The Colorful Work World

The Colorful Work World
Ch. 66 Ramadan & Eid

If you are a Muslim, you will certainly do different things when the month of Ramadan arrives. In this month, all the rewards are increased many times over, and sin is also counted in equal measure.

That is why at this time, many Muslims do good deeds in this holy month. Every year, the month of Ramadan always experiences a date retreat in the Gregorian calendar.

So if this year the fasting month falls in May. Next year, the fast will start in April. So next. Usually has a setback. As much as approximately one month the duration of fasting has decreased

When I was a teacher, I had never taught while fasting. But some occasions I did fast the Sunnah. Indeed, at that time the body felt weak but still able to teach well. Certainly at the time of fasting also the portion of talking when teaching me less.

Hungry and thirsty all day. When it opens, it feels good. If the fasting Sunnah alone is normal, it should not be mandatory fasting will not experience obstacles.

First time working as a programmer and fasting. I wake up to perform sahur. Because the location of the mosque in the rented area is quite close. Every Adhan reverberates, it must be heard in the contract. If you do not wake up because of the call sahur maybe because the night is too exhausted from work.

"Sahur, sahur. Wake up come sahur. There is still time before the attack. Sahur! Sahur!"

'sahoor is it?' I said while checking the time from the phone. I saw the clock showing at 3 am. If not immediately looking for sahur, then the hunt runs out of side dishes. Since I was looking for sahur side dishes outside the house, I did not want to bother cooking for sahur.

I've experienced it so much that I try not to experience the same thing. I immediately changed clothes and looked for sahur at a nearby dining area. This time I chose to eat in Padang cuisine.

"What do you want to eat?"

"Wrap rice with gravy and vegetables. Then the side dish is an omelet ma'am."

"Ready mas. Just a minute, yeah"

He quickly picked up all the food on order. My Sambel reminds me not to be added. Because I don't really like the spicy taste. After I finished buying food, I immediately returned to the contract to eat sahur.

Finished eating sahur, I play mobile phones while waiting for the morning adhan reverberate.

"Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar."

When Adzan arrived, I prepared to leave. When else can the dawn prayer be on time like this. Usually the bangunya bablas and do not have time to pray together. Finish performing prayers. I wash my clothes and rest first.

When the time came, I took a shower and then went to the office. If it's a normal day I'm looking for breakfast on the street, this time I don't have to. Because during the fasting month, we have to endure thirst and hunger from dawn to the Maghrib.

Arriving at the office, I went through the usual activities. But unlike a normal day, I was more limp from not having lunch and drinking coffee for today. Usually at office hours I drink a cup of coffee to make the eyes literate.

But this time I can only rely on myself to try not to sleep in the office. Usually at lunchtime I use it for a short break. Wake up when it is time to get back to work. At least this helps a little while working in the office from noon to afternoon.

During the fasting month, office hours also go home faster. You can leave the office faster than usual. I'm looking for takjil to break the fast first. This time I looked for him in a mall. There are many kinds of food and snacks that I can choose from. But it must be considered so as not to over budget, usually the price of goods in the mall is more expensive.

This time I chose to eat at one of the fast food restaurants serving chicken as their flagship menu, KPC. Besides chicken, I also ordered ice cream as dessert.

Just like me, some people are also waiting at the table to do iftar. While waiting for the opening time, I used to read some chapter novels. My phone this time is more comfortable to wear because it has bought a new one. It's not as slow as it used to be.

"Alhamdulillah"

Everyone who fasts says hamdalah and immediately does the iftar prayer. Then each person began to break their fast with the food they had prepared.

I ate the fast food in front of me. It is not healthy to eat foods like this. But if only for once. It shouldn't be a problem.

After eating, I immediately prayed in rented. Then immediately to the mosque near the contract to perform tarawih prayers. If I am not looking for a certificate outside, I usually open with a free certificate in this mosque.

Beres doing tarawih, I play for a while then immediately sleep at night to prepare for sahur tomorrow. More or less that's what I do during the fasting month in Tangerang. Rarely when fasting sleep too late because later must wake up for sahur.

Sometimes if I do tarawih at home because of work weariness. There is also a late apes carrying out sahur and can only be sahur with water only. More or less that is the liking that happens if you live alone in rented.

The highlight of Ramadan is the Eid al-Fitr holiday. At this moment, everyone took a sabbatical. All took a week off. Although the national holiday is only two days, most people use the leave they have for a long holiday. Because rarely the opportunity to go home this can happen.

I belong to this category too. We usually spend our Ramadan holidays in Jogja. This year we still have the opportunity to do it. With the formation as usual, we went to Jogja to carry out the Lebaran holiday.

*From day*

The position I am in now is in. Before Lebaran, we had been in this student city for a few days. We also had a few times to open together at a jogja restaurant.

Open fasting in Jogja has its own characteristics. Starting from the fast sahur time and breaking the fast is also faster. Until the road jams when the time ngabuburit. Many people sell takjil on the road and we live a little way must have found them.

Ngabuburit itself is an activity during the month of Ramadan to find iftar outside the home. It is usually called ngabuburit. Out of nowhere this term, but it has often appeared when the month of Ramadan comes. Because so many people do this.

Continue to the time of Eid, at dawn I pray as usual and then immediately cancel the fast. Because when Eid al-Fitr is recommended to drink first. It is different from the Eid prayer. Where should we fast before the Eid prayer.

At this time everyone in Jogja is busy to replace the bath and perform dawn prayers. This moment that I really hate because if you do not have time, usually the stomach feels full because it has not urinated. Especially when the ritual takes time to concentrate. It cannot be rushed.

When everything was ready, we set off together for the field. Usually Eid prayer is done if not in the mosque, yes in the field. In the field we do it on the field.

The women and men's prayer place was as separate as ever, so my mother and I walked in different directions.

"Allahu Akbar"

Different from ordinary prayer. Feast day prayers are performed with takbir 7 times during the first rakaat and 5 takbir on the second rakaat. In addition to these two things, everything is done just like regular prayer.

Since I am only a makmum, it is enough to follow the priest. When it was finished, the worshippers listened to the sermon before returning to their respective residences.

Until now I still wonder whether the eid al-Fitr sermon is the same as on Friday. Because if the Friday sermon is mandatory to be heard, whether the eid sermon is the same or not.

The Eid story is not over. There are still a lot of activities that I did when I left. Check my activities during the holidays in the next chapter.
