CHAPTER 50

Ana wakes up in the middle of the night with tears streaming down her cheeks. The dream that had just awakened her seemed so real to her that she could not hold back her tears.

"Rain ...," call Ana down.

He just dreamed it. The little girl was hugging him, then calling his name many times. And also ... Marian. Marius is there. The man smiled at her. Ana could not stop looking at him even if it was only in a dream.

Ana awakens from a sudden longing that strikes her. It all looks so real. Ana even felt a touch of Rain as she hugged her. When thinking about it, even Ana's tears couldn't stop flowing.

Slowly, Ana stood up from her bed so as not to wake Naomi who was asleep beside her. He walked towards his bedroom window just to look at the night sky. Every time he did that, it meant that his heart was not doing well.

Ana closes her eyes and returns to get a shadow of Marius's face. Smile ... He still clearly remembered Marius' smile in the dream. But, why? Why was he able to stare at Marius for so long in a dream, but it was so difficult when he looked at him directly?

Ever since she woke up in the hospital, Ana had all her childhood memories. He never knew that there were still other memories hiding in his brain. And from then on, he remembered how he used to worship Marius so much.

No, Ana doesn't mind all that. Ana does not regret the fact that they once knew each other. What Ana regrets is why her memory of Marius was restored, but it gives her another memory that makes her avoid the man. He couldn't even look at her properly.

Ana just wants to be like she used to be, when she doesn't remember anything. Where she could stare at him longer as much as she wanted, without having to fear the flash reappeared.

That flash ... Just imagine Ana was already scared. Sometimes Ana could see when Marius left her alone. Sometimes he also saw a snake standing before him as it was that night.

Although just a flash of it appeared could already make both of his hands tremble. It was a long time ago, shouldn't he be able to forget? Or at least reduce their fear.

"New nightmare?"

Ana is shocked when Naomi's hand touches both shoulders. It turns out that his best friend woke up not seeing Ana beside him.

"Or is your head hurting again?" he asked again in a panicked tone.

Naomi was that sweet if Ana was sick. Especially now, when his head was injured, even though it was only an external wound due to the impact of that time. But Naomi panics as if Ana's wounds could cause Ana to die.

"I'm fine, Nao," said Ana to calm Naomi down. "His doctor told you, it's just an external wound, scuffed doang, Nao."

"Don't underestimate the abrasions, Ana. It's in the head, you know. What if it was bleeding?"

"Yes at most just ..," Ana replied while demonstrating the style of the dead, then laughed.

Of course, Naomi hit his arm. "Don't joke, Ana!," he snapped. But, Ana still continued to laugh.

The night is still long, but Ana and Naomi are not sleepy anymore. They finally decided to open the door of Ana's room facing the terrace of her house, then sit together there while chatting. This was their habit from childhood.

"What dream? Bad one? Until your eyes swell," asked Naomi while sipping the hot chocolate milk they had just made .

Ana bent her knees and hugged her. He put his chin on his knee. "I can't say it was a nightmare. Actually it looks very beautiful," said Ana whose face suddenly looks blushed.

"I walked on the beach with Rain, and also ... Marian. We ... take Rain."

Naomi immediately understood what her best friend was feeling right now. Sipping back his chocolate milk, he said, "You miss them."

Still between her knees, Ana nods her head, then drowns her in between.

"But I can't see Marius ..." Ana's voice trembled as she said it. "I want to see them."

Although Ana does not show her face, Naomi knows that Ana is crying. He pushed his right hand and placed it over Ana's head. Slowly, she gently stroked Ana's head.

"What are you doing with Marius?" asked Naomi. While in the hospital several times he saw Ana avoid looking at Marius. Every time Ana did that, Naomi almost thought they were fighting. But when Naomi asked Marius, even the man didn't know why Ana was acting that way.

"I remember everything, Nao," replied Ana, who was still hiding under her knees.

"You mean remember everything?"

Ana turned her head and looked into Naomi's eyes. "I remember all that night Marius and I were taken into the forest" she said.

"Isn't that good?" said Naomi, who doesn't understand the connection between Ana's memory and Marius's. If you remember, shouldn't Ana be able to freely be with Marius. "The old boy will certainly like him a lot, too" Naomi thought.

"Every time I look at him, I always remember what happened that night. And every time I remember it, both my hands tremble. My heart was like it was beating hard" said Ana, who leaned back on her knees.

"But you're not hysterical." Naomi suddenly says a sentence that Ana does not understand. "You're just shaking, aren't you?"

Ana nodded her head.

"You also don't show panic attack reactions or excessive fear, like when you see a snake. It could be, you're just surprised, because your memory just recovered."

"That's it. Once you're completely healed, I'll take you to see a psychiatrist."

"Am I going to get well, Nao? I was also tired every time I had to feel scared," asked Ana who was already feeling weak to imagine it.

"Hopefully. Who knows can also overcome your ophidiophobia. Because it all has to do with your memory. Let's just pray."

"Nao ... Don't tell anyone about this. At least until I'm completely healed."

Marius spoke in a quite serious tone on his phone. After that last sentence, he closed the call.

But Marius thought different things. It doesn't matter if Ana only misses Rain, most importantly now, she and Ana are not getting away. Rain is among them.

"What about the people in the old barn? Is everything finished?" asked Marius to switch their conversation.

"Already, already. The thugs have been handed over to the police. Our lawyers are there to make sure they will just say as we ordered. So they won't say anything about us and everything they've heard there. Their average sentence is only 1-2 months, because you only give them a mild criminal charge."

"That's enough for them to think about their mistakes in prison. What about Dylan and Ted?"
