Babysitter For Rain

Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 17

"What is this?," asked Marius astonished at seeing Ana put some brown envelopes and other sheets of paper on her desk. Marius also saw some photos among the papers.

Lucas also looked curious, then peeked at some of the brown envelopes.

"It's from the mothers at Rain's school. They left it for me. They say, choose one to be your young wife or wife. So, let me know right away if you've decided. They were waiting for the answer from me" explained Ana at length who greeted Lucas with a stifled laugh.

"Group ..."

Marius glanced at Lucas.

"I can't believe it. They made me your dating agency agent as well as the messenger," Ana was annoyed at Marius.

"Since when have you accepted things like this?," asked Marius who was no less upset.

"I don't want to do it either. But, they keep forcing me."

Marius inhaled a long breath of air from his nose, then threw it away slowly. It was seen that he was holding back his anger. Lucas was still holding back his laughter.

"You don't know how many fans there are. I was thinking, do I need to withdraw the membership fee, huh?"

Lucas could not help his laughter. He laughed out loud.

"HAHA ..."

Marius glanced at Lucas. But Lucas didn't care.

"Whatchu mean? Is the salary I give you still lacking?" asked Marius angrily.

"No really. But, I think this could be a lucrative side business."

"You ..."

Lucas laughed even harder. Marius's study room was filled with the sound of Lucas' laughter.

"Listen, Ana. Give this back to them. Tell them, you won't accept things like this anymore."

"I've rejected it, but they keep saying, 'have you, I'll give you tips', '" Ana said, mimicking the mothers' style of speech.

"Awha ... Don'worry. You will get the answer soon. Hahaha ...," said Lucas who still couldn't stop laughing.

Marius continued to glare at Lucas upon hearing his words. He continued to massage the base of his nose to lower his emotions that had now reached the crown.

......................

Waiting for Rain to come home from school is an upsetting time for Ana when she has to respond to questions from mothers asking about the progress of their applications.

Although Ana has said many times that Marius is still choosing her, they still urge Ana to remind Marius.

"Did they forget I was just a nanny here? Where am I of that kind?" Ana wrote in her heart.

And, from the quiet afternoon it suddenly disappeared, as the old men in the waiting room made a furore.

"Eh, uh ... There's Mr. Marius ..."

Ana is shocked when they call Marius' name. It wasn't uncommon for Marius to come to Rain's school at hours like this.

From a distance, Ana can see Marius and Lucas being surrounded by mothers. Ana could also hear them saying many things to Marius. Some were teasing Marius, some were asking their proposal. Some even tried to talk to him.

Ana snorted softly and turned around ignoring the crowd caused by Marius. Like the guy here, just let him take care of himself, Ana thought.

"Darling ..."

Ana is quite surprised to hear Marius say dear. He turned around only to find out who the person he called dear was.

Ana was unable to shake that shock as she watched Marius continue walking towards her.

"Darling ..."

As Marius approached her, Marius smoothly grabbed Ana's face and held it, then kissed Ana's forehead.

Ana's eyes continued to widen as if both of them were going to come out of place.

"You've gone mad, have you?" whispered Ana loudly.

Marius drew himself closer to Ana's ear, and whispered, "I'm just helping to ease your work. They won't ask you to do that ridiculous job again after this."

"But they will kill me tomorrow" whispered Ana again.

Ana peeked out from behind Marius' body. He could see the cold gazes of the mothers directly piercing towards him.

"Mommy ..."

Like a brick falling on her head, Ana was speechless as Rain came running and hugged Ana, then called her with a mommy call.

"Let's go home, baby ..." Marius holds Rain, then he grabs Ana's hand and pulls her out of Rain's school.

Ana could only bow and follow Marius. He chose not to look at the mothers who were currently looking at him. Ana also had a peek at Lucas who was satisfied to laugh behind the crowd of mothers.

"You taught Rain, didn't you?" asked Ana annoyedly, as they were already in Marius' car. Rain just sits and giggles between Ana and Marius.

Marius himself only smiled cynically triumphantly especially when he saw such a giggling Rain. Lucas who sat in front also looked very satisfied laughing.

"After all, your tumben is here at this hour?" asked Ana.

"There's a place I need to go. You and Rain will come along" replied Marius whose smile was now not as wide as it was.

Ana wonders where Marius will take her. Especially when Marius had to be so serious as to say it to Ana.

......................

Funeral. Marius takes Ana and Rain to a cemetery.

The journey is not easy for Ana, because they have to walk up far enough to get to a tomb that Ana does not know who it is. Marius said the tomb they were going to was at the top. And Ana had trouble taking her breath, but only halfway through.

Rain seems to be having fun with this trip. He continued to run around as if his energy was still filled. Lucas walked behind Rain, as if guarding him.

As for Marius, either he was tired or not strong, but he was walking quite slowly. His walking speed almost matched Ana's. But, his face showed no signs of exhaustion. He looks so calm.

"Ah, stupid, the important thing is that I'm not left behind" Ana thought.

Arriving at the top, Ana sees a very beautiful hilly view. Right in the middle of the vast meadow, there was a tomb overlooking the hills.

Ana approached the tombstone and read it.

Adam Desmond Hadinata's

August 26th, 1985 - September 10th, 2019

"10 September ... That's today ...," Ana thought.

"He is Adam, my brother."

Ana looked at Marius who was currently standing in front of the tomb.

"Hey, it's me, mon frere. Today I come to see you, with Rain, your one and only daughter."

Ana was shocked to hear what Marius had just said in front of her brother's grave. So, Rain's not Marius' son?
