Nolan was still dumbstruck in front of the tower door. He doesn't know how long it has been. The pain in his arm helped Nolan wake up from the daydream. He inched closer to the door, then stuck his ear there. The metal was ice-cold, making him shudder.
"Marco?" she whispered softly, hoping she could hear the man's voice snapping at her from inside, telling her to be polite and calling him Master.
But there is no sound. He only heard his own heartbeat. Nolan lowered his head, closing the coat he was wearing. He doesn't know where to go. He was afraid that the bad guys would be found or even found by a black ghost. He was afraid of getting lost in the fog and not being able to go home.
Nolan turned his body slowly and sat leaning against the door of the tower, allowing the coldness of his iron steel to creep from his back to the rest of his body. He stared at the vast expanse of sky above him. The tower is so tall. The sky is so wide. The trees are so tight and cold. Marco was so brave. Nolan felt very small among all of them. He felt helpless. Why would Marco throw him outside instead of running away on his own?
He realized that it was like an Argent. That's how the North. He remembers how determined and consistent Jose was in his investigations of the black ghost. He recalled how the workers at Argent's house were so loyal to their master's orders. She recalled how Mary looked him directly in the eye when criticizing him in the dress shop.
They all live by upholding their principles of life with pride, with integrity.
"You said you wouldn't leave me alone" Nolan murmured in a sullen voice. "You're Marco Argent, you shouldn't break your promise."
Nolan took a deep breath, then patted both of his own cheeks to strengthen his heart. "I'm Nolan da South, I'm not a whiny!" He got up slowly, crept into the bushes, and started dragging steps. He will find the river. The river in Bjork is a sacred river. He'll feel safer there. If he goes down the river, he will certainly get to a place where he will reach the sea, or to his village. Nolan turned his head once more towards the tower, then turned back to the front. "I'm Nolan da South, I'm not afraid," he whispered trembling, repeating the sentence to strengthen himself.

Maria was still angry, but she was confused as to what made Jose so violent. He recognized Jose as a rational man.
Jose forced him to accompany him into the house, then needed to warn Susan and both parents Mary so as not to let the girl alone.
Jose even had to be dragged home by Rolan to stop babbling about the windows and doors that must be closed tightly.
"What's really going on?" asked Mrs Garnet in wonder. "You're in trouble?"
Maria shook her head. "Jose was a little drunk" he said.
Mr. Garnet frowned. In his eyes, Jose didn't look like a drunk. The young man looked tense and anxious, not drunk. And because the warning about the door and the window came from an Argent known for dealing with strange things in Bjork, Mr. Garnet decided to obey. Security at the manor was tightened, and Susan was asked to sleep guard in Maria's room.
Of course Mary grumbled to hear it, but she did not resist. Maria wants to take a warm bath and go to bed.
Since then he has felt bad. It was as if he could still feel how Jose's warm body was pressing down on his body, with their hearts racing together. He blamed Jose for making him constantly think about such embarrassing things.
"You can sleep, Sue," said Maria after having her hair combed and trimmed. He laid his body on the bed and rolled in a blanket. "Just go back to your room, no problem. Tomorrow if asked, I'd say you sleep here."
Susan shook her head firmly. "I'm being ordered to look after Miss tonight. So I'll stay here. After all, I think Miss really needs to be accompanied. Miss has been looking nervous." He sat on the reading chair beside Mary's bed. "Is there something to do with the party tonight? With Mr Jose Argent?"
Maria bit her lips. His cheeks were suddenly hot considering the heat of the hug earlier. "It has nothing to do with him!" ketus. "I don't think about him!"
"I didn't say that Miss thought about it, did she?" Susan laughed amusedly, instead guessing that this indeed had something to do with Jose. "Alright, Miss. I won't ask you again. Just go to sleep."
"I still think this is overkill" grumbled Maria. "Father and Mother outrageous. I'm not a kid. You can sleep in your room."
"Bjork's in a gripping state, miss. Many people are missing. Seeing Master Jose so anxious like that, of course the Great Lord thought his warning was important. And it might be important."
Susan just smiled and looked at it. He was quite relieved to see Maria healthy tonight.
Maybe the matter of vomiting this afternoon is not important, maybe Miss just catch a cold.
Susan's yawning. He felt his eyes getting heavier and heavier.

Susan opened her eyelids wide, suddenly awake. He blinked his eyes regretfully, not realizing when he had fallen asleep. He should have been on guard. A great fear hit him. Susan realized how empty the room was. Mary is not in bed.
He got up to check on the private bathroom in his master's room, but Mary was not there either. The door to the room is wide open. Susan's whole body was hot cold. His knees even squashed. He walked out of the room to check the kitchen, thinking that his master was thirsty and would not wake him up to drink. But Mary was not there.
Mary is not in the reading room. Nothing in the living room. There aren't. While checking the front door, Susan felt her heart almost stop. The door is unlocked.
Without a second thought, Susan rushed to the Housekeeper's room.
It's now one in the morning, but the woman should still be awake. Edna usually still checks the bookkeeping in the Housekeeper's room. He entered without knocking on the door, only to find Edna asleep on the table—still wearing his reading glasses.
The discomfort disturbed Susan. He shook the body of the forty-year-old woman, forcing her to come to her senses. Edna managed to wake up, but the woman's eyes still closed in half.
"Susan?"
"Help me," whispered Susan. "Miss is not in the room! Miss disappeared! What do we do?"
Both of Edna's eyes were half open. The woman straightened the body. His eyes stared hard, squealing. "You're not kidding me, are you?"
"Do I look like I'm joking?" reply Susan don't believe. "I've searched the whole house, but Miss is not there! Madam, what should I do? We wake up Mr and the Big Lady?"
Edna weighed for a while, then shook her head. "The Madam's health has been deteriorating lately. Let's try to find it ourselves first. If we can find Miss without making a fuss, that's better."
Susan nodded. "We need to wake up the butler?"
"of course. We need Mr. Dale's help."
The two rushed towards the butler's room, the man appeared after the door of his room was knocked down for the umpteenth time. Dale looked at the two of them worriedly from the doorway. The man was still wearing pajamas. "Is there a problem, Mrs Edna? Susan?"
"Big problem" Susan said quickly, then explained the matter briefly. Dale understands. Without saying much, the man grabbed his traveling coat and led the way outside the house.
Mary's coat and shoes are still in place, as is her hat. The conclusion that can be taken is that Mary walks out of the house at night without wearing footwear, just wearing a nightgown.
And that's obviously terrible.
