Nagato Kagutsuchi: The Dawn

Nagato Kagutsuchi: The Dawn
Ch. 108 - White Fox Mask III

After liberating the village under the control of the mayor of Kumori City, Nagato resumed his journey.

"Officers but how it works are like bandits." Nagato murmured at the bright sky that stretched over there.

"Nagato, you were angry that they were after me, weren't you?" litha asked deliberately she wanted to know Nagato's true feelings.

"Not really" answered Nagato briefly as he walked back up his legs.

Litha was silent for a moment before catching up with Nagato and Grandpa Hyogoro. In his heart he clucked in annoyance, because Nagato was being indifferent towards him.

On the way to the residence of the Minami Nobles, the three of them met with a nuisance that did not hinder them too much.

As time passed by, Nagato saw that there was a large city before him.

"It was Chikuwa City, Chikuwa City was the Capital of the Southern Province" Hyogoro's grandfather explained to Nagato and Litha.

The city of Chikuwa was a large city, and there was the trade center of the Southern Province. But for the past seventeen months, merchants who wanted to come to Chikuwa City were hampered, because they had to pass through Kumori City first. Ever since the new mayor took office, Kumori City has been like a bustling city closed to outsiders. And a lot of rumors if there is the headquarters of the Demon Worshiping Sect.

"Litha, get Chibi to deliver this letter" said Grandpa Hyogoro to pull out a golden letter and silk cloth that looks so soft.

"Chibi.." said Litha calling Chibi, shortly Chibi came out of her backpack and approached Grandpa Hyogoro.

Hyogoro's grandfather tells Chibi to kiss the cloth, without waiting any longer Chibi runs towards Chikuwa City.

"We'll wait near the city gate." take Grandpa Hyogoro to Nagato and Litha while stepping foot towards Chikuwa City.

In front of the city gate, there were several large trees that looked like small gardens. Nagato sat down and leaned against a large tree nearby. Litha followed Nagato and sat down beside the young man. While Grandpa Hyogoro stood looking at the city wall that towered quite high up.

The three of them waited for a long time, it did not feel like the afternoon had arrived. The sun was about to set to shine on the night.

"I am most upset by the name of waiting." Nagato murmured in an unsettled tone. He lay on the grass that grew around the tree he had been laying on.

As the sky grew darker, Chibi came carrying a thirty-five-year-old man who came with his guard.

"Welcome to Chikuwa City, Mister Swordsman." said the thirty-five-year-old, Minami Kazuo.

"I'm sorry, because I made the three of you wait, please follow me." Kazuo asked Nagato, Litha and Grandpa Hyogoro.

Slowly the three of them entered Chikuwa City, a city that was very crowded even though seventeen months was already deserted by merchants who came from outside the city.

The eyes of Nagato and Litha widened to look at Chikuwa City, they both looked at the splendor of the buildings in the Southern Provincial Capital. Nagato did not expect to see a city so crowded even according to him, Chikuwa City was more crowded and magnificent than the cities he had visited such as Fusha City, Mikawa City, and many others, Helai city and several other cities.

"In the world there is a city bigger than this, I want to grow up and be adventurous." muttered Litha looking at the magnificent buildings to her left and right.

Nagato smiled at Litha who looked so happy, not how long Kazuo had taken the three of them on the same horse carriage as him.

The view of the townspeople led to the three people wearing white fox masks. Because the three of them look so flashy.

"Sir Master Hyogoro, what do you think the situation of Kumori City is like?" kazuo asked looking at Grandpa Hyogoro sharply.

Hyogoro's grandfather stroked his chin with a long sigh, then he told her if anything went wrong with Kumori City. Because on the way to Chikuwa City, he met with the subordinates of the mayor of Kumori City who controlled the village which is still included in the Kumori City area.

"Rather than being called an official, maybe I'd rather call him a robber or a bandit. Because a mayor must think of his people but what does that person do? He closed the trade route and kept Kumori City closed from the outside for seventeen months?" grandpa Hyogoro replied in a vexed tone.

Kazuo was speechless listening to Grandpa Hyogoro's reply, he also felt strange about being invited to come to Kumori City. Kazuo got the invitation letter from the mayor himself.

"I also felt that something was strange, so I hired a swordsman." Kazuo replied as he massaged his forehead.

Nagato and Litha observed the conversation of Grandpa Hyogoro and Kazuo. Just as Nagato closed his eyes and thought about the villagers he had saved, Nagato was afraid that when he was in Chikuwa City, the imperial warriors would come back to the village.

"The world is a place too cruel for me?" naagato recalled Demet's words to him. He was also the end - the end thinking about his next life move. Nagato wanted to be stronger than he was now, so he always had a hand against the Beast Hewam and Demon Beast in the Cakrawyuha Forest. But all of this did not satisfy him.

The opportunity on the mission this time was the perfect time to gauge his strength. When he heard the rumors that the Demon Worship Sect was based in Kumori City, Nagato's blood boiled because he wanted to try to fight the leader of the Demon Worship Sect.

The riot created by the Demon Worshiping Sect was enough to make Nagato growl, as he had seen the group's cruelty many times.

The horse-drawn carriage entered a very spacious residence, probably in Chikuwa City where the residence of the Minami Nobles was the widest.

"Bigger than Uncle Shugo's house." murmured Nagato saw the luxurious and magnificent mansion before him.

When the horse carriage stopped, Kazuo invited the three of them to get off. Then Kazuo led the three of them into his house.

"Nagato, this house is very big." muttered Litha looking at the magnificent building that is none other than the residence of the Minami Nobles.

"Yes" answered Nagato briefly with both of his hands that went into the pocket of his robe. He stared at the magnificent house from behind his mask.

Kazuo invited the three of them into his house, he had prepared a special room for the three of them. Even he had also had his maid cook a sumptuous meal for the three of them to eat.

Slowly Hyogoro's grandfather Litha and Nagato entered the Minami Nobles' house.
