BLOODY LOVE'S

BLOODY LOVE'S
Chapter 38's

“They are good, but I advise Renata to look for a new lady. I'll move them to a fresher and quieter place, both still traumatized.”

“If you move them, people will think that something happened,” Marco scolded.

“Indeed something happened, right?”

“Nothing happened so big that two ladies-in-waiting needed to be moved outside Argent.”'s house

“You don't understand, it's not about moving—“

But Marco stopped Rolan's rebuttal by raising one hand. “You who don't understand,” he said. “It's about keeping the stability of the house.”

“Stability?” Rolan tried to keep his voice from sounding scornful. “Look, if the two people were left here, people would gossip more and more. Is that what you're worried about? You're worried about gossip! Just imagine, two ladies-in-waiting who had to be cared for by another waiter. At first they might not dare to talk. But then they'll complain about why they have to serve a waiter—even though we know, ladies and gentlemen are not servants, the waiters won't want to know—then what happened? They will gossip! Is that what you want?”

Marco tapped his index finger on the table, looking riled up. “This issue is getting more complicated. What does that guy want in our house?”

Rolan shook his head slowly. “You're sure that infiltrated your house was indeed that person?”

“Whose else is it? Do you think there are real ghosts?” Marco rolled his eyeballs. “It's clear this is Charles Hastings' job. He definitely wants to spread terror in our home.”

“I doubt Charles can switch places so quickly,” Rolan said. Charles was Marco's trade rival. The man wanted to take down Marco repeatedly. “Jose says, he first saw her at Higgins' cottage. Then she saw him again in the wing of her room.”

“Time is enough if fast. Charles certainly would not have intervened and infiltrated. He's got a bunch of hit men. You yourself know how fast those paid people are, right?”

“Of course. But moving from the west wing to the east? It was even too fast for a cheetah size!”

“You yourself said that this house could have a secret path," Marco reminded.

“Ah, that's new speculation. We don't really know if this house has it or not. Moreover, you also said, the east house has undergone repeated renovations. Could it be, in some way, someone moved from the Higgins to the west house, but to move quickly east?"

“Then, it could have been Jose wrong see.” Marco shrugged his shoulders. “Time is dark. He only saw faintly in the moonlight. In fact, when I looked through the window of the Higgins hut, there was nothing in sight. Well, so it makes sense, right? At first the intruder did nothing in the steward's lodge, then when everyone went outside, he went inside the house and headed to Edgar.”'s room

“For what?”

“What else? Spreading terror of course. He fought me at every opportunity. I'd like to open access South of Bjork, so that it's more civilized, but he fought hard and tried to bring me down."

“You're still sure this whole thing was Charles? That all this is just about unfair competition between entrepreneurs?”

Marco growling. He moved the paperweight to the right side of the table, then leaned forward. His eyes stared at Rolan sharply. “What else is it?”

The doctor nodded slowly. “You're not aware? Many are perverse in your conjecture!”

“For example? "

“Many reasons can be thought of. Charles coward. He won't do any major damage. After all, if there was a fire, there could be evidence. But an intrusion is unlikely to be prosecuted by the police. Safe way of forwarding.” Marco smiled satisfied with his explanation.

“No. The problem is, you think the cheetah came to terrorize you. Which means he deliberately made you guys out so the house is empty?”

“Yes. Therefore he did something suspicious at the Higgins.” cottage

“But Jose just happened to see it! Jose came out of the room because the horses sounded noisy. If Jose doesn't see, then you won't leave home!”

“No. If Jose hadn't seen, maybe the intruder would have done another ruckus. For example, burning Higgins cottage or such things.” Marco insisted.

“But he doesn't know if Jose saw him or not. And Higgins' cottage remained safe until the workers came,” Rolan again denied. He corrected his seat, returning Marco's gaze equally to challenge him. He knew that in order to conquer a beast, one had to look into the beast's eyes, showing who was more alpha. He applied that theory in practice with Marco. For him, Marco was the same as a wild animal in the wild. Self-esteemed, arrogant, powerful, and deadly. “Your guess is too weak, Marco. There will be nothing to be convinced of, except you, that the mastermind behind this commotion is Charles.”

“I still assume that it is Charles,” Marco menukas. “But I understand, I can't prove it. Even so, back on the original topic, the ladies cannot be allowed to run away from the house Argent.”

Rolan sighed, beginning to understand Marco's behavior patterns. The man had almost lost out earlier, but cleverly returned the topic to where he felt safe. Get rid of the discussion about Charles and bring back the two traumatized ladies-in-waiting.

“You certainly understand more about the condition of the house than I do." Rolan turned his shoulders, giving up on defending his opinion. Later, when rumors have circulated and his words proved true, he wanted to see Marco's face at that time.

“And make them come back to their senses. That's your job here,” Marco menukas sharp.

Rolan grimaced. “I can't promise. I told you, I can only make them come back if both of them were isolated first to a quieter place.”

“You will guarantee you can get the information out of them?” Marco propped his chin up over the hand. His dark eagle eyes looked half closed.

“Oh, well, about that ...”

“Can't, right? That's why I told you it would be the same. Whether the two maids are taken outside or remain in this house, gossip will remain circulating. I'd rather see the rumors that I can control than them be the talk of far away in a place that I can't reach.”

Rolan marvels at Marco's ability to capture everything and put it together like a puzzle. It turned out that everything had been thought through carefully by Marco, making Rolan began to wonder also if there was another reason behind his accusation to Charles.

Could it be that there are indeed no alien beings sucking blood? Could all this be due to behind-the-scenes economic warfare?

No, Rolan denied it himself inwardly. He saw for himself how the corpse dried up without blood. Higgins' skin is even just like a clay elastic sheet. Horrifically.

No human being can drain blood like that. Even the people in the slaughterhouse would definitely be envious and wanted to see how the technique used to remove the blood was to clean. Even the Higgins heart is almost as white as it is washed clean. It's definitely not a human technique. Although he still does not know what happened and how to clean the blood like magic, Rolan remains convinced that the culprit is not human.

There were only a few holes in the body parts of the dried corpses that he autopsied. It doesn't make sense for blood to come out of such a small hole. After all, there were only three or four holes in each corpse, most of them in the neck. Rolan shuddered to remember it.
