Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 7

"Nunuu ..."

A man greeted Rain who was running up to him and called his name. The man is Lucas, but Rain calls him Nunu. Lucas' story, from the time Rain started learning to talk, Rain always called him Nunu, for some reason. But, to Ana, this was something adorable.

Lucas was Marius' secretary. He was like an assistant to Marius. The work that Marius was supposed to do, but if it could be represented by Lucas, then Marius would assign it.

Lucas had just returned from New York to take care of a new subsidiary there representing Marius. If you can, Lucas sometimes does that to help Marius. Especially if the job required Marius to stay somewhere for quite a long time. Marius considered it because he did not want to leave Rain at home alone without her.

That was the reason why Marius had come home so quickly back then. Because if Lucas can be seen at home, that means Marius has plenty of time to be at home. Marius only had to do an appointment with some of his clients, or attend an event that did require him to attend. Sometimes he would just go to the office to complete a routine meeting with his employees.

"What are you going to do today?" asked Lucas after he kissed Rain's cheek in his arms.

Rain pointed at the bubble gun in his right hand excitedly. Ana asked Marius to buy her the toy yesterday. He was completely shocked when a servant delivered this after breakfast earlier. Rain who saw it was already excited to try it.

"Ah, Nunu also wanted to come," he said sadly which only invited Rain's laughter.

After kissing Lucas, Rain asks to get off Lucas's sling and runs towards the backyard.

"He was impatient" Lucas said again.

"He's always been that way if he's going to play in the yard" Ana said with a small laugh.

"All because of your idea. Thank you, Ana."

Ana did not expect it when Lucas said it. From the look in her eyes, Ana saw sincerity as Lucas said that. Although Lucas is only a secretary, Ana can see his great affection for Rain.

Ana is surprised then laughs to see Rain who keeps jumping to call Ana to immediately catch up with her. "It looks like he called you. Hope you're not overwhelmed with him" Lucas said.

"Ah, no, no. I'm enjoying. Sorry I stayed first. Rain, wait ...," Ana said as she ran after Rain who had already left Ana.

Ana takes off her fatigue for a while after a day of playing with Rain. While waiting for Rain to finish the bath, Ana sat for a while on her mattress while drying her hair with a towel.

Recalling the fun moments of play earlier made Ana smile knot. Rain continued to run around as if his fatigue would never run out. He laughed so hard. So long ago Ana lived here, only today did Ana see Rain laugh like that. "Ah, she's so sweet," she said softly.

Ana suddenly remembered the video she had taken while playing with Rain. He intended to send it to Marius, so that Marius could also have memories of Rain, he thought.

Although Marius was working at home, Ana did not see him out of her study today. "Maybe there's still a lot to work out, even if Lucas is back" Ana thought. So, according to him, a little video who knows can be a cure for fatigue when he is not busy later.

"But where did I put my phone?"

Ana opens her desk drawer where she usually puts her things. But, he didn't find it. He also looked for her in the bathroom, but was not found. "Where do I put it, huh?, he asked in wonder.

Ana starts moving into her bed. Sliding pillow that has been neatly arranged. His hand also tried to feel the surface of the bed cover, fearing that the phone was underneath. Still, Ana did not find him.

Finally, Ana sees the towel she threw carelessly on the mattress when she was going to look for her phone. "Could it be there?" he thought. Despite the doubt, Ana tried it anyway.

Ana tried to feel the surface first, and it turned out to be true, there was something underneath. Ana quickly held onto the blanket as well as the object behind it. "Ha, finally met," he said satisfied.

Ana's eyes suddenly widened, her breathing rapidly hunting, her face turning pale. Ana could feel her heart beating very fast, instantly her hands shaking violently.

The trembling in her hand made Ana's body instantly limp and drop the thing from her hand.

Ana became breathless when she heard a loud bang from her phone that had just hit the floor tile. Ana falls to the floor with pain in her chest. His head began to spin rapidly, and his eyes felt heavy.

Before Ana closes her eyes, she still sees Rain walk into her room in her favorite cute dress. With her beautiful smile, Rain called out her name. It sounded soothing, but the pain in her head could not make Ana's feelings improve.

A second later, Ana hears Rain's screaming voice calling her name many times. Ana wanted to say something so she wouldn't worry about him. But his eyes were too heavy. Faintly, Ana sees Rain running away leaving her, and then her vision darkens. Ana no longer knows what happened.

Side Story :

"I don't know, Rain has that much energy" said Lucas, who had just entered Marius's study.

Marius was silent at Lucas's statement. But indeed, even Marius had never expected that Rain could be that happy.

Lucas approached Marius who was standing in front of a large window, where he could see his backyard clearly. That's where he saw Ana and Rain running around chasing the bubble they shot.

"So, your worries are lessened a bit, right?," asked Lucas in a teasing tone. Marius looked at him in wonder.

"You're afraid Ana doesn't feel at home here" she explained, greeted with Marius' sharp gaze. Lucas just laughed.

"In hindsight, Rain's reserved nature was actually from you," Lucas said resentfully. "I've been talking, you didn't even say anything."

"I'm not asking you to talk" Marius said as he walked away from Lucas to his desk.

Lucas looked very upset.

"Have you heard of the kidnappers?" asked Marius suddenly.

Marius waited long enough for Lucas to answer, but Lucas remained silent and did not answer his question. When Marius saw him, Lucas only shrugged both of his shoulders.

"I'm asking you, that means I'm asking you to talk" Marius said with great annoyance.

Lucas smiled triumphantly. He immediately finished his joke or else Marius would be really very angry.

"There is still no bright spot. The license plate number also turned out to be fake.Police is also still studying the CCTV footage. Because some of the footage looks unclear. So, they're going to look for another tape" Lucas explains, handing him a brown envelope with a stack of documents inside.

"Do something so that they may hasten their investigation" Marius ordered.

Lucas marks with his finger that he understands Marius' orders.

"Does Rain still not want to go to school?" asked Lucas.

"He didn't say anything else after that" Marius replied.

Both of them were silent and said nothing.
