Nagato Kagutsuchi: The Dawn

Nagato Kagutsuchi: The Dawn
The Dawn 6: My Ancestral Land

Sunlight began to burst through the clouds and emit its rays.

Inside the small hut, Sura was lying weakly. Panda and Chibi were crying hysterically.

Nagato listened to Sura's explanation on how to cure her curse. The only way to cure her curse is to have sex with the owner of the Goddess's Incarnate Body. Nagato himself learned this from Emi and Shinigami.

The two chatted for a long time, until Sura finally told Nagato that his age would not last longer.

“Nagato, do you have a dream? Do you have any wishes?” Sura looked at her grandson's face full of anxiety.

“I want to find happiness. Maybe I was inspired by every action of my sister. But I was the worst person ever. Even to this day I am filled with ambition rather than dreams.” Nagato took a deep breath. Right now that Sura was already lying weak, the grandfather who had the last goal of passing down the Kagutsuchi Clan knowledge to her would immediately leave her behind.

“Dream, I will make sure my sister's dream is not something worth laughing at. I'll see for myself the place of the legend that Litha wants to see..” Nagato began to tell her a little of his wish.

Nagato wants to be happy. He wanted to find the meaning of his life. His childhood was not beautiful, so Nagato thought he wanted to feel the warmth of the family and would not let his family feel the same as him.

“I want to know the reason why my ancestor Kagutsuchi Clan died. Why foreigners kill my family.” Nagato stared at Sura long before asking, “Kakek, can you tell me a little bit about Kagutsuchi Mugen?”

Sura closed her eyes and began to tell if Mugen was a good person. Her brother is a great dreamer. It's just that Sura never thought Mugen would become a vile criminal that the whole world feared.

“Even one of his former subordinates killed your father. Kazan was a member of Mugen in the past. I don't know what's going on between them. But Nagato..” Sura looked at her grandson who was listening to her story, “Do not let your mind, your body is taken over by the curse. I don't know for sure, but Kagutsuchi is a family of humans who have had promises in the past.”

In the past Kagutsuchi was among the five human families who carried promises. Determination, a dream that is constantly being passed on to the future.

“Nagato..”.

“Ya.”

Sura looked increasingly weak. Even Nagato held onto his wrist. His grandfather's pulse was getting weaker.

“Never betray your friend. No need to have many friends, although a little as long as they accept you as you are then it is enough.” Sura said to Nagato with great difficulty. Then he took his breath before trying to touch Nagato.

“I want you to know the reason why Kagutsuchi promised. Learn about this world and be on top, Nagato.” Sura touched Nagato's hair.

Sura smiled and collapsed under Nagato's arrest. Sura exhaled her last breath after passing down the knowledge of the Kagutsuchi Clan to Nagato.

“Grandfather, I will master the science of the Kagutsuchi Clan that you taught me. And I will survive longer than anyone, no matter how sick it is.” Nagato laid Sura's body to the bed before going out to tell Panda and Chibi.

Outside, Panda and Chibi cried because they had first learned about Sura.

“Panda, Chibi. We go.” Nagato immediately put on a Hound-given jacket. While Sura's body was wrapped in white cloth.

Nagato carried Sura's body in front and directly rushed towards the Sun Valley. His ancestral home, the Kagutsuchi Clan.

___

Sunsets. On the shadowy red horizon of a young man carrying the body of an old geezer walked over the expanse of land, with his sword neatly sheathed at his waist.

Nagato buried the Kagutsuchi Sura in the Sun Valley at his request. Even though his grandfather had just died, not a single tear dripped from his eyes.

“According to your request, grandpa.” Nagato touched the mound and closed his eyes, “I buried you here. Our family residence, Kagutsuchi.”

Nagato had not expected the residence of the Kagutsuchi Clan to be so vast. But it is now a valley used as a burial ground for victims of bloody night massacres.

“Chibi, do you remember the people who killed innocent residents in Roshima City?” Nagato stroked Chibi who laid her body on Nagato's lap.

“Seven Deadly Sins? I always hear your talk..” With her eyes looking radiant, Chibi looked at Nagato. The day was getting darker, so Nagato sat in a place away from the cemetery and made a bonfire.

“I'll kill the Seven Deadly Big Sins in place of my sister. Right now I am going to meet Grandma Beo and look for traces of the existence of the Demon Worship Sect.” Nagato stared at the bonfire that was swaying from the night breeze.

“Nagato, I'll come with you. Maybe I am a human animal, but I can also fight.” Panda looked at Nagato with a pleading gaze.

“Panda, you don't have to dirty your hands. We have been friends, but.”.

“Nagato! I know the outside world! I've killed dozens of humans I'm nothing more than a murderer! So let me be your friend, don't bear it all alone!” The panda cut Nagato's words and stood up while looking at Nagato with both adorable eyeballs.

“I understand.” Sahut Nagato is short.

Chibi notices Nagato and Panda before actually falling asleep on Nagato's lap.

“Someone should do it. Someone has to dirty his hands.” Nagato held her hair and pulled it back.

“Killing people like them, then we reduce crime, Nagato. At least no one else was the victim of their cruelty.” Panda responds to Nagato's words.

“Yes, I get it, Panda. But in the end my actions are tantamount to ego and revenge. Once killed still kills. There is no reason for false virtue. Killing thousands of people, and some people consider the killer a hero? How laughable! If there is such a world, then everyone is vying to be a killer!” Nagato let out a long breath. Then he placed Chibi on the rock before gesturing Panda to follow him.

Nagato and Panda made their way to the golden inscription in the Sun Valley. There Nagato saw the moonlight shining on the gold inscription, there were carvings of ancient languages. But Nagato could not read it.

The panda standing beside Nagato looked at the golden inscription and touched it.

“There was a human who stopped at Galapagos Island to find this golden stone. Can you read it, Nagato?” Panda asked as he examined the golden inscription.

“No.” Answer Nagato briefly.

Nagato stared at the golden inscription for quite a while before returning to the fireplace and sitting all night looking at the sleeping Panda and Chibi.

“Kak Serlin..”

Nagato clenched his hands. There is no such thing as truth in this world. Anyone can be a human being in the form of a demon, even good people.

“I have to end it..” Nagato muttered softly.

His eyes stared at the burning fire. Trying to fall asleep, but still not able to. In the end he stayed awake and waited for the morning to come illuminating the land of his ancestors.
