"Good day, Mr. Marius."
Marius looked at Noel who was standing near the door of the VIP room of a fancy restaurant. Both of his eyes looked at Noel with astonished looks. He only knew today was the schedule of his meeting with Mr Fernando, Noel's grandfather, but he did not expect that Noel would have that meeting with him.
"Sorry, yeah. I got out of the hospital late because there were so many patient visits today. Not to mention jamming at this hour. I hope I don't make you wait too long" Noel explained casually in the middle of Marius's gaze that could not be said to be relaxed.
Marius gave a sign to the waiter who was waiting in the room to give the menu book to Noel. "Cappucino alone" he said, handing back the menu.
"Hm ... How to explain it, huh? I know you must be surprised because I came and not my grandfather. But, he asked me to come because in the future he wanted me to keep doing that" Noel explained.
"My grandfather as you know, he's old. He wanted to enjoy his old age abroad. Therefore, he handed over the DYNE shares he had to me. He said it was his legacy before he died."
Noel sighed slowly. "I told you many times not to say that."
"So you will take the place of Mr Fernando?" asked Marius.
"That's ... Legality issues are still being taken care of by lawyers" Noel replied.
"So ... what makes Mr. Marius want to meet with ... my grandfather?," asked Noel after the waiter who delivered his order out of the room.
"I'll just go straight. About the upcoming board of commissioners meeting. I asked for your help to be on my side during the voting process. In exchange, I will give a corresponding advantage in accordance with this cooperation," explained Marius. His firm attitude when saying that made it hard for people to doubt everything Marius said.
"Is this about your engagement? Because Mr. Barnett recently met me and said the same thing as you," Noel said after he sipped the coffee in front of him.
"You will consider his offer?," asked Marius after a while they fell silent.
"Of course .. I'm just a doctor. I don't really know about this kind of business. I prefer to enjoy the results. When it comes to business, I can't say Mr. Barnett's offer is disappointing." explains Noel, who is still relaxed.
"My grandfather also always said he liked you a lot. Therefore at every board meeting he always supports you. But unfortunately .. I'm not my grandfather."
"I haven't heard an offer from you. But I'm sure Mr. Barnett's offer gives me more advantage. Although he didn't mention it, but I'm sure that if I support you, you won't be able to give me this advantage."
Marius began to feel tension all over his body. His eyes began to show that he did not like what he was hearing.
"Are you talking about Ana?" asked Marius.
Noel sipped his coffee again. He said nothing after that. Just stared straight at Marius from behind his glasses. There was no hate or anger there. Just looking.
"I will support you in the board meeting, provided ..you give Ana to me" Noel said.
Unlike Marius who continued to show his anger, Noel still maintained his calm and relaxed attitude.
"It seems like this conversation doesn't need me to continue anymore. Please do what you want to do. I won't agree on anything."
Marius was about to get out of his seat when he heard Noel laughing and confused him.
"Haha .. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Sit down" said Noel.
Marius, who had just raised his body, was now sitting back on his seat. He folded his hands as if he was waiting for Noel to give his explanation.
"Haha ... Sorry, sorry. I really like Ana. But I know who he really likes. If I do that, I'm sure he'll stay away from me." Noel's laughter still dominated the room they were in.
"I will support you. My grandfather also said so," Noel continued. "But I keep filing terms."
"If about Ana ..." Before Marius could finish, Noel cut the sentence.
"Allow me to have dinner with him."
Marius stared intently at Noel. He paused for a moment thinking of another offer he could make.
"I know you helped him from the fans, and always accompanied him. I will compensate you for that as my gratitude" said Marius.
"Come .. for three hours only. Just dinner," whine Noel.
"Or do you want me to donate to one of your hospitals?" said Marius, who still insisted on his decision.
"OK, okay .. two hours." Noel was not inferior to his offer either.
"okay! Agree!," exclaimed Noel as he extended his hand.
"Only if Ana agrees. Otherwise, you must not force it, and it is your own loss" Marius said.
Noel agrees, and Marius accepts Noel's hand-in-chief, looking satisfied with the deal. But Marius, he regretted it enough.
Shortly after, Marius' phone rang. He looks surprised when he sees the name seen in his phone is Ana.
"Hello ... What's the matter? ... Rain? ... Okay, relax. I'll call the doctor" Marius said.
"What's wrong? Rain is sick?," asked Noel after Marius disconnected the call. From what he heard, that was all he could deduce.
"Ehm .. he has a fever" replied Marius.
"Come on, if that's it. We're going to your house now."
Marius forgets that Noel is also a doctor. He looked surprised for a moment when Noel took the initiative to take him home.
In the end, in their respective cars, Marius and Noel left the restaurant.
......................
Ana looked at Noel who was currently examining Rain with a worried look. Rain's face looked pale due to his high fever. Ana still had time to measure it, 39 degrees. Pretty high for a kid Rain's age. Therefore, he panicked and contacted Marius.
He was quite surprised when he saw Marius coming home with Noel. But he didn't want to know any more. For him, Noel was also a doctor, as long as it could help Rain, then anyone would not matter.
"It's okay. Just the common cold. The weather has been very bad lately" Noel explained as he tidied his equipment into his bag.
"I'll prescribe medication for his fever and colds" Noel continued.
Ana was still sitting on the lip of Rain's bed while continuing to hold her tiny hand. Marius who was standing behind her continued to gently caress Ana's hair to calm her down.
"Rain has to eat a lot, yeah. Although it does not taste good, it is still forced to eat, so that it heals quickly, yes," Noel told Rain. The little girl only nodded weakly to answer him.
After everything was done, Noel finally said goodbye and Marius took him out. Ana is still with Rain.
"Rain wants to eat something?" asked Ana. But Rain shook his head.
"Rain wants what? Say the same sister Ana yes," said Ana who was still looking at him worriedly.
Rain simply looked at Ana with his withered gaze. He looks limp. But Rain tried to get up and stood hugging Ana.
"Mommy ... Can I call you mommy?" asked Rain weakly. His head rested on Ana's shoulder.
Just as Rain asked that, Marius had just returned from delivering Noel. He who heard Rain say that, only let out a faint smile.
"Sure, of course, dear ...," replied Ana enthusiastically, but with tears falling from both.
Ana hugged Rain gently. She still remembered Rain was currently sick, and did not dare to hug her tightly.
Shortly thereafter, Rain fell asleep on his own. Perhaps exhausted by her lack of energy while sick, Rain quickly fell asleep in Ana's arms. Slowly, Ana put him to bed. Marius helped open Rain's blanket so that it could be worn over Rain.
Slowly, Rain's bedroom door opened, and Lucas looked inside.
"Magar ... Val ... insisted on meeting" whispered Lucas.
"What do you want?" asked Marius, who also whispered.
"He ..." Lucas looked doubtful as he glanced towards Ana.
"Say," Marius said as if it didn't matter to him if Ana heard him.
"He wants to talk about custody."
Ana immediately looked at Marius who seemed to be holding back her anger. "What does Valerie want?," asked Ana in her heart.
