CHAPTER 35

"I said step aside!," cried Valerie raising her hand upwards.

When Ana sees Valerie's hand movements, she knows Valerie will slap her. Reflexively, he closed both his eyes, and prepared to take a punch from Valerie.

"Enough, Val! I won't listen to anything from you if you touch it."

Marius' voice sounded loud enough to all corners of the room. Ana who was still boisterous hearing the voices of those who were there calling her name, was no longer heard. Even Valerie was no longer shouting.

Ana opened her eyes and looked for the origin of Marius' voice. He saw Marius walking down the stairs in a different outfit from last night. As Ana remembers, Marius was lying with his shirt last night. But now he is wearing a white t-shirt and jogger pants that he used to wear everyday when at home. It seemed, Marius had changed his clothes before leaving his room.

"Where is he from? She wasn't in her room" Ana thought.

Marius' face still looked pale. From the way she walked, Ana could see her body still feeling weak. But, he forced it to look strong in front of everyone, especially in front of Valerie.

"Take Valerie into my study, I'll be there soon" Marius told Tian.

Tian immediately carried out Marius' orders. Meanwhile, Valerie who despite looking annoyed, still followed Tian.

"You're okay? Is it still a fever?" asked Ana as Valerie left. His hand was immediately touched to Marius' forehead.

In a slow motion, Marius held Ana's hand away from her forehead. "I'm fine already" said Marius softly.

"Go to Rain's room. He's looking for you. I'm new from there, because I see you must be exhausted."

"You .. don't have to do that. Your doctor said you need a lot of rest," said Ana in a soft tone. He lowered his head to hide his voice. But, Marius heard Ana's nagging, and he smiled hearing her.

"I'll be back in the room as soon as I take care of Valerie" Marius said as he walked away from Ana. But, Ana felt Marius' hand land on top of her head as she walked.

Ana sees Marius leaving the room with Lucas following behind her. Lucas tells Ana not to worry about Marius before he follows Marius.

Ana doesn't know what Valerie wants. But he had a hunch, talking to Valerie would definitely be exhausting.

"Any, Rain ..."

Ana suddenly recalled Marius' message. Rain's looking. Immediately, Ana ran upstairs to Rain's room. It's time for the boy to go to school.

"Now I'm here. What do you want to say?"

Marius looked at Valerie who was sitting before him at this moment. His head still feels heavy. But, she has to face Valerie, or this woman will go crazy.

"Why did you cancel my contract with FNZ Airlines? You can't do that, Marius. I've been working with them for a long time."

"I thought Lucas told you. FNZ is no longer part of DYNE. I've sold it. So, it's FNZ's right to sever your relationship. I can't interfere with their decision."

"You did it on purpose, right? You know I still have a contract there. But you sold it."

"What do you think I have, Val? The decision to sell the FNZ was decided by a vote of the board of commissioners. FNZ is just a subsidiary that's no longer profitable for DYNE, so they agreed to sell it."

"You lied! How can you say it is not profitable. I heard they're looking for a new BA whose contract value is greater than mine."

"That's their marketing plan, Val. And it's none of my business."

" No, no. They'll replace me with a new artist that hasn't even debuted in a year. I will be defeated by a new artist, Marius. You can't do this to me. Everyone in the entertainment industry will look down on me."

"It's their right to recruit who will be their new face. I had nothing to do with anything they planned themselves."

"If Adam were alive ..."

"Even if Adam were alive, he would do the same. And don't bring Adam into this. When Adam was not even you still whined at him. Where's your shame, Val?"

"But Adam would do anything for me. She knows I'm the child's mother."

"You still dare to call yourself mother?" said Marius growled. His eyes glared at Valerie who was before him, signaling his emotions had already completely peaked. He really didn't expect Valerie to bring this up.

"You don't even want to say his name. And you call yourself mother?"

Valerie was almost frightened to see both of Marius' eyes. He knew Marius at this moment was already really angry. He realized this was no longer the time to continue their conversation.

"Aahh, yes already .. if you don't want to help me. I'm not going to force anymore" Valerie said, ending the topic.

Marius was too tired to continue. He hopes Valerie gets out of here soon.

"But help me one more time" continued Valerie.

Marius closed his eyes and regulated his breathing. She knew Valerie would continue to bother her until her wish was achieved. I don't know when he should hold back his emotions.

"Select me as BA for shopping mall owned by DYNE which will be completed soon. At least it'll raise my popularity again" Valerie pinta.

"Out ..."

Marius was on the verge of his patience. He can't hold it anymore. The pain in his head was constantly throbbing making him unable to focus anymore.

"You kicked me out?" asked Valerie who did not believe in Marius' treatment.

"Get out!," snapped Marius.

Lucas, who had been there, dragged Valerie out of Marius's study. Even though Valerie didn't like it, Lucas continued to pull his arm violently.

Valerie kept shouting to let go of Lucas' grip, but the man wouldn't listen to her. She kept pulling Valerie up to Marius' doorstep.

"Let go!" cried Valerie pulling her arm. He massaged his arm slowly as if it hurt because of Lucas' grip.

"Back, Val. And don't meet Marius just yet, until Marius is completely at ease."

"What's? You guys really kicked me out?" asked Valerie who still did not believe the treatment she had received.

"Listen, Val. Don't make a fuss before you regret it. Follow Marius' orders."

Lucas called the bodyguard in the front area of Marius' house before he left Valerie. He had to make sure Valerie didn't come back to bother Marius in the meantime.

"Take this Miss to her car. Make sure he doesn't come back. Even tomorrow if he comes back, make sure he stays out the gate."

"What?!?," cried Valerie again.

"Okay, sir," replied the guards.

And again, Valerie was dragged back by the bodyguards to her car. Although he continued to shout, but not a single bodyguard paid him any heed. They actually made sure Valerie got out of the area of Marius' house.

"Has he gone?" asked Marius when he saw Lucas entering his study.

"It has. I asked the bodyguards to drag him in" Lucas replied. He noticed Marius who still looked limp. Clearly, his energy was completely drained from his anger earlier.

"How about FNZ?" asked Marius suddenly.

"His condition improved even more after a new artist named Sky signed a contract. The market views Sky as a positive value for FNZ, due to the viral news about Sky contributing all of its latest album sales profits to the underprivileged family. And also a viral photo of Sky wearing a janitor's uniform while helping clean up the city park."

"FNZ needs Sky to raise public confidence as a friendly airline that was lost due to the Valerie scandal. Keep doing as planned. And make sure Valerie doesn't know about this plan."
