Ch. 282 — Despair II
Raido accelerated his footsteps. The power of lightning that helped him move quickly made him easily chase Nagato and the others.
“You won't be able to escape!” Raido smiled grinningly at the surprised look on his face Nagato and the others.
“Mother..” Iris turned her head to look at Shirayuki who was lying on the ground. He can't think straight. His anger was unleashed to kill Raido.
“Do not rush!” Raido hit Iris' stomach at high speed. Then he lashed a back-to-back punch at Iris.
Nagato again moved against Raido as much as possible. But he can't do much. Raido did not hesitate to land hundreds of blows that made Nagato's body drenched in blood.
Litha tried to give off an aura and mana. But his body is weakening. There is no more energy left. Raido continues to punch Nagato and Iris.
“Raido! Kill those who try to escape! I'll finish them all!” Ignist flew in the sky in the form of a Red Dragon. He soon returned to being human before landing on the ground.
Raido looked at Ignist who was seen enduring the pain. It crossed his mind to kill Ignist but he was not a fool. Ignist's strength was far from what he had expected. It was still too soon to fight Ignist and show his fangs.
“Alright, I will finish off the people who are not dead. Especially the people from the land named Rakuza and Kinai. They can't entertain me at all.” Raido used his lightning power before disappearing.
Ignist hardened his skin and looked at the faces of Nagato and Iris who had just been tortured by Raido. In one swing of her hand she aimed at Iris's face, but Litha threw her sword at Ignist.
“Don't kill them!” Litha yells. He realized by looking at Ignist alone his body could not stop trembling from fear.
Nagato and Iris stood up trying to get away from Ignist. Soon Ichiba, Hika and Tika freeze Ignist's body to buy time. It didn't take long for Ignist to break the ice that was holding his body.
“It looks like you guys are so stubborn!” Ignist picked up one of the scattered swords. Then he quickly swung the sword at Ichiba.
“You go!” Shouted Ichiba. At first glance he saw Hana who was carrying Hanabi's body.
“I'll buy time!” Ichiba started to play his sword. But not until he exchanges attacks with Ignist. Ignist's sword thrust through his stomach.
Hika and Tika cry. The two twin girls moved based on anger. Of course, this situation is increasingly filled with despair.
“Stupid!” Ignist was about to cut off Hika and Tika's heads, but Shin and Mujin desperately shook off his scythe-shaped sword to make Ignist a young swordsman.
“Bibi Ichiba's wounds are not deep, we must stop bleeding..” Litha deftly tried to help Ichiba. Hika and Tika quickly turned to look at Litha.
“Dragon, my mother..” Iris bit her lower lip and stared intently at Ignist.
Nagato turned to look at Shirayuki who was being helped by Hana. There is no way out to get from the capital Daifuzen. Nagato realized this. The same feeling that he was unable to do much when Kazan destroyed his happiness and took away his loved ones, now the figure of a person who had almost the same strength as Kazan was standing in front of him.
“You guys stay away from here! Think about getting out of this place! I'll make way for you guys out!” Mujin screaming. Although he himself could not do much when Ignist just silently accepted his attack.
Shin and Mujin continued to lash out attack after attack on Ignist but the body that was as hard as the skin of the Beast King, Dragon, from the power of his Holy Spirit made Ignist just shut up and stared intently at Shin and Mujin.
They return to Shirayuki's place where Hana is being helped. That long night never ended. Nagato gnashed his teeth at the sight as soon as the body lapped. Pieces of body even blood made his eyes and nose start to get used to this scene along with this pungent fishy smell.
But every time I hear screams. Nagato's heart felt tight. Seeing hundreds or even thousands of faces filled with despair made him even more immersed in the black puddles of deep hatred.
“This suit of your mother, Fuyumi Iris. Looks like I can feel the wind change in this bright night sky.” Hana could hear the sound of a fairly loud animal.
Hana looks at the injured Ichiba. But he was surprised to see Litha who could give first aid to Ichiba.
“What this war will not end... Are we going to die here..” Tika sat down limply holding Ichiba's hand.
“What ironic. When this country is led by an irresponsible leader, we are desperately protecting it. Now we're gonna die at the hands of a stranger. If hope and magic really exist, then quickly stop this massacre.” Oichi is also desperate because of the baby in his womb. He never thought his life would be like this.
“Iris, are you okay? Your wound is severe..” Litha touched the stomach of Iris who was hit by Raido.
Iris herself felt tremendous pain. His bones were crushed and broken, but he tried to stay standing.
“I'm fine. Litha, you're really reliable. You always encourage us. I will live as long as you stay by my side.” Iris hugged Litha and cried as she pleased. The cold beautiful girl was also fragile as this fiery night melted the ice wall of her heart.
Nagato worked his breathing and tried to gather energy, but his body was no longer able to move as he wished. He looked towards the sky and turned to look at Shin and Mujin from a distance.
The bloody night scene was horrifying as the howls from Vendom in the Werewolf form echoed. Likewise with the Black Rhino rampage in the form of Black Rhino.
“Iris, Litha, I'm sorry.” Shirayuki muttered softly. His thin lips spit out blood as he coughed softly.
“I should be able to use the power of the aura bestowed by you well..” Shirayuki still felt annoyed at not being able to do much when fighting against Raido.
“It's okay..” Litha wanted to call Shirayuki her mother, but she was unable to. His hand touched Shirayuki's hand.
While Iris held the other hand of Shirayuki. Shirayuki's injuries were severe as her internal organs were almost destroyed. Luckily, Hana sees Shirayuki lying in the distance.
“Imacquired Elder Hana..” Shirayuki turned to look at Hanabi who was deathly pale in face.
“Did Hanabi also get injured due to their attack?” Shirayuki panicked because a talented young swordsman like Hanabi did not deserve to lose his life in this battle.
Hana smiled wryly and explained to Shirayuki that Hanabi had inhaled a large amount of sulfur gas smoke. Hanabi's body had weakened. Although Hanabi had time to process the Cakra Breathing but Hanabi has not mastered the breathing that comes from the Kagutsuchi Clan. Hana herself was already very desperate when she learned of Hanabi's internal injuries.
Hana guessed that when Hanabi was exposed to smoke from sulfur gas, her second child was hit by Karakurt's blow coated with a hot aura mixed with deadly sulfur gas.
Nagato, Iris and Litha looked at Karakurt and Black Rhino who were standing on top of a tall building. Both of them seemed to be enjoying the slaughter they were doing.
Nagato clenched his hands as he could not do much to stop this battle.
