Babysitter For Rain

Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 49

Marius was sitting on a sofa in a room. His eyes kept staring intently at the door that was in front of him. He was waiting for the door to be opened by someone he was waiting for at this moment.

Marius was there for a long time. He could not bear the stinging smell of perfume that enveloped this room. Marius kept wondering, when the person he told to call that person would come through that door.

Not long after, the door opened. A young girl came in with her face full of fear. Of course he was scared, Marius' face was really scary at the moment.

"Sorry waiting too long. V-valerie will be here any minute now" said the girl, who kept bowing her body.

Right after that, Valerie walked in with the outfit she had just worn to record a singing show on a TV program.

"My assistant said you were looking for me. What was? Tumben, you even met me here. You're not afraid of the reporters making you hot news tomorrow morning?" asked Valerie casually. His hands were busy taking off all the accessories on his body. He only looked at Marius from the dressing table that was in front of him.

Marius said nothing. He just stood up, then walked over to Valerie with his angry look. Valerie, who saw that something was wrong with Marius, immediately turned her back and found Marius standing before her. He then signaled his assistant to leave them.

"A-what's up? W-why do you look so angry?," asked Valerie who was getting nervous.

"Tell me, do you know Dylan?" asked Marius who was still holding back his anger.

Valerie's facial complexion when she heard Dylan's name suddenly turned to panic. Clearly, Valerie was hiding something.

"I think you know him" asked Marius. "Tell me one more time, what did you tell Dylan about Rain?"

Valerie looks increasingly panicked. He could not look Marius in the eyes. He also did not know how he would say it to Marius who currently looked extremely angry. Because he knew, if he said it Marius' anger would not subside.

"I ... I ..." Valerie was getting scared and already started wanting to cry. He clasped both of his palms very hard.

Bug ... prank ...!

Marius's already unbearable anger pushed his hand to shatter the glass of the dressing table that was behind Valerie. Blood flowed from his fists soaking the glass.

"D-he, he is indeed the child's father ...," cried Valerie who was already feeling cornered by everything Marius did. Her tears kept coming out because of her fear. With all his courage he was finally able to bring out everything that had been on his mind all along.

"really? Then, why did you let my brother have it?"

"Because .. because Dylan won't admit the boy. Adam wanted to take responsibility, so I let Adam take him."

Marius could not believe what he had just heard. "That's what you said, Val? Don't you know, Adam strongly believes Rain is his daughter, his flesh and blood."

"A-adam himself wanted to believe the child was his flesh blood. But I'm his mother, I know better who his father is."

Once again, Marius hit the dresser that was behind Valerie. The glass fragment this time caused Marius' blood to rise.

"What did you tell Adam that he believed Rain was his son?"

"I, I didn't say anything. I'm just saying this kid's not his flesh and blood. But, but he kept insisting on saying this child was his flesh blood. He kept telling me he wouldn't let me take the kid to Dylan."

"I'm tired of trying to convince Dylan that it's his son. Hearing Adam say that, my burden was lifted. Only Adam could help me then."

"My age was 23 years, Marius. My career is at its peak. If the media finds out I have a child, my career will be over. No, no. I can't let that kid ruin my life. I am so sorry I gave birth to her. But, Adam ... she kept convincing me to give birth to that child."

"And now, after all that Adam did for you, you still dare to say that Rain is Dylan's son? Do you have any idea what Dylan did to Rain?" said Marius, whose voice was rising. Fortunately, Marius had already ordered his guards to stand guard around the corridor to forbid people from approaching the room.

"A-what's he doing?" asked Valerie.

Valerie could only be speechless hearing Marius yell at her. He has no defense for himself. She had been a bad mother for many years, and now added another 1 bad point that was put on her.

"Even in his last moments Adam kept asking me to trust him and Rain ... And I'll still trust my brother."

Marius' voice had begun to weaken. He was angry, but he didn't want to do anything anymore. Valerie's stupidity has been known for a long time. And today might be the worst, but still, if it was Valerie she shouldn't have been surprised.

"From today on, you are forbidden to set foot in my house. I forbid you to meet Rain. I won't let you ruin Rain's mind with that selfish attitude of yours. Rain is Adam's son. Point. And that's what I'm gonna explain to Rain one day."

"It should be what Adam did long ago. As soon as she brings Rain home, she shouldn't feel sorry for you just because you're her mother. Adam should have cut his ties with you at that very moment."

Marius left Valerie who could only sit on her legs. His eyes continued to open wide, though his tears continued to flow. Valerie didn't say anything when Marius left. But when Marius had already walked through the corridor, Valerie roared loudly along with her cries.

......................

Marius had just arrived home when it was too late at night. After she leaves the TV station where Valerie is located, Lucas still has to drag her to the hospital to treat the wound on her hand.

And now, the remnants of the energy he had caused his body to feel an extremely intense sense of fatigue. He did not know if his fatigue was caused after he beat Dylan or after he listened to Valerie's explanation.

Valerie ... if she remembered that name, there was only anger that would appear to gnaw at her heart. That woman .. she never changed. His selfishness destroys those around him.

In the past, Valerie was the one who destroyed her brother. The mad woman made her brother her love slave. Then he easily played with his brother. And now, when her sister is gone, Valerie even wants to harm her own child.

Right, Rain ... Marius no longer knew who he should trust now. He still remembered very well how he kept fighting Adam for doubting the boy. If Valerie had admitted it first, Marius would have easily believed it.

And now, after Dylan said it, then he confirmed it himself from Valerie's mouth, why did her heart feel so much pain when he heard it?

When he himself wants to believe it, then he feels punished by himself. Some of him who does not believe it is like hating the other part of him who believes it. Marius was beaten by himself from all sides.

And tonight, only this drink he was holding could accompany him.

"If you see this, you will surely nag me, Ana," said Marius Lirih with a bitter smile.

The bitterness to her smile surfaced as she thought about the last time she saw Ana in the hospital. "How is he gonna nag me? He doesn't even want to see me. He probably doesn't care about seeing me like this."

Marius was going upstairs, when he decided to look at Rain's situation in his room. Despite everything she heard today, Marius was still worried about Rain. He wanted to say good-bye to her, as he used to do every night when he didn't get to see her all day.

Slowly Marius opened Rain's room door. He saw the little girl lying on her bed.

Gently, Marius stroked her delicate hair, then kissed her forehead. Rain felt that. The little girl slowly opened her eyes.

"Daddy ...," call Rain up and hug Marius. "I miss her ..."

Marius could feel a warm feeling drenching his shoulders. He was sure Rain was currently crying. She must have missed Ana so much, Marius thought.

Marius could only return Rain's embrace. What could he do? Even he missed her himself. Missed him so much.

"I also miss her ..," said Marius Lirih.

Tonight, Marius fell asleep next to Rain, while he was putting her back to sleep. He was too tired to move his feet up. His last energy seemed to have been drained out just to miss Ana along with Rain.
