Gerald emerged from one of the doors while picking up Nolan, who was still wearing Marco's coat. The girl's face was haphazard, but a thin fluffy smile on her pale lips.
"Kolan! Thank goodness you're okay," welcome Jose sincerely. He was sad to see the condition of the girl, but still put on his mask face. It cannot show a soft expression in the slightest. The man watches Nolan, who Gerald carries into the car. After seeing with his own eyes that Nolan was safe in his carriage, he again circulated his gaze to the corner of the room. "Well? My friend is here. If you'd told me so long ago, I wouldn't have had to interrupt the precious morning gentlemen."
Robert is speechless. He felt like he saw Marco as a young man, only this one was more brutal and reckless. Jose did not even hesitate to use the public as a weapon to counterattack opponents.
Jose's eyes stopped on Wayne, who this time did not dare to stare back. "Inspector Robert" he said. He looked up, his gaze as gentle as a newborn baby. "I heard a rumor that my uncle Marco was missing, I heard it just now from the officer's tongue here. But is that weird? You and Uncle Marco are pretty close. If Uncle Marco was missing, you'd know. And if you had known, you would have been looking for him. But you didn't look for him until now, until this second. Doesn't that mean he's not missing?"
Robert said nothing. His lips were tightly clenched. He knew the question was a trap to lock his movements. If he says yes then he gives an official statement that refutes the rumors. If he says Marco is missing, Jose will undermine him when he cannot guess the young man's next move.
"I consider silence a yes." Jose put both his hands in his coat pocket, waiting. When no one made a sound, he raised his voice, "See, Officer Wayne? Your own inspector has already refuted the slander you threw!" Jose stretched out his hand sweeping through the air, giving a gesture of affirmation. "If until I hear a single rumor about my uncle being uttered again by the people in this building, I will take it as a flag of hostility towards the Argent Family, especially towards me! And what will endure my anger then is all of you who hear it, but do not prevent it! You're being ignorant just as you are ignoring the injustice Nolan has endured! And if that time comes, I swear I'll make you pay the price."
Robert was stunned, not imagining Jose would use this method to threaten and lock the mouth of the police station. If the one before them was an ordinary young man, that remark would definitely be laughed at. But in front of them was an Argent who supervised hundreds of bouncers in Bjork and had connections with various dangerous nobles. No one took the threat lightly, especially with dozens of bouncers waiting outside.
Their bodies trembled in a cold sting imagining the price they would have to pay if it violated that warning. Not only are their lives at stake here. Jose Argent, with his outspoken and fearless demeanor, was clearly likely to carry out his vows more brutally and clearly, not as silent as Marco.
Jose threw a fierce look at Wayne as a warning before turning away. Not forgetting that he nodded politely to Robert and greeted him, "Welcome to work again, gentlemen. Oh, one more. Please remember that today you have never met me, nor have you met Nolan. This morning there was never. I'll forget it too. Well, may your day be blessed."

Jose did not say goodbye to Rolan when he left, nor did he leave any messages. When Rolan finds out from George that the young man went to the Bjork police station to pick up Nolan, what's inside Rolan's head is explosion after explosion. He was eager to blow up Jose's head and shake the young man's body to wake him up to the gravity of their current situation. He thought Jose was just playing around with Nolan like he used to. He did not expect to be surprised by Gerald.
Gerald went home first in a horse-drawn carriage that was used by Jose. The man walked over to Rolan while holding the child in a dark blue coat.
Rolan recognized the coat. He also knew the girl he was carrying. Rolan immediately ran to Gerald's step, which led Nolan to the servant's room.
"Where did you get this?" rolan asked, referring to the coat Nolan wore. Marco never put his coat carelessly—let alone that there is their family emblem. That coat on Nolan can only mean one thing: Marco himself gives. For the first time after so many days, Rolan finally felt elated. "Marco with you?"
Nolan opened his mouth, let out a hoarse stifled voice, then nodded with a face of pain, then shook his head. Rolan frowned, not knowing if it meant yes or no. All he knew was that the girl was worse off than he had expected.
Gerald calls Margie, asking the housekeeper for help to bathe Nolan, who is too weak to move on her own. Nolan did not refuse this time. He had no energy to refuse.
As her old clothes were impossible to wear, Margie gave her a set of Argent maid uniforms that were long-sleeved black canal dresses equipped with white apron layers sewn on the front. Rolan cut the arm off skillfully so that he could treat the torn wound there.
The girl just frowned painlessly as Rolan cleaned the wound on her swollen arm festering from the infection. Nolan even flinched as Rolan cleaned his beret wound here and there with alcohol.
But when Rolan finished cleaning Nolan's wounds and asked gently about Marco's whereabouts, water ran loose from the girl's eye patch, wetting her cheeks. Nolan lowered his head, his hands clutching tightly at the ends of the apron that was wet with tears.
Rolan raised both eyebrows aloft to find the unexpected reaction. He hurriedly turned to Margie, who was currently scribbling a handkerchief and looking pityfully at Nolan. The motherly heart of the woman was broken. Rolan twitched his eyes and chin, coding Margie, who immediately nodded and sat on the lip of the bed, by the girl's side.
His arms wrapped around Nolan's shoulders, embracing him carefully. Margie had already heard the news that Nolan was a brash Southern boy tied up in a hay shed for kicking sand into Marco's pants. He hears about how the girl deliberately dressed well in order to enter Argent's house, as well as rumors that the boy is after Jose. But Margie forgot all about it as soon as she saw the real person. In his eyes now Nolan looked innocent, innocent without gimmicks, almost sweet-looking.
Gerald who from the beginning did not like the brash child was now even sympathetic. Whatever Nolan experienced must have been a hard thing to see from his injuries. He wanted to ask the boy about Marco's whereabouts, but Gerald knew his place. He was silent and only turned his gaze in the other direction because he felt impolite looking at the crying girl.
Nolan gasped in shock as his shoulders were embraced tighter, but Margie greeted him gently and introduced herself to make him calmer. Despite not knowing who the woman was, but Nolan could feel no hostility or suspicion in his eyes, and the way Margie embraces makes Nolan remember the attractive Marco and throws him outside the tower. Nolan dropped his head on Margie's shoulder, ready to burst into tears.
But the door of the room went open and Jose lunged in with his breath almost gone. He stepped sinlessly with a big smile on his satisfied face. "Kolan! You're okay-ap—“ Jose clenched his mouth again awkwardly as soon as you realized the atmosphere in the room was very sad. He walked back a few steps and closed the door slowly while muttering an apology for his irreverence.
"Come, Jose. You've ruined the atmosphere, too" exclaimed Rolan from the inside. "Come in and explain what you did at the police station, and why you didn't tell me first!"
Jose reopened the door with a guilty face. Hans was behind him, exchanging glances with Gerald in a language that only they understood. The one who was now stepping into the room with this unkind expression explained their Little Master, a much different figure to Young Master Argent who threatened everyone in the police station earlier.
Jose seemed to collect many different masks faces and just choose to wear which one.
But whichever mask Jose chooses, both Gerald and Hans know that they will love and serve it all.
