires a fee and is not free. I am very grateful that such a test can be free of cost.

I managed to complete all the required files before H day. Hopefully the SIM card will run smoothly. I haven't made a SIM in a long time. The last time making a SIM was when SMA used to be for 2-wheeled vehicles. How many years ago was that? 

*SIM* creation day*

In the morning I went to the tutoring. Everyone who wants to make a SIM should gather on the spot at 7 am. Because I'm used to waking up in the morning. It's not hard to get there on time. It's easy for me to do that. 

Up there, I also saw there are some people who will also make the same SIM as me. Not only fathers, there are also mothers who want to make SIM. It seems that nowadays it is not strange for women to be able to drive.

That's why I was surprised when I found out that some female teachers at school were completely unable to drive. At first I thought it was a strange thing, but apparently not all women can drive their own vehicles. Driving is usually a duty of men. 

But back again, it's all the choices of each person. We don't know, there could be someone who can't drive because of trauma. There are even those that must be handled specifically to overcome them. Trauma can happen to anyone and anywhere. 

After waiting for a few minutes, finally the officer from the tutoring place gave directions. 

“Bapak mother. Please go directly to the back door of the police station. Please enter through that door. Later stay to the SIM manufacturing room. Then they will be called one by one to take pictures. Everything's on its own vehicle, right? ” Hearing the explanation from the officer, we without much discussion immediately slid to the SIM creation location.

Everyone carries a private vehicle so there is no need for an angkot charter. 

*15 minutes later*

“Wah, quiet once” said while looking at the condition of the Police through the back door.

Usually in the morning, there are several police officers who carry out the ceremony. But judging from the hour that is almost approaching 8, the flag ceremony should have been completed.

Together with other SIM makers, we headed to the SIM manufacturing site. We were surprised because the place was still closed. Inevitably, we had to wait for the officer to open it first. The door we broke was forced. 

While waiting for the opening time, I spent chatting with others and reading some articles through my mobile phone. A few minutes after waiting, finally came the police who opened the door of the room.

At once we all followed the officer to enter the room. The officer also asked us to sit down regularly and fill out the form first. After the form filling was completed, one by one we were all called to enter the photo room.

I entered the room after my name was called. I see there's only two officers here. One admin and another photographer. Photos for the SIM should not be a lot of style, everything should be done in a formal position. 

The clothes I was wearing right now were jackets with shirts in them. It looks informal in the photo. It might be funny if I take a photo of SIM in a suit. Looks like another photo work trip deh. 

“Please sit here sir, face the camera. Hold position do not laugh and flat face.one, two, three, “

The officer checked the photos and asked me to wait to be called again for the SIM. After all the SIM creation process is complete. I have to go back and wait for the cards to be printed into the cards. 

When called back by the officer, I picked up the card and walked back to the parking lot. While walking, I noticed the SIM I got. 

“So, this is SIM A for car?” I said while looking at the SIM carefully.

The car is sized like a debit card and has a dominant color pattern of white and red. It looks like it's similar to our country's flag. Not to forget there is also a police symbol on the card. 

SIMs experience design differences over time. Last time I made a motor SIM, it didn't look like the current SIM A. The design is a bit different but the color is the same. 

Surprisingly, that same year I made SIM A. I also extended the SIM C. This is very profitable because it means, in the same year I can do the extension simultaneously. No need to come to the police more than twice in a 5-year period. 

It should make the extension process more concise, no need to go back and forth. But the bitterness of this also resulted in the cost of extension also increased. Both SIMs are extended simultaneously. It costs more than just taking care of one SIM at a time. 

After making sure the SIM A data is in accordance with the ID card, I immediately returned home because there was nothing else I had to do in this place. Of course, do not forget to extend this SIM for another 5 years. Repot later if you forget to extend and must return to take care of the SIM creation.

Because the SIM that is not extended will die so that residents have to make the SIM back. There have been several cases of people forgetting to extend so they have to repeat the driving exam. 

Arriving at home I rest and make sure that the teaching material is in order. Just practice how to teach in front of students. Because if you do not practice first, you can react later when teaching in front of the class.

Do you remember Rangga? who is troubled with the current principal of the school accreditation. With the employees who resigned, surely there will be new employees who came in to replace him. Coincidentally, the position of the empty Mr. Rangga has been filled by a new person.

His name was Aang. He came in based on a recommendation from Mr. Dani. Prior to this school, he had taught at the school before. More or less he also taught TKJ as well as myself. But for now, he works at the school as a TU staff.

The task that was previously held by Mr. Rangga now moved into the hands of Mr. Aang. It has a fairly high stature and has a rather dark complexion. He also used a mountain bike to school. I don't know why he used the motorbike in the suburbs. If you have played GTA games and know motorcycle sanchez, more or less that's the appearance of the motor pack Aang.

the bike is quite unique and I have never seen a motorcycle of some kind except when I see videos of people playing offroad with the bike. He also uses a Full Face helmet which is designed to be worn when people offroad on the mountain. Does he like to climb mountains?

Mr. Aang is quite friendly and likes to joke. Rarely can you be silent if there are two. Broadly speaking he is friendly and likes to joke like Mr. Dani. Most likely, if I don't teach. He will replace me as a teacher.

Because I still want to know, what kind of job other than being a teacher. Is it harder? Or is it easier? Only time can answer.
