Ch. 122 - Ashikubi Thief Headquarters
Five days had passed since the battle on the Weeping Mountain. Namida along with several Weeping Mountain School warriors went to the Imperial Capital of Kai, the Capital of Daifuzen.
Namida wanted to meet directly with Ten Elders Kai. The Crying Mountain was an isolated place in the Kai Empire, other than the Kagutsuchi Clan and the Ten Elders of Kai no one knew of the existence of the location of the Crying Mountain. The attack by the Demon Worshiping Sect made Namida suspect the Ten Elders Kai.
After recovering his strength for two days Nagato has now recovered. The journey to the Me Region was unfettered. The three of them went to Granny Beo's place before Nagato and Litha were entrusted to the place of the thief who used to be Grandpa Hyogoro's subordinate.
As usual Grandpa Hyogoro divided his reward money into three parts. As usual, Grandpa Hyogoro used Nagato's money to buy his favorite wine.
Nagato never complained in the slightest about Grandpa Hyogoro's habits. Today Nagato and Litha will be left behind by Grandpa Hyogoro for a year.
A settlement surrounded by hills and forests. This place is called Ashikubi.
Hyogoro's grandfather explains to Nagato and Litha that he will be away for a year.
"Dorobo!" grandpa Hyogoro shouted as he knocked on the door of the house that looked like the warehouse.
"Whisper! Do you want me to kill you!" shouted the twenty-year-old young lady from behind the door.
"Boss!" she was shocked when she opened the door of her house.
"For a long time no see, Dorobo." Grandpa Hyogoro said to the woman named Dorobo.
"Your head hasn't seen you in a long time!" sumpat Dorobo from the heart while staring at Grandpa Hyogoro sharply.
"What do you need to do here. I'm not a babysitter. Who are these two?" Dorobo stared intently at Nagato and Litha who were wearing white fox masks.
"They're both my students. Here I give wine to you." replied Grandpa Hyogoro while throwing wine and giving it to Dorobo.
"Alright, the two of them can stay at my house." Dorobo replied after receiving a bottle of wine from Grandpa Hyogoro.
Hyogoro's grandfather invites Dorobo to go outside for a while because he wants to talk about Nagato's identity to Dorobo.
Hyogoro's grandfather told Dorobo at length about Nagato, from his escape pursued by Kazan and towards the Cakrawyuha Forest. He told his outline about Pandu's youth because it was likely Nagato would make Dorobo a hassle.
Dorobo drank wine while listening to Grandpa Hyogoro's words without cutting off his words in the slightest, he could understand about the nature of the child not far from his father.
"Boss, the whole Kai hates Pandu. It is certain that Nagato already knows the ins and outs of his father's past." said Dorobo as he sipped back his wine.
Grandfather Hyogoro drank his wine while smiling wryly a few times before he smiled widely.
"You know that Pandu is a genius but he is too stupid." Hyogoro's grandfather told Dorobo. It was obvious that Grandpa Hyogoro had enjoyed wine so much.
"Stupid? Whatchu mean?" Dorobo frowned at Grandpa Hyogoro's words while picking up Grandpa Hyogoro's wine bottle silently.
"The "guide is the one who is most afraid of his name to lose. Since childhood he lost his mother, since then I heard the story of Grand Master Sura.." said Grandpa Hyogoro was restrained and his face was very moody.
"If Pandu is very traumatized by the incident." he added lirih.
Dorobo gulped before gulping back his wine he was curious about Pandu's past stories.
"The guide will kill anyone who dares to touch his friend or his family. At a time when he is like that, in my eyes Pandu is a person who does not care if he loses his life, as long as the person he loves is safe then he will calm down." Grandpa Hyogoro drank his wine while laughing loosely remembering Pandu's face.
"Only a fool does not love his life. Escape is also a strategy in fighting, for me running away does not always mean a defeat." said Dorobo after hearing the words of Grandpa Hyogoro.
"I see Nagato has the same nature as Pandu. When Litha gets hurt Nagato will change his personality, I'm sure it's not just Litha, anyone who has become her friend Nagato will protect her.." added Grandpa Hyogoro.
Dorobo was silent for a moment before staring at Nagato and Litha who were fighting with his men who were becoming thieves.
Hyogoro's grandfather explains to Dorobo about his passing for a year, about his departure which will investigate the headquarters of the Demon Worshiping Sect spread across the mainland of the Ezzo Continent.
"Well I'll take care of these two boys but don't expect me to take care of them like a normal parent" Dorobo said as he stood up and patted his pants.
"I've never felt the affection of parents, so I can only teach them both how to kill and steal." Dorobo added before leaving Grandpa Hyogoro.
Grandfather Hyogoro got up and walked over to Nagato and Litha who were fighting against the thieves.
"The two of you are staying here today, your grandfather will be gone for a while" Grandpa Hyogoro told Nagato and Litha.
Nagato did not answer Grandpa Hyogoro's words because for Nagato there are people who want to take care of himself already profit.
"Where's he going?" litha asked with glazed eyes.
"Grandfather just wanted to leave for a little while. After returning later, your grandfather wants to see you two become strong and after we meet again you two will follow the tournament." replied Grandpa Hyogoro smiling broadly as he stroked Litha's hair.
Litha was silent after listening to Grandpa Hyogoro's reply because she thought Grandpa Hyogoro would leave her with Nagato.
"I'm going to win that tournament. Litha's living with the****** this isn't bad either.." Nagato told Litha as she glanced at Dorobo with her thief members.
"Who did you say ********! Rancid boy!" dorobo shouted to hit Nagato.
"Prophe boss after all this rancid boy is a student of Hyogoro Boss." one of Dorobo's men named Saru tried to calm the curly-haired woman.
Hyogoro's grandfather laughed at Nagato who was still calm. Before Grandpa Hyogoro left Nagato and Litha he gave Dorobo money.
"That's my money." Nagato muttered looking at the money that Dorobo had in his hands.
Dorobo sends Nagato and Litha into their home, a house commonly referred to as Ashikubi Thief Base.
