“Laughter is a little weird. It felt like it echoed straight into the chest,” Edgar ended his story. Both of his black-colored eyeballs moved uneasily.
Nolan listened to everything carefully, so that each chew he did slowly so as not to interfere with hearing. Everything feels surprising. He thought, people in the northern city of Bjork will not take the trouble that leads to mystical things like ghosts—more rich families. Turns out he was wrong. In this house, everyone is busy looking for ghosts.
Earlier, while infiltrating out of the house to return the necklace he found to where the Argent family was, Nolan did not expect to be arrested and tied up. Nolan forgave this easily after learning of the panic that hit this family. Even so, of course he will not display his forgiving nature to Marco. Let the people think that he is still angry and hostile towards them.
He grabbed the glass of syrup provided, downed it, then announced aloud that he was leaving soon. Nolan had already heard enough about ghosts. The pale and frantic faces around him made him not want to stay any longer.
Renata, who had since shifted her fear focus by thinking about what if she had a daughter, immediately grabbed Nolan's wrist to prevent her from leaving. “Outside still dark!” said firmly. “Just sleep here first, you can go tomorrow morning!”
“Now morning,” said Nolan, who always knows how to cuddle.
“Pagi calculated that the sun is already visible,” Renata does not want to lose. He turned his eyes, coded his youngest son to help.
“Sleeping here won't make you die, Nolan,” said Jose plainly, which instead earned him a displeased look from Renata.
“Indeed not, but I'm afraid my parents will be anxious,” Nolan reasoned. Of course it's a lie. His parents may be sleeping well now, without worry or anxiety. His family is not a bad kind of man, just too relaxed and do not bother almost on all issues. They believed in Nolan and knew that he could take care of himself.
Even if Nolan does not return for the next two days, his family will stay up late, fishing, and sleeping soundly as usual. But it remains Nolan's own secret. He hoped for the reason that Argent's family would rethink keeping him in the house.
“Outside remains a danger,” Edgar menukas, “We never know what will happen, after all the patrol police have returned to their respective homes.”
“Don't hold me back,” Nolan brushed off Renata's hand that was still blocking her. “What if because I didn't come home soon, my mother just went out and looked for me? What if something happens to them? Do you want to be responsible?”
Elite pretenders usually back off if given the burden of responsibility, that's what Nolan always thought. By bringing the matter up, he hopes to repel the concerns of those in the room. But it turns out that Argent's family kept him, even Marco.
“He will not be that stupid, want to go out of a safe house for the sake of a dirty child like you,” said the old man, still with his typical cold gaze.
Nolan frowned, knowing that the man was right, but also upset by it.
“Stay here, tomorrow I will drive you home,” Jose said.
Nolan was still protesting when a waiter came and took him away. But his protest was not as violent as usual, he only did it to show that he still felt displeased. When he was led out of the room, he could still hear the voices of the people talking. Apparently the four people are still continuing their discussion about ghosts.
You coward! Nolan sneered at them inwardly.

Gerald came a little while after Nolan left. It was half-four in the morning. Edgar was forcing his wife to go to bed first, but Renata confidently refused. He said that he could stay awake until the morning.
“Doctor Rolan has come and immediately see the condition of the ladies. We finished inspecting the whole house. Even to the corners, sir. Nothing suspicious,” reports Gerald with a tense face. “But we will continue to patrol.”
Marco nodded, asking that Rolan be called.
Rolan is a well-built man in his mid-thirty years, Renata's younger brother. Her hair is dark brown. The man always gave a calm smile in any situation, including this morning. After patting Jose on the shoulder and greeting his sister, he immediately took his place by Edgar's side.
“The children were terrified,” he said without further ado, referring to Dayang Renata. “What do they see exactly? You guys managed to catch that ghost?”
“It's not a ghost,” Marco said firmly. “Accept intruder.”
“Oh, come on, I heard the waiters talking. You didn't catch him. He moved from one place to another quickly. When the two servants came to their senses from shock, the rumors would definitely add more. Why are you still hiding something from me?”
“We have not managed to catch him,” error Marco. His eagle eyes stared intently at the casual-clothed man by Edgar's side. “I think the doctors will think of a more scientific explanation instead of believing in ghost stories."
“I'm a doctor full of fantasy,” kilah Rolan while chuckling. “Well, well, now, just say it all. By the way, Jose, you saw it too, right? I mean, the ghost?”
Jose nodded his head, beginning to be amazed at this one uncle. His presence was like carrying its own warmth and joy, as if extraordinarily stressful things were no mystery to him. Secretly Jose was envious, he thought whether he would be able to relax and act as fun as it was despite being intimidated by Marco's sharp gaze.
“How does it exist? Are you wearing white clothes? He's got an ax?” Rolan linked his hands together in front of his chin, his two young brown eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “Is there any bloodstains on his body? Is there any part of his body that is mutilated? Come on, tell me everything.”
