Winona Garnet insisted that her daughter only saw cockroaches or had nightmares, especially when she saw that she looked healthy in the afternoon. The girl's cheeks were blushing red, her blue eyes were shining brightly, and her honey-brown hair was gleaming under the light of the lamp. Maria looks more beautiful than usual. Her daughter refused to be examined by a doctor.
"I'm just exhausted. Maybe blood is low," Maria grumbled as the idea of calling a doctor was raised again. He was still in front of the mirror, pecking himself while brushing his hair. "I don't want a doctor. I hate the taste of their cold stethoscopes on my skin. Anyway now I'm fine."
"Before, you threw up." Winona is still trying to persuade. He looked at his daughter's face meticulously, looking for other marks he could use as an excuse. But Mary's face looked bright and healthy.
"I vomited because the food was bad. There must be something rotten in there."
"Omong empty! The others also ate from the same pot and no one threw up!"
Maria shrugged her white shoulders indifferently. "What matters is that I am healthy now. I saw it for myself, didn't I?" He got up to hug and kiss his mother's cheek. "After all, if I feel any pain, I'll go to the doctor myself. But now I feel healthy!"
Winona looked at her daughter's face intently, then gave up. He shook his head slowly. "Alright, alright. It's your dance party. I know even though you have a high fever, you never want to miss a party."
Maria rolled her eyes. "Mother brought it up again. When I had a fever it was my debut, where I might cancel my debutante."
Debutante party or commonly abbreviated as debut is when a noble woman is old enough to be introduced to society for the first time. These girls are usually fifteen years old and above, looking for men to ask them to dance with the prospect of getting married. Maria set foot on the debut floor at the age of fifteen in a state of high fever.
What distinguishes the debutante with other women who have been officially introduced before is, the debutante usually wear a white dress and sit in groups or with a companion or sponsor. The party promoting them as a sponsor is generally a respected person.
Renata Argent was Maria's sponsor, and Jose accompanied her to her first dance. Maria in her fever stomped on Jose's feet several times and kicked the man's shin while dancing. Jose behaved as if nothing had happened and that his legs did not hurt, but he did not invite another girl to dance afterwards. Maria guessed it was because Jose's swollen legs were stepped on. Feeling guilty and ashamed that she would step on the foot of her other dance partner, Maria finally did not accept the invitation to dance again.
Since then things have gotten bad for both of them as word has spread that they are both dating. It was just a rumour, but when Jose stubbornly rejected all the future wives proffered, Marco finally guessed the rumors were indeed true. The man raised the discussion about the engagement when he met with Maria. Maria smiled little considering how she accidentally spouted out a laugh back then.
"Maryl?" Winona watched her daughter in surprise. "You okay?"
"Well," said Maria quickly. He turned his body once. "How's my dress? Is there anything less?"
Winona smiled faintly. "You look beautiful."
Even so, he felt that something was different from his daughter. Something he can't explain.

"Tumben, you didn't bring your own car?" maria asked as soon as she saw Jose show up being ushered in by the driver. He furrowed his eyebrows when he saw the driver of Jose's car waving at him. "Lho's? Dr. Rolan was driving?"
"Yes, Uncle's overloaded with free time. He wants to drive us." Jose climbed the steps of Maria's court, then bowed his back slightly to salute in an overly polite style. "If you mind, Princess, I can ask him to come down so that only I can be your driver."
Maria laughs. He patted the man's shoulder hard in response to the joke just now. "As if we're leaving!"
"Pretend not to know" said Maria. "Dad and Mom went to the Discussion Building. They just ordered Susan, if you're not the one who picked me up, I can't go."
Jose looked behind Maria. There was the Garnet family butler, several other servants, as well as the maid of Mary: Susan. He has known the lady since his teenage years. "Is that right or should I break in to say hello first?"
Susan smiled a little. "Yes, Sir. The lady ordered that."
"You think I'm lying?" Maria accidentally made a wounded face. Before the man could answer, he immediately dragged Jose to his car. On the second step, Jose stopped suddenly until Maria staggered down.
The servants who were still waiting at the door gasped in shock. Susan was half approaching them. Maria was sure she would hit the ground, but Jose had already grabbed her waist quickly and helped her get straight back up.
Maria's heart was still pounding with shock. He was ready to snap at Jose, but stopped once he saw the man looking at him seriously.
"What?" ask Maria waswas.
Jose reached out his hand, touching the tip of Maria's chin slowly. "You sick?"
Maria brushed off Jose's hand, suddenly misbehaving as soon as she realized they were too close. He could feel the look of the servants on his back. "No. Wh why? I look pale? Maybe my make up."
"No, you look prettier than usual" said Jose honestly, unconsciously making Maria's cheeks red. "But there's a wound .. on your neck. It feels like the last we met wasn't there."
Maria touched both sides of her neck in shock. He did not remember seeing any injuries while applying himself. "Where's the injury?" He looked back, towards Susan who also heard them. The day approached to check.
Susan looked at Maria's neck, but found nothing that resembled a wound. The dayang shook slowly.
"Excuse me," said Jose impatiently, then lightly touched Maria's jaw until the girl turned her head in surprise. On Maria's right neck was a small reddish-colored spot.
Susan frowned. "Ah, I also saw that earlier. But I think it's because of the insects."
Mary stroked her own neck, but found nothing. "You're exaggerating" he told Jose, but secretly felt anxious about his neck. "The wound looks obvious?"
"No, Miss. Just one red spot. Looks like a mosquito bite. Unseen," Susan turned to Jose and added, "unless someone is watching very closely."
Jose did not respond to the insinuation. He looked at Mary for a long time, "Marry, have you seen Sir William lately?"
Maria raised both of her eyebrows high upon hearing the question.
