Rolan rested his left foot on the right foot. His hands were busy picking up the cookies and dipping them into the tea before devouring them. Marco stared at the activity with a displeased face, but Rolan did not care. He will only do what he finds enjoyable.
Actually, being a doctor is not a very pleasant activity, especially being a Argent family doctor. His last name is not Argent. He is an Orlov.
But her own brother, Renata, asked for it. Rolan could not help but grant what her beautiful sister wanted. Even in his mid-forty years, his brother still looks charming. Her body was slender and tall, her skin was milky white, her dark brown curly hair was neatly tied and bunned. Sitting inside the flower-filled greenhouse like now made Renata look like a living painting.
“So, the workers still have not found who infiltrated yesterday?” Renata asked.
“Not yet, but take it easy, I've got the big picture who did it.” Marco was beside him, sitting in another chair, while Edgar was still wandering outside taking care of work.
In front of them, on a table made of clear glass, pastries and tea were neatly arranged.
“I hope the intruder is found soon,” Renata said again. “Security has been improved, hopefully no more thieves come in. I'm still goosebumps considering what happened that night.”
Marco and Rolan exchanged glances. Renata saw that, but remained silent. He knew that there were other secrets hidden by the men, possibly related to Higgins or the missing men. He wasn't told much about the investigation carried out by Marco, but it didn't matter. If no one wants to tell him, he probably doesn't need to know. So Renata never forced. It just goes with the flow that happens.
“Oh yes,” he said again. “I haven't told you guys yet. Actually yesterday I got word from Jacob.”
Jacob is his first son, the difference with Jose is four years. Jacob is married and lives outside Bjork. Renata still clearly remembered the black-haired son's face, still able to feel the steam of his breath as a baby. It felt so short, suddenly his son had turned into a grown man and left him. Jacob refuses to stay in Argent or Bjork to inherit the family business and chooses to build his own business.
“Why Jacob?” Marco raised both eyebrows in surprise. “He's still in the macaroni company, right?”
“Ya, yes, his company is bigger.” Renata tried to repel her melancholy sense and replaced it with a proud tone. His son has succeeded. “She said she wanted to stop by here. Three more days he comes.”
“Wow,” said Rolan short, grabbing another piece of biscuit and dipping it in a teacup.
Renata looked at his sister with a frown. He captures Marco's dislike of the way Rolan enjoys confectionery and he also knows that Rolan remains adamant about doing what he likes because of the pleasure of flirting with Marco. The nature of this one Rolan makes Renata remember Jose.
“So,” Marco turned his gaze away from Rolan's teacup. “He will come alone or with his family? For how long?”
“Come with his wife, Olivia. For more details, he will be in touch today. But no phone.”
“Perhaps void,” says Rolan lightly. “I think it's better to also cancel. Bjork's not safe, is he? There is nothing here that can be seen.”
“Of course there is a lot to see!” fast Marco. A smile formed on his thin lips, a smile that was too faint. “The city is still going well. There's no harm if Jacob comes and looks around.”
Rolan turned the eyeball. “I think he'd better stay out of town.”
That reason silenced Rolan's mouth. “Anything that makes Brother happy,” he said in a relentless tone. “Again, you guys are the hosts.”
“By the way about Jose, I haven't seen him since he drove Garnet home" Marco commented.
“Ah, considering that I'm so sorry. I didn't get to see Maria at lunch. Is he disappointed?” Renata put her cup back on the coaster, making a soft scraping sound.
“No, she is not disappointed,” entertain Rolan. He turned his head up and narrowed his eyes. “I saw Jose's room window was closed tightly, but it was open. Maybe he's home. Let me try to see it.”
He got up and patted his clothes to get rid of the cookie crumbs, again grinning as Marco glared at him. Rolan knew that no matter how angry the man was at him, he would not be expelled from Argent's house. He was Marco's right hand man.
While waltzing out of the greenhouse, Rolan recalled the first corpse that came to him.
It was a drizzling rain. Marco banged on the door of his house with a stone because he thought he was sleeping, whereas Rolan had long leaned on the door while counting in his heart. Of course he knew what made Marco so impatient back then.
Marco is not alone. There is also an Inspector who oversees the city of Bjork. There were also two or three elderly policemen, as well as three coroners. Rollan knows them all.
At the eleventh door, Rolan ruffled his hair, unbuttoned his top shirt, then opened the door while acting like a man just woke up. He widened his eyes, pretending to be surprised when he saw the men carrying body bags.
Rolan knows that Marco is in control of Bjork's dark side. He's not surprised. In fact, he had already suspected that Marco would come to him one day while carrying a corpse.
The thing that was not expected by Rolan was the contents of the body bag. It contained a corpse, but Rolan did not fake his shock when he saw the condition of the corpse. The corpse widened its eyes, its body mottled blue and black. Skin's wrinkled. His gray tongue poked out. The corpse's blood was dried.
It was the first dried corpse Marco had brought to him. Apart from her, few know the truth about what happened to some of the missing people in Bjork. The second and third bodies, then a few more bodies came to Rolan after.
Marco knows the dark practices that Rolan has put in. Instead, Rolan also knows that Marco is the controller of Bjork's dirty and dark side. Without saying anything, the two worked together on the missing people. They work in a silent deal.
Marco allows Rolan to dissect each body and figure out how the blood is drained. Rolan did not care about the money Marco sent into his wallet. He was more interested in the mysteries that took place in Bjork. But he did not show at all about his excessive interest. If Marco finds out that he has no interest in money and is willingly interested in his mystery, Marco may no longer treat him with caution.
At Marco's behest, the police did not disseminate the matter of finding the dried corpse. All that is still known to the public is that the people who disappeared have not been found, and that they should be careful after dark.
Although some people have suspected that the possibility, the missing people can no longer be found alive, but the allegations are only stored in the heart. No one really knew that those people were indeed dead. And again, without blood.
