Babysitter For Rain

Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 3

"Restaurant?"

Ana is taken to a fancy restaurant by the men who came to her house this afternoon. They were the same people Ana met yesterday. And since they were unable to meet her papa, they asked Ana to come with them.

Initially, Anna refused the request. Ana's mind was already out of mind thinking about what they would do to Ana if she went with them. But they said they would take Ana to someone they called the Great Lord, the one who would decide how Ana paid off her papa debts. Anna had no choice but to go with them.

During the trip, Ana keeps wondering where she will be taken. He had imagined that he would be taken to a remote place where no one knew, or to a rundown, worn-out warehouse, or even on the brink where if the Great Lord is angry, they only need to push Ana to the abyss.

But, it's a restaurant, fancy anyway. Ana knows this place. Several times he was invited by his clients to hold meetings here.

As the name suggests, "Lorenzo Vins" is a restaurant owned by French chef Lorenzo who provides cuisine and wine typical of his country. This place is exclusive. Only certain people can enter it. This restaurant only accepts reservations from customers.

The room inside is quite large. There are only a few tables arranged at a distance. In the middle of the room was a circular oval bar with a bartender inside.

Ana sees a man sitting at the end of the bar enjoying a drink in his small glass. The man in his black sleeveless slim fit suit wrapped in his white shirt. His field body was clearly visible even though he was sitting down. For a few seconds, Ana found the man staring at her as he passed the bar.

The man doesn't look so old. Ana estimates he's 30, maybe more. His face is handsome, looks not like a native Indonesian. His eye line is sharp. His jawbone formed his face looking firm. Although she was sitting, Ana thought she was about 170 centimeters tall, probably less. The man smiled looking at Ana. Her thin and wide lips put a smile on her handsome face.

"Welcome, Ana ...," the man greeted Ana with his deep voice.

"You're their Great Lord, right? What do you want?" asked Ana.

The man laughed at Ana's question. "Sit down first" said the man, allowing Ana to sit on the bar stool next to him.

"Call me ... Marian. I .. hmm .. Just say, me and Mr. Doni are co-workers."

"Where did you know my father?" asked Ana.

"Hm ... Where will I start? ... Just say it like this ... I am well known as a provider of capital for entrepreneurs. Those who need a lot of capital will definitely come to me" replied Marius.

"Rentenir you mean," Ana said with her tone and sharp gaze.

Marius laughed loudly. "The money they lend is not as much as I am, Ana" replied Marius. "Hm ... Me and Mr. Doni have a cooperation agreement."

"Cooperation? What cooperation?," urged Ana.

Marius handed over a green map he had just received from one of his men to Ana. Ana realizes that what she holds is a letter of agreement from her first page. He is seen by "Doni Tanuwijaya", his own papa's name, and also "Marius Edmond Hadinata". Ana believes it's Marius' name.

"Mr Doni borrowed a very large sum of money .. with some requirements," explained Marius.

"FR. MGA?." Ana's eyes widened as she read the bail, one of which was her own papa company.

"Papa sold almost everything" Ana said slowly. He almost cried seeing all of that.

"But all of those terms cannot cover all of his debts" Marius continued.

"What do you mean?" asked Ana.

"The amount Mr. Doni has borrowed is too great, Ana," replied Marius. He played the whiskey glass in his hand and let a whiskey sink his throat.

"How much did papa borrow?" urged Ana.

"150 billion" answered Marius without looking at Ana. He still plays his whiskey glass. "All the assets that are collateralized including his company are not even worth half of it."

Ana's body instantly became limp and powerless. "150 billion?," Ana's voice rang out even though it sounded soft. His hands were trembling at the thought of the 150 billion dollars he had to pay.

"So ...how should I pay for it?," Ana said with her voice slightly trembling as it held back her anger.

"You will pay for it?" asked Marius.

"Yes. That's why give me a way to pay it off. But ... I hope it's not too hard. Unlike my papa, I'm just a regular employee."

Marius looked silently at Ana. I don't know what Marius was thinking.

"You can take it every month" said Marius.

"What?!," cried Ana almost in disbelief at what she heard.

"You don't want to?" asked Marius.

"No, no, I .. I didn't expect .. you let me .. post it."

"But .. by working for me."

"Working for you? Can't I just work as usual, and send the money to you on payday?"

Marius just shook his head.

"You're just afraid I'm running away, right?" Ana said.

"What am I gonna do? You're not gonna tell me to be .. escort lady, are you?"

Marius laughed loudly. "What do you think I am, Ana?"

Ana scowled to hear Marius laugh as if he was teasing her. "I'm just asking."

"You will only be a babysitter," Marius replied casually.

Ana fell silent. "Your son?"

"Yes"

Ana was silent again. "You're kidding me, right?"

Marius laughed again. "No."

"I don't have a certification for that."

"I know."

"Then, why did you tell me to be a nanny?"

"Because I want you to be his nanny."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing."

Ana begins to stress over hearing Marius's answer that none of them answered Ana's question correctly.

"I have no knowledge of parenting. I've never even been married, let alone had children."

"You can learn it from now on. Or do you want us to get married so you can learn it more easily?"

"No. Forget it," Ana said annoyedly.

"I'll pay you 20 times what you pay now."

"20 times? You mean ...,"

"100 million. Every month."

"Is he serious? For a nanny?," Inner Ana.

"I paid you very expensive, right. So I hope you can work really well." Marius showed off his smile on his handsome face. The entire time Ana spoke to him, only now clearly did Ana see that sweet smile of hers.

"Shut up, Ana! Focus!," Ana's mind snapped to herself.

"I think you agree to it" said Marius breaking Ana's daydream. "So, for now, go home" he continued. "2 more days there will be someone coming to pick you up," continued Marius without caring about Ana.

"What do you mean pick up?"

"You forgot, Ana? You'll be a nanny. That means you will stay in my house" replied Marius.

"Then, what about my job?" asked Ana.

"It's your business, Ana. Not mine."

Ana fell silent. "So, I'll stay at her house?!?!," Ana cried out.

Epilogue :

"Miss Ana, we've brought her back, sir," a man told Marius, who was sitting at his desk.

"Did he ask you something else?"

“No, Sir."

"Have they confirmed it?"

“Already, Sir. They say it's true, it's Miss Ana."

Marius looked smiling with satisfaction at his answer. It was as if that answer had been waiting for him.

"You may go," Marius said as he continued to sign the papers that were in front of him at this moment, and with his wide smile.
