Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 76

The journey to the hospital is not a short one, although the car Ana was riding was driven very fast by Marius.

They followed the ambulance that was carrying Rain. The sound of ambulance sirens continued to roar during the journey until it split the road in two, so that the ambulance could continue to go past the other riders.

Ana is usually very afraid if she is in a speeding vehicle, but this time she does not pay attention to it all. His eyes kept locking the ambulance wherever he moved. Marius did not even let the ambulance disappear from his sight.

Ana immediately went down and ran after Rain who would be taken somewhere. In the crowd of people in white suits, Ana saw the figure of Noel.

"I happen to be here, so I'll handle Rain. We will do the examination first, then later the next action will be decided. You guys wait here. I'll be right back."

So Noel said before he finally disappeared in the long hallway along with the doctors and nurses who brought Rain with them.

Marius who came after immediately hugged Ana who was sitting on both feet. The worst shadow when he saw Rain being taken away made it difficult for him to hold back his tears even though he kept forcing him not to come down. In that instant, both of his legs lost their strength.

Shortly after, Naomi and Lucas come together. Seeing Naomi coming, Marius got up from his seat and let Naomi be with Ana.

As they wait for Noel or whoever comes out to give news to those waiting, Ana sees Valerie standing glued to the face that Ana does not understand.

"Is he sad? Shouldn't be, right? Why would he care if something happened to Rain? He didn't even care if Rain was sad", Ana thought.

Ana moved from her seat. With a flickering step, he walked over to Valerie.

"Why is your look like that? Why are you surprised?" asked Ana. Both hands grabbed Valerie's clothes, then pulled her.

"This is what you want? Is this what you want? You just want Dylan, don't you?" cried Ana, who came back crying.

Valerie just silently accepted all of Ana's anger. She no longer looked as good at words as she used to be when Ana asked her to stop hurting Rain.

Then Marius came to Ana. She hugs him and asks him to let Valerie go. Not to protect Valerie from Ana, but to protect Ana from the anger that will make her even more devastated.

Right at that moment, in his blue scrub outfit, Noel went out to meet Ana and Marius.

"His current condition is absolutely critical. There is severe bleeding in the chest and abdomen. We need to have an operation as soon as possible before it clumps up and makes it worse."

Ana took her breath at once upon hearing Noel's explanation. He could not imagine the pain Rain had to endure at this moment.

"Do. Do whatever it takes to save her," said Marius who may seem calm, but his voice sounded otherwise.

"But we're going to need a lot of blood during this surgery. And this time ..."

"I'm AB positive!" cried Ana, without waiting for Noel to finish his sentence. She still remembers Rain's blood type from the file Marius sent her when she first became Rain's nanny.

"I'm-I'm A," Valerie said suddenly. "Can, right?"

"We'll check first" Noel said, ordering the nurses to take Ana and Valerie with them.

Marius, who turns out to be blood type B, follows them later.

"I'm going to find another donor. Maybe we'll need more of this" Lucas said before Marius left.

"Me too" said Naomi.

Marius just nodded his head. But, in her heart, she was very grateful for everything Lucas and Naomi did.

After five hours of surgery, Noel went out to see Ana and Marius, who were waiting for their blood.

"The operation works. His heart stopped once. Thank goodness he could come back. Right now we can only wait for him to pass his critical period. If he can get through it, everything will be fine" Noel explained.

And now, the critical time that Rain must face. After going through all of that on the operating table, was he now able to get through it?

Noel seemed to understand what Ana was thinking. She held onto both of Ana's shoulders, making her stand up straight to look at her.

"Rain is a strong boy. He has a life spirit. It's not easy to bring him back. But, he's back. When he returned, he called Mommy. You know who he means. And I'm sure that's why it came back. So .. trust him."

Both of Ana's eyes shone not because of her tears, but because of her trust in Rain. Ana begins to have confidence that Rain will pass her.

Noel smiled at the change. She let go of her grip and let Ana share her trust in Marius who was beside her.

"I'll tell the nurse to let you in for a little while. Tell him something, even if he hasn't opened his eyes. He will definitely hear it," Noel said one last time before he went back inside.

The sound of the monitor machine dominated the entire room. Ana who was wearing special clothes when entering the room walked slowly towards Rain who was now lying helpless.

Both eyes are closed. His mouth and nose were covered in a ventilator mask. The infusion flowed through a small hose that pierced the back of his tiny hand.

Ana's tears came down slowly, but she removed them immediately. Ana did not want herself to be weak for now. He strengthened himself again.

Slowly, Ana approached Rain. Grabbing her tiny hand, then holding it. Gently, he rubbed the place where the infusion needle stabbed him. I wish the pain would be less when he did that.

"Hurry to your senses, Rain ... We will go home after this" said Ana Lirih.

Ana's tears rolled down her face again. But then he immediately deleted it. Marius who was behind her held both sides of Ana's shoulders as if giving her strength. Ana straightened her body again.

After a while of being inside, Ana and Marius finally came out and waited in the waiting room. Naomi and Lucas are still there. And so did Valerie.

Naomi gives a glass of milk and a box of food to Ana. Apparently he went to buy food when Ana and Marius went inside.

Ana notices Naomi's food box. She then noticed Valerie who was sitting alone at the other end of the waiting room.

Suddenly Ana felt Naomi's hand rub her back. Naomi just nodded her head, Ana can understand Naomi's intentions.

Ana then stood up to Valerie with the lunchbox and drink that Naomi had given her. She stood in front of Valerie until Valerie looked at her, then she offered the food and drink.

Valerie, who was only looking at Ana, did not know whether to accept or reject the gift. But Ana did not wait for him to answer. He simply placed it on Valerie's lap, then left it, without saying anything.

Valerie then shed her tears as Ana left. He opened the box and fed himself with tears.

From a distance, Ana only smiles to see Valerie eating her food. Then enjoy the food yourself.

A few hours later, Ana who fell asleep in Marius' lap woke up because Noel came back to give his latest news.

"Rain is conscious" Noel said with his face.

Ana was happy to hear that. He almost jumped up in excitement because of this news.

"And she wants to meet mommy and her daddy."
