Babysitter For Rain

Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 14

Before Rain and his friends exit through the school gate, all the criminals have been snatched up by David and his men.

A white van came in and the men were put in it. Ana doesn't know where they're taking her. Ana hears David say to the driver, "Take them to their usual place" before the car leaves them.

The wound on Ana's hand still felt painful, even though she had cleaned it with water earlier. But, Ana is forced to hold him back, as she must hide it from Rain's sight, or else the boy will be afraid to see it. Luckily, the wound was in a position that Ana could cover with her body.

After school, Rain who came out with his face immediately ran around hugging Ana who was waiting for him in front of the car. In the same car, David asked the driver to take them, "To where Mr. Marius is", he said.

That place is Lorenzo Vins. A fine restaurant, where Ana meets Marius for the first time. "Is this place his? Why does he always bring me here?" thought Ana in wonder.

"Marius wants you to meet him, let Rain come with me" said Lucas, who was waiting for them at the entrance.

"Marius?" asked Ana.

"He looks very angry" Lucas whispered.

Apparently, Ana knew what this was about. He began to feel a piercing chill all over his body, even though the afternoon sun was shining quite hot.

Ana is escorted by a restaurant waiter to a VIP room as Lucas orders. As the door opened, Ana saw Marius' back standing behind her.

The waiter left Ana and Marius in the room. Ana just stood behind Marius, lowered her head, closed her eyes, and began to imagine what Marius would say to her. His head had already given him a picture of how furious Marius was at scolding him later.

"ARE YOU CRAZY, ANA? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? DIDN'T I TELL YOU NOT TO BE RASH?"

Ana had already prepared her mind and heart in order to be strong enough to face Marius' nagging. He hoped that Marius' anger would be no worse than Naomi's.

"Come ..."

The imaginary video that was in Ana's head suddenly stopped spinning. Ana is shocked to hear Marius' soft voice, unlike what she imagined.

He saw Marius with his shirt arms folded up, to accentuate the muscles in both arms, increasingly showing the masculinity side of himself. Some equipment for treating wounds is also available on the table. Marius who was already sitting on one of the chairs was waiting for Ana to approach.

Ana hesitates to move forward, but Marius again asks her to sit in the chair in front of him. Slowly, Ana followed what Marius had asked with a questionable face.

"Give me your hand ..."

Ana took out her injured hand doubtfully. His eyes did not stop staring at the astonished Marius who was currently ignoring Ana's curious gaze. Marius, who was impatient, gently pulled out Ana's injured hand.

"Lucas said .. You're angry" Ana said.

"I was angry .. at the person who hurt you" Marius said as he rolled up Ana's sleeves.

Ana doesn't know what to say. He was already quite surprised to hear Marius' reply. Ana's shock grew as Marius cleaned her wound with an antiseptic. The pain is really unbearable.

"But, that doesn't mean I'm justifying what you're doing today" said Marius who stared intently at Ana, while his hands still continued to work on Ana's wounds.

Ana laughed nervously at Marius's gaze which seemed to be piercing her.

"Today, you're just lucky, Ana," said Marius, who now smears Ana's wound with a cream she doesn't know what it is. But her cold sensation provided a slight shock spike for Ana. Marius probably thought Ana was in pain, as he would occasionally blow the wound.

"What if what he brought today wasn't a small knife? What if you were late today? Are you gonna be okay?"

Marius sounded quite angry, but his gaze looked softer.

"Do you think Rain would be happy to see you hurt?"

"I'm not saying your efforts are free. But ..."

With great force, Marius pulled Ana's chair to get closer to her. The distance between them is now very close. The surprised Ana could only see the two eyes of Marius who was currently locking herself with that gaze.

"... I don't want there next time, Ana. Don't hurt yourself later in the day. Because ... It's not just Rain who would be unhappy."

Ana's heart didn't stop pounding. Both of Ana's eyes could not stop looking at Marius who was currently in front of her. There was no other answer Ana gave other than nodding her head. What was on his mind at the moment, Marius was really creepy when he was angry. Spookier than Naomi, scarier than she had imagined.

Suddenly Marius smiled, then Ana felt a soft touch above her head. Marius was stroking his hair.

Ana felt something pleasant from Marius' touch, especially when Marius' gaze became softer than it had been. But, why was his heart beating faster?

Ana encourages Marius to stay away from her. His breathing had stopped ever since Marius had pulled him in to get close. That's why he needs air, and also to protect his heart from beating even faster.

"Choose any place you like. The waiter will deliver food for you as well as Rain," Marius said as he cleaned up Ana's scarred trash.

"And also .. don't forget my message, Ana," Marius said with a plain smile.

Ana just nodded her head, then bowed her body as a thank you for treating her. Quickly, Ana came out and closed the door of the room.

Ana ran and stopped at one corner only to re-regulate her breathing which had not been regular. "Stop! No!," Ana ordered while beating her chest.

Unlike Marius whose smile has not been separated from his face even though Ana is not in the room. On his head was still clearly drawn Ana's face which he had just seen from a very close distance. Marius showed a triumphant smile as it managed to get him to be that close to Ana.

......................

"Good night, Mr. Marius," David said after he opened the car door for Marius.

Marius got out of his car and looked around. As usual, the old and seedy warehouse area surrounded by large trees always looked dark and silent. Because that place was indeed in the middle of a forest far from the crowd.

"Have they spoken?" asked Marius as he walked into the old barn.

"No, Mister. Mr. Lucas is with them."

Marius continued walking down the warehouse to the end. From a distance the sound of pain, the sound of punches, and also the cries of menacing people echoed into one within the empty building.

Marius gave his suit to one of his guards. He then rolled his shirt arm up.

"Which one?" asked Marius.

David pointed to a man sitting with a frightened face and with his hands tied behind his body. He still looks fine when compared to his other friends whose faces are already full of bruises.

With a quick step, Marius walked up to the man, and instantly launched a punch right on his face, over and over until the man continued to beg for mercy.

"You know what your fault is? You hurt my lover" said Marius who was pulling the man's collar.

Marius gives his bodyguard a sign to untie the man. Once released, Marius took the man's right hand and placed it on the wooden table beside him. He made sure the man's palm remained facing and stuck down.

With his other hand, Marius chose one of the fingers of the five fingers in front of him. He held the finger, then pulled it back.

"Arrgghh .. geez sir, pardon Mr. ..," the man's cry was ignored by Marius. His hand continued to do the same on the other finger.

"You've hurt the wrong people,"
