“I brought a lot of Fish for you, before you moved into this house.”
It's true, it must be hard to remember which one was the corpse that Marco was carrying. Rolan took a slow breath, then said, “Third person you brought to my house. A man, skinny dry. Blonde hair. We didn't find her data back then.”
Marco looked astonished. “Not you got it?”
“No, did I ever say that?”
Indeed never, Marco regretted why he could forget such an important thing. But the man's body was indeed the third, not the first. And after that, successively corpses with the same condition were found, keeping him busy.
“What do you want to say?” tanyakanya.
Rolan changed his sitting position slightly tilted so that he could face to face with one of the heads of the Argent family. He explained in a low voice, “You remember how he looked?”
Marco laughing. “To be honest, no. I'm handing you the identification.”
“That was the beginning, Marc. I was still shocked when you brought the second Dried Fish, then after the third, the other Fish even came a lot. It feels like I must be less sane if not horrified or shocked.”
“Ya, then?”
“That time, I still haven't made a detailed document. Just taking notes on the sheets of paper I found at home.”
“Yes, yes, I can see it from the map you brought it. So, what's the matter exactly?” Marco was getting impatient.
Rolan squinted. His breathing is a little irregular now. “I did not record it, but I counted the numbers until now. And as soon as I reread the document I just copied, I realized something terrible.”
Marco awaits.
“Number of Dried Fish is missing one.”
“You mean?”
“Less one Fish! There's one I didn't write.”
“You forgot or how?”
“No, no, although I only recorded it after the third Fish came, after the more Fish you brought me, but I did not miss a single one! I didn't forget to take notes! There's one missing from my record!”
“Then, how do you mean?”
“The one missing is the third Fish.”
Marco close his lips. He looked at Rolan carefully. “If you hadn't forgotten to record it, maybe you would have lost it? Maybe I'm in the middle of nowhere?”
“Why are you panicking like this? What's so bad about your missing record?”
“Marco, you're smart, why don't you understand?” Rolan. It felt like he really wanted to shake Marco's shoulder.
A cold wind entered through the windows, entered the room and made the curtains attached so bulging, illuminated by transparent light. The air in the room felt like it was going down. The two men sitting on the sofa felt cold. Rolan even shivered. But Marco crossed both arms in front of his chest, holding on to his unwavering legs. Rolan's expression this time was truly never seen. He often sees Renata's annoying face. He often saw Rolan expressing serious, ignorant, happy, angry, even afraid.
The present one seemed to defeat all other expressions. Rolan looked excited, but also horrified at the same time.
“You understand the meaning of the missing note?” Rolan whispered. “It is not ‘hilang’ in the sense of being scattered, but it is not identified. Which means ... his body is missing!”
Marco has read this conclusion. He had expected her from the beginning the doctor in front of him to turn hysterical and enthusiastic, but Marco did not want to believe it. The body disappeared! It was not that fact that Marco wanted to avoid, but rather the explanation that Rolan would have thought of. He guessed, his brother-in-law would babble about mystical things or that smelled magical. Not that Marco is anti-clenic, he just wants to look for as many options as possible. Magical is a dead end. There would be nothing to be gained from such a dead end conclusion.
“He's a boy,” whispered Rolan, more on himself. His eyes were closed and both his hands were twitching the temple. “Male, blonde hair. I just put it on the board table because it was occupied by two other Fish and also the Fish that came after it. All I remember is, she's blonde. He doesn't fuse the other one. Yeah, I remember. The fish was patched quite clearly because he did not fuse the others. Her lips were dry and her cheeks were sunken, but she was not a bone-clad human. You remember where to find him, Marc?”
Marco most disliked the nickname like Marc, but he knew that it was useless to protest it from Rolan. Marco recalled when and where each body was found. He almost never forgot anything about his perfectionist lifestyle. He also remembered anyone who was with him that night. This time it was not thanks to his superhuman memory, but rather because the team he had formed for the quest had indeed been set long ago.
There's Bjork Police Inspector Robert. Two Argent family workers: Gerald and Hans. Then there was a tall cop trust Robert. Only four of the men often carried the body to the place of Rolan. Marco's principle is that the less people know a secret, the safer it will be. Hence, he had never brought more than five people with him.
“We found the fish drifting in the river,” he replied in a slow voice. “Can we discuss this elsewhere and at other times? This is not something that can be discussed freely in the room. Even my work room. Anyway, it could have been Jose suddenly coming here.”
“If he wants to be the leader behind Bjork, he should know everything, right?” rolan.
“That's my business, I trained and raised him,” Marco replied sharply. He doesn't like to be controlled by others. “Why did you call three maids here?”
Rolan looked towards the open door, wondering why the person he called for so long had not come.
Mei, Shina, and Era came together moments later. The three of them did not look scared, but enthusiastic. The three lowered their heads deeply to salute and only raised their heads after being welcomed by Marco.
Rolan doesn't want to talk. He asked the three when exactly they heard Jack's voice in the ward and whether they had actually seen the child.
Mei, who first spoke, said that she did not see Jack, only heard his voice. He saw Jack walking past the back ward before, so it was natural for him to draw the conclusion that the one in the room was Jack.
“What are you doing there?” reply Rolan. He knew no one should come near the ward of care.
“Rotation, Sir,” reply May politely. “I'm in charge of cleaning the house behind.”
“Besides you, anyone who cleaned the back?” Rolan frowned. “Did Shina and Era also participate?”
Both agree almost simultaneously.
“So, you guys heard Jack's voice together?” This time Marco asked.
