Babysitter For Rain

Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 20

After Ana found Rain in such a state, Rain seemed to return to zero. He came back not much to say as when Ana first met him.

Rain returned to answer Ana's questions with a nod and also her head. He no longer answered with long answers. Rain's smile was also increasingly rarely seen.

Ana grew increasingly anxious to see Rain become like that. He had no idea what had happened to Rain back then. But, Ana believes the events of that time are the cause.

Rain was no help at all. Ana kept asking him, but none of her questions were answered by Rain. He chose to shut up and lowered his head. Ana was getting worried about it.

Marius who knew of this matter from Ana also came to think of this matter. He tried to get Rain to chat, but the result was the same. Rain still did not want to talk.

Marius even calls a psychiatrist who usually handles Rain to find out. But even psychiatrists have not found the answer. Rain didn't say much when the psychiatrist asked.

Then, what exactly happened?

"If it was a nightmare, would it be able to affect Rain so much? He didn't even come back as much as he used to," said Ana, who looked very anxious.

"The doctor didn't say it was a nightmare. He thought something might have happened. But, when Rain was sleeping, what happened to make him like that?," asked Lucas who also thought about this problem.

"Is there anything suspicious before Rain is found?," asked Marius suddenly. "Something that may feel strange, unusual, or something out of place."

Ana recalls the moment before Ana found Rain. It all looks the same. Ana only delivers snacks in the afternoon. But ...

"Nora ...," said Ana Lirih.

"Nora?"

"Before I entered Rain's room, I met a new servant. Name's Nora. I don't know why, but I felt something strange about her when I saw her. Does this have anything to do?," asked Ana who was hesitant if it was related to Rain's problem. But, after all, this happened just before Rain's problem appeared.

"I never remember Eli making a new servant request lately" Marius said.

"Ah, I mean he said he was recently assigned to work for Rain" Rain explained.

"I'm going to have David check the CCTV footage to find out" Lucas said as he stood up to leave Ana and Marius to contact David.

"What makes you feel weird about Nora?" asked Marius.

"He doesn't look like the waiter I used to see. The way she walks, the way she dresses, the way she talks, I've never seen a waitress in this house who behaves like her" Ana explained.

"Am I thinking too negatively?"

Marius stood up from his seat and approached Ana. "We need all the clues available even if it looks impossible. Good job, Ana."

Ana felt Marius' touch above her head. Perhaps due to her over-exaggerated anxiety, she did not think too much about the sound of her heart as Marius did that. He even felt his anxiety gradually decreasing. It was calming when Marius did it.

......................

"Yes it was her ..," Ana said on CCTV footage she watched with Marius, Lucas, and also David from a laptop screen in front of her.

"I checked the tape before I brought it here. But, there was nothing strange about this servant. He just went upstairs and went straight to the playroom to clean up. After that, he came out to get off and meet Miss Ana."

Ana was silent listening to David's explanation. "Maybe it's just my feelings" Ana said in her heart.

David again confirms Lucas's question that nothing is suspicious before Ana returns to Rain's room.

Thus, their investigation returned to the original question, what happened to Rain?

"I'm going to check again this CCTV footage and the ones around it. Maybe a new lead could be found" David said again before he left Marius's study.

Seeing the investigation that had not progressed any further, Ana decided to return to Rain's room alone. He felt like he had left Rain alone for too long.

"Are you going to sleep in Rain's room again tonight?" asked Marius.

Ana nodded her head. He could not leave Rain alone after that incident. At the time he still had not found the cause for Rain to be like that.

"I'll ask Eli to prepare a temporary bed for you. Tomorrow I'll have people reorganize Rain's room, so you can sleep there as long as you want" Marius said.

"No, no. It doesn't need to be like that. I was just worried about leaving him. Rain probably wouldn't like it either if you changed his room without his permission. I'm fine."

Without waiting for a response from Marius, Ana walked out of Marius's study. While Marius was just speechless looking at Ana who came out of his room. He could understand how Ana was feeling at this moment. But he himself is still looking for that answer.

"Do you think it had anything to do with the person who terrorized Ana at the time?" Lucas asked after he confirmed Ana had actually walked out of the room.

"There is no evidence that leads there. But I don't know why I'm so sure that's true."

Marius was silent for a moment playing his fingers. His eyes looked as if he was thinking about something.

"If that's true, then this person has been in this house for a long time. He's been bothering Rain all along."

Marius brought himself closer to the photo of the waiter standing under the CCTV camera. The butler looked down as if he was avoiding the camera to highlight his face.

"Find out about a servant named Nora" Marius orders. "Don't let Eli know" he continued.

......................

Ana awakens from hearing something in the room. He forced to open his eyes to find out the origin of the sound.

"Rain?"

Ana immediately woke herself up and hugged Rain who was crying on her bed. Again, Ana found her crying and hugged her legs tightly. He hugged the little girl tightly.

"Sshh .. It was just a nightmare, baby. There's Sister Ana here, Rain don't be afraid, yes ...," said Ana to calm Rain who was still crying.

Ana's heart ached to see Rain like that. Especially when she didn't know what to do to make her feel calm.

"How can it calm her down, I don't even know what makes her like this," Ana thought.

Ana wants him to stay strong for Rain's sake, but her tears refuse to remain silent. Ana cried when she heard Rain cry. His heart is too sick.

Throughout the night, Ana lets Rain stay in her arms until the little girl falls asleep. Ana gently stroked her wet hair even though the AC in the room continued to light up.

"Sleep .. sleep, baby. Ana will stay here. Tomorrow morning when you wake up, the nightmare is gone ...," said Ana Lirih while kissing Rain's forehead who had fallen asleep.
