CHAPTER 23

When Ana meets Rain in her room, Rain's face still looks lethargic. Ana tried to hold back her tears at that time, even though she actually did not have the heart to see Rain's condition like that.

But, when Rain raised both hands as if asking for a hug from Ana, Ana's tears could not be contained anymore. Ana immediately ran to hug Rain and cried in Rain's arms.

Thankfully, Rain's condition has improved. Noel who checked it also made sure that Rain would be fine.

"The situation is getting better. We just need to wait for the test results to come out" Noel said after he finished examining Rain.

"If the test is good, Rain can go home" Noel said, teasing Rain by touching his nose. Rain giggled because of that.

After Marius and Lucas thanked him, Noel left the room. But then, Ana remembered something. He paid a brief farewell to Rain as well as Marius before he left them, and chased after Noel.

"Doctor Noel," call Ana. Noel immediately turned around as Ana called out to him.

"I haven't thanked the doctor for helping Rain at the time" Ana said.

"Thank you very much, doctor," he said, bowing his head.

"Aah .. doesn't need to be like that. I just happened to be there" Noel said.

"But, still, I feel I have to say thank you. The doctor helped me stay strong at the time. I'll repay the doctor."

"Hmm ... What if I charge it now?"

Ana looks confused by Noel's question.

"First, can you call me Noel. Do not use a doctor. Noels. Just Noel."

"But ..."

"Secondly, I hope you don't refuse when I get a cup of coffee. You like coffee, right? Or tea?"

This time, Noel did not wait for an answer from Ana.

Nervously, Ana once again thanked Noel, then ran away from Noel.

Noel still watched Ana leave until the girl completely disappeared from the hallway. But Marius, he was still standing there. Calmly, Noel simply smiled and nodded his head before finally turning away.

They are currently investigating the cause of Rain whose allergy suddenly reacts due to the food supply he eats. Marius calls Ana to come to his study when Rain is asleep, and replaces her with a bodyguard to stand guard in front of Rain's room, so that Ana can feel calm leaving Rain alone in her room.

While everyone was focusing on Rain at the hospital, David told one of his men to pick up a school bag and Rain's stock town that was still left behind at school. From that, David immediately checked the lunch box, and finally found there is a strawberry extract dripped in some foods in it.

David has also checked CCTV footage showing Ana's activities in the kitchen while preparing Rain's provisions. Ana did come out of the kitchen at that time to go back upstairs when she was done preparing Rain's provisions. Supposedly, the chance of the offender to include strawberry extract was at that time. But CCTV footage doesn't show that.

"And now, again a dead end?" asked Lucas who was already on the border between continuing to fight or surrender.

Naomi was reading some report sheets on her desk when her phone rang because of an incoming call. Naomi noticed the name on her phone screen with a strange look.

However, Naomi still raised the call.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Marius ..," he said.

"What do you know about Doctor Noel? He's the parent of one of your son's classmates too" Marius said, heard by Naomi.

"What's? Wait ..."

Naomi confirmed the name listed on her phone screen. "Yes, what?" thought Naomi.

Naomi restrains all her emotions by squeezing the paper in front of her. Even the pen he was holding was squeezed.

"Listen, dear Lord Marius ... Just because you and I have a cooperative relationship, doesn't mean you can just as easily ..."

"He took Ana out for coffee."

Naomi was silent for a moment. The emotions that had been heating up, now began to boil. "Brave ...," thought Naomi.
