Ch. 106 - White Fox Mask
The dark hallway that looked like it was endless made Nagato and Litha re-nostalgic.
"As usual, this dark alley pisses me off!" swear Nagato in his heart while continuing to walk his feet towards the residence where Grandma Beo lived.
Demet and Devon had also just first entered into a dark passage like this. The two of them became wary because this place looked so suspicious.
"What exactly is this place?" demet asked Grandpa Hyogoro but there was no answer from Grandpa Hyogoro, because Grandpa Hyogoro was just silent and kept walking into the hallway.
"The water that keeps dripping makes me shiver.." said Devon who from earlier continued to observe his surroundings.
"This place is too stuffy for me." murmured Demet who walked over to Grandpa Hyogoro.
"I'm sorry, if this place is too stuffy." the sound of the chirping of Parrot 1 and Parrot 2 is heard, then the two birds perched on Demet's and Devon's shoulders.
Nagato and Litha chuckled as the two of them had already seen and felt something like this before.
"What's wrong with this parrot?" Demet asked - tanya looked at the 1st Parrot that perched on his shoulders.
"Looks like he can talk." said Devon trying to hold the Parrot 2 but the bird flew.
Grandpa Hyogoro let out a long sigh, as he was about to hear the insults from the Parrot on him.
"Tua Bangka, did you bring that khak?" Parrot 2 perched on Grandpa Hyogoro's head.
"Your face still looks ugly..." The 1st parrot flew around Grandpa Hyogoro.
Demet and Devon laughed at the sound of the Parrot chirping that mocked Grandpa Hyogoro. Nagato and Litha were silent.
"Eat this!" Hyogoro's grandfather threw a package containing seeds up.
"Thank you..." The flying parrot 1 gripped the parcel containing the seeds.
"Don't throw food, Old Bangka!" The 2nd Parrot flew in front of Grandpa Hyogoro's face.
"Hurry up between me, before I make you a bird burn!" threaten Grandpa Hyogoro with annoyance. Hearing that Nagato and Litha giggled.
"It looks good, I want to try cooking this parrot" said Litha looking at Parrot 1 and Parrot 2 flying above.
Nagato glanced at Litha who was laughing gigglingly, "Hmm. I haven't seen you one day laughing..." Nagato looked at Litha's face, "I'm sorry, because of me, you're like that."
Nagato stared at the bite marks on Litha's neck, then he let out a long sigh as he always felt guilty towards Litha.
"Nagato, don't talk about it in front of people." whispered Litha lirih because she thought Nagato was talking about the event where Nagato was hallucinated and almost snatched his first kiss.
"I'm sorry, but I'm always thinking." Nagato scratched his non-itchy head back while looking at Litha sharply.
Litha's red face blushed as Nagato recalled the incident, then Litha turned her face to the side.
"I guessed it, Litha was angry with me." Nagato's inner self saw that Litha was unwilling to look at him.
Arriving in a room large enough, where the room was filled with goods and weapons. On each side of the room were hundreds of free-flying parrots in the large room.
"Hyogoro, this is a mission detail from the Minami Nobles." said Grandma Beo who offered a golden letter.
"These two disciples have grown up, Old Grandma Bangka.." sneered Grandpa Hyogoro held Nagato's shoulder and touched Litha's fine hair.
"Nagato, you're very handsome now and your boyfriend is already looking so pretty too." Grandma Beo looked back at Nagato and Litha.
"Huh? A boyfriend?" sahut Nagato and Litha simultaneously, then they both stared at each other before throwing their faces aside.
Hyogoro's grandfather chuckled at Nagato and Litha's reaction.
"These are two people who want to work at your place." Grandpa Hyogoro said to Grandma Beo, his hand pointing at Demet and Devon who were surrounded by Parrots.
"They are quite skilled as assassins, but humans are also like a knife. If you never practice and hone your skills, then the ability itself will be dull." Grandma Beo replied paying attention to Demet and Devon.
Grandma Beo was quite observant of her eyes she could see the person's skill just by observing him.
"When becoming a swordsman do not feel satisfied first, because science has no limits. Above the sky there is still the sky, most people who become warriors are satisfied and do not remember how their struggle when becoming students." added Grandma Beo closed her eyes and gave encouragement to those in front of her.
Nagato was surprised to hear Grandma Beo's words, he felt grateful to be able to meet all kinds of people in this world.
Demet and Devon are silent about Grandma Beo's surprise.
"I have to train again, the fight with Nagato made me realize. In order not to quickly feel satisfied first, my once sharp killing ability can even be dull from being defeated by a 10-year-old." Inner Demit looked at the floor of the room and contemplated his life.
"We're going to split up here, see you later." Grandpa Hyogoro patted Demet and Devon on the shoulder before leaving the room.
"See you uncle. Come back to me when you two are strong enough" Nagato said with a faint smile.
"I should have said that" Demet and Devon replied simultaneously.
"I was getting stronger by then" Nagato said as he followed Grandpa Hyogoro from behind.
Litha bowed slowly before leaving the room.
"Nagato, wait for me." cried Litha after Nagato.
Nagato just remained silent and continued to step his foot out of the room.
Outside of the Ancient Ruins City, Grandpa Hyogoro had Nagato and Litha wear white fox masks until the work that the Minami Nobles had given them was completed.
"This mask suits you Litha." praise Nagato looking at Litha's face covered in a white fox mask.
"You also fit Nagato," Litha smiled back from behind her mask.
The journey to the residence of the Minami Nobles in the Southern Province began.
