Babysitter For Rain

Babysitter For Rain
CHAPTER 34

"... Adam ... Brother Adam ..."

Ana again replaced the warm towel on Marius' forehead with a new warm towel. Marius, who was lying down, kept calling Adam in his sleep.

"What he was dreaming about. Maybe she misses her brother so much, "inner Ana.

The doctor who examined him has been home since. He gave her an infusion, as well as some medicine and vitamins. The doctor only told Marius that he needed a lot of rest for a while.

According to doctors, the alcohol that Marius drank lately caused his body to continue to decline, and the lack of rest made his body start to give up.

"Could it be because of the problems that occurred at that time? It seemed like she was seen drinking more after that," Ana thought.

Ana looked at Marius' face, which was getting moist by the sweat that was constantly coming out because of the influence of the medicine given by the doctor.

Ana had no idea what caused her to continue worrying about this man who was lying before her. After he found Marius in such a state, he continued to feel uneasy.

Is he gonna be okay? How much does he hurt? What could he do? All of that kept spinning inside his head.

Long enough Ana kept replacing Marius' warm towel with a new one. Slowly, Marius seemed to have calmed down in his sleep. No more delusions from Marius. Looks like she'll be fine, Ana thought.

Looking at Marius who was getting calmer, Ana decided to rest for a while. He still had to force Marius to take his medicine when he woke up later, so he chose to lay his head beside Marius rather than having to go back to his room. Then slowly he closed both eyes.

......................

Ana suddenly gasped in shock in her sleep. He remembered that he still had to check on Marius' condition. The compress on his forehead should still be replaced if the fever has not gone down.

It was then that Ana realized, she was lying on top of Marius' bed. A thick blanket belonging to Marius enveloped him.

"Was she the one holding me? Shouldn't he have done that? He's sick again" Ana thought.

But Marius was not in his bed. He was not in his room either.

Then where is he? Is he back at work? Has he improved? But despite his improvement, it was not yet time for him to return to work.

Look at the table clock on Marius' nightstand. 8 O'clock! That session?

Soon Ana runs down to meet Marius. Ana believes Marius must be in his study. He just wanted to know how he was doing right now. Has he improved a bit, or is he forcing himself?

But, as Ana was about to descend the stairs leading downstairs, she heard the voice of a woman she did not know.

"Where's Marius? I want to meet her," said the woman who looked not too old. She looks so beautiful and elegant. But it seems like Ana has seen that woman.

"Sorry, Miss. Marius is in need of rest. I'll call Mr. Lucas, Mr. Marius' personal secretary to help Miss," Tian said in the way.

The woman fell silent. He looked at Tian who was in front of him.

"You who? I've never seen you. Where's Eli? He's usually here."

"I am Tian, the new butler, Miss. I'm afraid Miss doesn't know it yet, but Miss Eli has stopped working."

The woman smiled cynically. "just fine. You definitely don't know who I am. I am Valerie Geraldine. Just tell Marius to see me."

"Geraldine Valerie? Of course I'm like I've seen it. He is a national artist who is often a brand ambassador of famous products," Ana said in her heart. Ana has seen him several times in the events of her client company.

"Sorry, Miss Valerie. As I said, Mr. Marius is in need of rest at the moment. If, Miss needs anything, I'm sure Mr. Lucas is on his way here to see you."

Ana remembered that when she came down earlier, she saw a servant walking towards Marius' office. Tian must have told him to call Lucas.

"Unfortunately, only I can help you right now, Val."

Lucas suddenly appears with a waiter behind him. The waiter called Lucas.

"Tian's right, Marius is sick. He needs a lot of rest at the moment. Tell me what you want. I'm going to tell Marius" Lucas said calmly.

Hearing Lucas call Valerie by her short name, it seemed like they had known each other for a long time.

But Valerie doesn't look happy to see Lucas. "Is Marius avoiding me? Look, I just want to talk about that contract, that's all."

"Then, just tell me. You know for yourself, I'm the one who used to handle that."

"But Marius decided it. I want to talk to him directly so I can hear his decision."

"You've heard Marius' decision yourself, Val."

Valerie looks already upset. Step by step, Valerie moved towards Lucas.

"Listen, Lucas. He still remembers Rain ..."

"Vallery!"

Ana is surprised to hear Lucas call Valerie's name in a snapping tone. Never before had Ana heard of Lucas that angry.

But, what surprised Ana even more was when Valerie mentioned Rain's name. Who her?

"I hope you know what you're doing right now" Lucas said. Clearly, Lucas was angry at the moment.

"Don't piss me off, Lucas. I just need to see Marius to ask for the contract. He can't do this to me. He knows very well who I am. So, don't block me, Lucas."

Lucas can no longer stand in Valerie's way. Because now, Valerie keeps walking through Lucas to Marius's study.

Ana who was standing in the distance felt she had to do something. Without much consideration, Ana immediately ran over to Valerie.

"Wait!" cried Ana.

Ana stood in the way of Valerie to advance even further. He spread out his hands in front of Valerie. At the same time, Ana could hear Lucas and Tian calling her name.

"Who are you?" asked Valerie.

For the umpteenth time, Ana only realized that she was again acting without thinking first. But regret is too late. It was obviously impossible for her to back off as she was standing in Valerie's way.

"I'm sorry, what Tian and Lucas said is true. Marius was sick from last night, and he really needed a break. Please, come back another time" Ana said.

"You haven't told me who you are? What right do you forbid me?," asked Valerie again with a cynical look.

"I ... I ...," Ana lost her words. There's obviously no way she said she was just Rain's nanny. Valerie's gonna ignore it.

"You can't answer me? Then, step aside!," snapped Valerie.

But, Ana was more stubborn than him. Ana further stretched out her hands, leaving Valerie restrained in front of her.

Valerie's getting angry. He did not know who the girl before him was. All he knew was that this girl's guts were so big that her anger kept rising.

"I said step aside!," cried Valerie with a raised hand that was about to slap Ana.
