BLOODY LOVE'S

BLOODY LOVE'S
Chapter 65's

Mei shook her head quickly. “I was the first to hear it. It was the first day after Linda and Anna fainted.”

Fainting is a pronoun used by Rolan to explain the condition of the two maids to the other servants. Only the butler and the lady-in-waiting, Margie, knew exactly how the two maids were doing.

“Then I heard it,” said Shina, “But I didn't hear it on duty cleaning the back ward. I heard people talking the day after Linda and Anna fainted. Joint Era.”

“That's right,” timpal Era. “I heard it too. Voice of people talk late-goal.”

“What is he talking about?”

“No idea, Doctor,” Reply Era. “Not heard clearly, but it looks like questions. There is no answer either because well, Linda and Anna are fainting.”

“So, all you hear is sound? You don't see who's talking?” ask Rolan again.

The three looked at each other, then shook their heads.

“Then, why can you be sure that it sounds Jack?”

Shina looked astonished. “If not Jack, who else?”

Marco stared at the waiter sharply, making him bow quickly. Marco always hated the question of return. According to the rules, the waiter should only answer what is asked.

“We assume, his voice belongs to Jack because it looks like it's his voice,” Era said.

Rolan asked them to describe it, and now the three servants described the voice they heard with a hint of hesitation. Come to think of it, Jack did not feel like he would enter the treatment room. The boy is a determined worker. He felt indebted to the Argent Family and was determined to live a righteous life. He doesn't talk much, but is quick to learn and light-handed, and rules-abiding. If there is an order not to enter a room, Jack is not the one who will break it.

Mei expressed her opinion succinctly, greeted by a brief nod by Rolan, who let the three go out and return to their respective jobs.

“What did you get?” marco asked after the door was closed. His eyes trace each of the lines that make up Rolan's countenance. “I feel you doubt their testimony.”

Rolan gave a restless smile. He stared at the closed door, then back at Marco. “I have no doubts about their testimony. There's no reason for them to lie to us about this. Nothing in it, right?”

“Indeed, that's also what I want to say. So?”

“What if it wasn't Jack they heard?”

“Can it be, but what does this have to do with all this? You mean, someone's disguised as Jack?”

“No, I don't mean that. They're ‘thinking’ that the talker is Jack. But what if they are just ‘kira’? What if it's really not Jack, regardless of whether he's undercover or not?”

“Whose do you think?” Marco frowned.

Now Rolan rested his back on the chair. His heel knocks on the carpet slowly. “Fish Dry third lost, then other Fish come plus much. Intruders came to this house up to twice. One of them made Higgins die, the second made two of the maids faint. Then, there was the sound of people talking to the two traumatized maids. Do you think all this is unrelated?"

“No, but—“

“Eat him,” cut Marco pissed. “Which you were talking about just now also everything has nothing to do!”

“Why do you refuse to admit that it could be a matter of missing people having certain relationships?! The victims must have something in common!”

“Then, show where the similarities are!” hatch Marco. “Show! Give me proof! Give me the connection, after that I trust.”

Rolan looked at Marco with annoyance. His heart was racing as his blood pressure rose. “Prove me wrong!” his reply.

Marco sighed, trying to be patient. “Rolan, Rolan, the burden of proof is on the person who makes the claim. You've heard that, right? You can't ask a person who refuses to believe to prove his or her rejection. Gosh, sometimes I wonder if you're stupid or smart.”

Rolan gritted his teeth, but realized that he had just lost his composure. It is common to never have emotions like this. He was not a member of the Argent family, but calmness was also in one of its main principles. And humor. He should have remembered that. Rolan exhaled a bulging breath on the cheek. He scratched his non-itchy cheeks, then returned to the document file on his lap.

“Stay,” he said, still do not want to lose, “Three ladies did not prove that who entered the treatment room was Jack. Don't try to cut me, Marc. It could be all related. We better hold on to all possibilities. Isn't that your custom? Open-minded?”

Marco raised the corner of his lips upwards. “Alright, I got it. Continue your guess.”

Rolan looked around, smiling. “There is something to look for, I will find what the pattern behind it is.” He sorted the files and records he made.

Marco watched Rolan's work from the side. His mind drifted everywhere. He was only half convinced that Charles Hastinga was the culprit behind the infiltration. Although always denouncing the theories proposed by Rolan, he was actually deliberately counter to make the status so comparable that they both did not experience bias in assessing an event. That is also actually the core of the Discussion Building in Bjork: not letting people get carried away with one thought. By presenting the pros and cons at once in a space, people will be able to see various views and underlying reasons, then hopefully will be able to act and think more openly. So that the people of Bjork are not confined to one rigid box of thought.

Rolan is still sorting out the files. “This is weird,” muttered. “I just noticed it now. Some people have a direct relationship with the Argent.” family

Now Marco is interested. “Masa? Anyone?”

“The dead: Higgins, Jack, Arthur, Fatso, Liondre, Ernest, Caroline.”

“Jack not found, Rolan. Jack and Higgins are the servants of this family. The rest?”

“Arthur, he paced back and forth several times on the Argent family farm. He was arrested by police for wandering around at night and apparently had no home. Fatso, he entered through the back door of Argent's house to ask the servants for food. Liondre—“

“Wait, where did you know that?” cut Marco.

“Robby who tells.”

“Robert?” Marco frowned hearing the name of Inspector Bjork. He hasn't received any files on the five people that Rolan is mentioning right now. This astonished him. Supposedly, any information is given to him first before it is given to others.

Rolan still continues the description of the people mentioned ‘hink’ with the Argent family, but Marco's thoughts are already elsewhere.
