BLOODY LOVE'S

BLOODY LOVE'S
Chapter 68's

“You mean, this necklace carries a curse?” Marco menukas with an interested smile.

“No! No, no, I don't mean that! My point is ... is often in the story, right? Beautiful things bring disaster. Even the blue sapphire is said to make the Titanic sank!”

“But we all wear gold, even your watch is made of white gold.”

Wallace laughs. His hands were crossed forward, hiding his watch in an underarm constriction. He looked at Marco carefully. “It is better to return the object to the place where you found it, Sir, perhaps the owner is looking for.”

There was pressure in Wallace's tone of voice back then, as well as anxiety. Marco recognized a slight scent of fear. He has long been trained in this kind of business. Wallace, who was younger in his twenties, was no match for Marco at all.

“That's weird, Mr. Wallace.” Marco tapped his feet slowly onto the marble floor. His eyes were staring around, some youths and other upper circles were far away from them despite glancing stealthily, everyone always knew when to dodge a Marco Argent.

Marco returned his gaze forward, staring at the director who looked more like a pig than a human. “I don't remember ever saying that this necklace I found. Why can you know that this necklace is not mine?”

Wallace's green eyes twitched in confusion. “A-You seem to say that. You said it, kok.”

“No.” Marco shakes. “I just came to ask what the symbol engraved on this convex medallion means. I didn't even mention where and from whom I got it. Why can you be so sure, this necklace I found, instead of buying it somewhere, given by someone, or a family inheritance?”

“A-You'll bring it to me! Just intuition. I could have been wrong to say, right?” Wallace laughed, sounding forced. “I think, Mr. Marco Argent will definitely not go to and fro asking the meaning of the necklace he has understood for a long time.”

That's an ambiguous explanation, but Marco silenced it. He again switched on the next question, “So, you know what this symbol means?”

“Symbol? No, I think .. I think, it's just a symbol of a regular gathering. Or initials of name. Not something that has meaning.”

“But you seem to recognize it.”

“No!” Wallace was getting upset. Her face flushed. He grinds his cigarette on the ashtray, then lifts his chin up high. “I don't know about cheap necklaces, Mr Argent! And I'm sorry, but I have important business to take care of. More important than just a necklace!”

The man had already risen to his feet from the velvet chair he was sitting on when Marco deliberately muttered a sentence.

“Padalaan in it there is something interesting.”

Just then, Wallace took a few steps back until he almost fell. He would have fallen if his hands had not swiftly caught the back of his sturdy chair.

Marco frowned. This reaction was expected, but he did not expect Wallace would be more angry than afraid. “Why, Mr Wallace? You know something about this necklace?”

Marco hasn't actually opened the necklace yet. He did not even really know that the necklace's eyes could be opened. The medallion was round with flat convex, there was a faint thin line on the edge, surrounding the circle. Marco was only betting with himself. Wallace was very suspicious, he was sure the man must have known something. And it turns out to be true.

After the accident, Wallace still denied that he knew something about the necklace in Marco's hands. He got angry and screamed, then ran away from the Discussion Building with his signature slow pace.

Marco still vividly remembered how Wallace had looked at the time. Fearful. Horrified. Angrier.

There was indeed something on this necklace that Nolan had given him.

Rolan said the symbol on the necklace had something to do with the blood ritual. It might mean something to do with the missing and bloodied people in Bjork. Marco began to feel that all these mysteries could be unraveled. Rolan is now digging up research records in his old house. The doctor doesn't really remember where he knew the symbol on the necklace and how the full story was, so Marco tells Rolan to ruffle through the archives in his old house, looking for as much info as possible. As usual, Rolan had no choice but to comply.

Marco took back the gold necklace. Pure gold. Although he now knew that his necklace pendulum could be opened and there was something important in it, Marco did not find the right way to open it. He believes, the necklace must have its own mechanism of work. If he forced to open the necklace by gouging or sawing, Marco feared his secret could be broken. He'll lose a very important clue.

Therefore, since this morning, he had only researched the necklace from end to end. The surface he palpated and traced with a finger, looking for some kind of knob or something that could be entered by a key. Usually, a secret must have a key.

Marco can't wait to hear the latest report from Rolan. It is possible that the information about the blood ritual in question and the secret behind this necklace symbol will make the mystery of the loss of blood of people in Bjork will be solved.

Marco now finds his connection. If there was a blood ritual, there would be an organization. Rituals require rites. And taking care of a lot of people and draining their blood to the point that it must require special skills. Kidnapping a human and disposing of his corpse, even if it was a dried corpse, was not an easy thing to do alone. There must be some. This necklace in his hand must be the way to get into that blood-filled secret society.

Marco knows Wallace was involved. But he delayed conducting a direct search and interrogation of the man. If he is rash, the traces he has may disappear. The most important thing is to both pretend not to know. He would pretend that he was unaware of Wallace's involvement, and he knew that Wallace would also pretend that nothing had happened. Seeing from how horrified and fearful the man was, there must be something bad that would happen if this necklace fell into the hands of someone else.

Marco smiled once more. He felt he could almost reach the end of the mystery, but also far away at the same time. There are still many things he does not understand.

Is it possible that the victims were chosen at random?

If this bloody event was indeed the work of a certain heretical sect, how dangerous would they be? And why can't it be sniffed by the secret police he built underground?

And what he wanted to know was whether it was possible that this blood sect had something to do with the black intruder that entered his house.

If you need blood, why go after Higgins? Why bother to go into the hut of the steward, while out there are many homeless people whose blood is free and whose existence will not be mourned. Could it have something to do with the disappearance of some upper class like Lord Dominic as well as other nobles?
