Babysitter For Rain

Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 68

After Valerie leaves Rain's room, Ana continues to hug Rain. Although Ana tried to lay her on the bed, Rain still did not want to let go of her embrace. Ana is forced to sit on the bed holding her, and wait for Rain to fall asleep.

But it seemed, Rain was sleeping with a feeling of alertness. When Ana tries to lay her down after falling asleep, Rain still wakes up and hugs Ana again.

"What's wrong with Rain?" asked Ana in her heart.

Marius who went in to check on Rain and Ana tried to take Rain from Ana's sling, but Rain further tightened his embrace. Even when Marius tried to persuade her, the little girl shook her head.

Marius felt helpless, but he also could not bear to see Ana who seemed to be getting exhausted. Finally he asked Tian to put down one relaxing sofa in Rain's room so that Ana could rest.

Ana felt that there must be something this little girl was thinking, so Rain acted that way. Therefore, Ana tried to talk to him.

"Did Rain want to say something to Mommy?," asked Ana gently to Rain who leaned on Ana's shoulder and turned her back to Ana's face.

Long enough Rain did not give any reaction after Ana asked him. But, Ana was still waiting for him patiently. She still continued to gently caress Rain's head, then descended rubbing her back.

Slowly, Rain shifted her head in the opposite direction until her face could be seen by Ana.

"Aunty earlier .. mommy Rain, right?"

Although Ana knew Rain had definitely heard Valerie's words earlier, Ana was still shocked when Rain asked her. He couldn't find the right words to explain it.

"Rain ...," call Ana down.

"Miss Eli used to say it a lot," replied Rain who was still in her shrewd tone.

"R-rain knows?" Ana this time was surprised because it turned out Rain had known about it all along.

Rain nodded his head.

"Tell Mommy, what is Rain thinking?," asked Ana gently.

This time, Rain raised his face to look into Ana's eyes.

"That county .. will bring Rain, right?"

Both of Rain's eyes looked teary. Shortly after, Rain's tears fell down both sides of his face.

"But, Rain ... just wanted to stay here .. same daddy ... same mommy," Rain said sobbing.

Ana reached out her hand holding onto Rain's cheek and wiped the tears away.

"Daddy and Mommy .. also want Rain to stay here" Ana said. His tears now flowed along with Rain who first cried.

At that moment, Marius went into Rain's room and approached the little girl who was sitting on Ana's lap.

Sitting on one of her legs, Marius gently stroked Rain's hair. And when Rain turned to her, Marius' hand wiped away Rain's tears which were now flowing quite profusely.

"Daddy ... won't .. drive Rain away, right?" soaked Rain. Ana who saw that was also unable to hold back her stuffing.

"This is Rain's house, too. Why should daddy drive Rain away?," said Marius softly.

"Daddy ... won't let .. aunty it .. bring Rain, right?"

"Daddy .. will continue to fight to keep Rain here" Marius said.

Ana knows Marius is entertaining Rain. He could see how Marius also had trouble explaining to Rain so that he would not misunderstand.

"... Daddy promise? ..."

With her stuffing that did not even subside, Rain pulled out her little finger. Marius greeted him later.

"I promise ..."

And this time, perhaps due to the exhaustion of crying and holding everything in his mind, Rain was finally able to sleep soundly on his own bed.

"Thankfully, the fever has gone down" Ana said as she examined Rain once again with a thermometer. "37 degrees."

Marius who was also sitting on the other side of Rain's bed, continued to look at her without saying anything. Occasionally his hands rubbed Rain's sweat which still continued to pour.

"You also rest, Ana. Don't worry about Rain. There are servants who will take turns to take care. They'll wake you up if anything happens" Marius said.

"Yes, I'll be out in a minute" Ana replied.

After Marius exited Rain's room, Ana caught up with him. But it seemed like Marius still carried a lot of things on his mind. Because when Ana came out, she saw Marius sitting in the sitting room leaning his head against one of his hands.

"What are you thinking, Marius?," asked Ana gently as she approached the man.

Marius slowly turned his head to look at Ana then grabbed Ana's hand for her to hold. He pulled her slowly to sit on her lap, then leaned on the girl's shoulder.

Ana could feel her heart beating quite fast. But his attention right now is not that. He was thinking of Marius and also ... Rains. And Ana was sure, Marius was currently thinking about it as well.

"... is ... so hard?," asked Ana. Her hand gently caressed Marius's brownish hair.

Marius only nodded his head as he answered Ana's question. And Ana stretched out her other hand to hug the man.

Ana knew very well the difficulties Marius was facing. Therefore, he only dared to promise his beloved little girl that he would not stop fighting. Because to block Valerie from taking him away won't be easy to do.

But, Ana also did not want to ask first before Marius himself would say it. Ana believes Marius needs some peace of mind to think about this moment. And he would give it away by staying beside her.

"... If Valerie did that DNA test ... what do you think I should do ... if it turns out Rain ... is not Adam's son?," asked Marius suddenly. She still remained leaning on Ana when she asked that.

"Therefore you did not do it? Because you're afraid of the outcome?" asked Ana gently. He did not let go of his embrace of Marius.

"I'm just afraid I'm disappointed in Adam. Because her love for Valerie made her blind."

"But, for someone in doubt, you raised Rain very well, Marius. You love him too, right?"

Ana's hand now grabbed Marius' face for the man to look at her. "You can't believe Rain is not Adam's son?"

Marius looked at Ana deeply. She thought about Ana's words, but then her eyes showed doubt. Marius turned his gaze in the other direction.

"Come, Ana ... What if my beliefs are wrong?"

Ana then grabbed back Marius' face to keep looking at him.

"There's no such thing as if, Marius. If you were to doubt yourself, how would you protect Rain? How are you gonna keep your promise to Rain that you're gonna fight for her?"

Marius remembered those words. The words he said to Ana when they were in the hospital. Ana reminded him again.

Marius grabbed the hand of Ana who was holding the side of her face. She kisses Ana's hand and lets it stay so for quite a long time.

"I've seen a picture of Brother Adam in your room. Ye know? When Brother Adam laughed, his eyes would form a crescent moon, just like Rain when laughing. Eli also said he saw Brother Adam as Rain laughed. Even without that test, I'm sure Rain is her daughter" Ana said.

Marius looked back at Ana. The doubt that had enveloped both of his eyes now seemed to be gone. His faith is now shining again. Ana can see Marius now finding answers to what she believes.

But, then Marius' phone rang, stopping all their conversation.

"Hm ... Have them meet me at home tomorrow morning" Marius answered the call before deciding.

"Lucas ..he reported, the lawyer had found a way to prevent Valerie from bringing Rain," Marius told Ana.

Ana's face instantly became full of happiness. "really?"

Marius nodded his head. Then her hand grabbed Ana's face. "Ehm ... Tomorrow I will call you to listen" said Marius.
