12.5. Antology Story: Lucia II Holiday
Ellian and Katarina were relaxing in front of an artificial pond under a waterfall from the cliff of the reservoir. They put a chair on the edge of the water line. With a tent that covers their bodies from direct sunlight exposure. Their feet were submerged in water to the limit of their eyes.
"It's really fresh. It was hot like this" Katarina said as she moved her feet in the water.
"really. It is not wrong to put the plantation area in this place" Eliian said, closing his eyes.
But shortly afterwards it was heard from far away the sound of a steam train coming.
"Who the hell, this scorching heat is coming to visit?" Ask Katarina who looks disturbed.
"See, maybe Lucia's daughter. He has a plan to visit here" said Ellian, squinting her eyes and raising her hand to the front of the temple as if she was covering her eyes and nose from the sun.
And after the steam train stopped, it appeared Lucia's figure descended from inside the carriage.
"Well, indeed the princess did not know common things like: 'don't travel on a hot day', like that" said Katarina who looked a little upset.
"It looks like it is" said Ellian, folding her tent and putting her next to the chair with a slightly disappointed face.
After greeting the princess, they immediately drove her around the plantation area.
"Have you come alone, princess?" Eliian said the first time he found Lucia alone.
"Yes, Jean is on assignment with Miss Helen" Lucia replied quickly.
"Is it okay to travel alone like now?" Ellian.
"Well, this scene is really pretty" Lucia's face seemed to be amazed by what was in front of her, until the girl ignored Ellian's question.
Between the tents of the botanists, and the building of the greenhouse that is now so large and sturdy, looks a stretch of land lined with small streets of different colors.
In addition, there are several buildings with windmills installed on top, and several small water ponds with complicated waterways around them.
Not to mention some iron chariots appear to be on the sidelines of the land map.
Obviously for Lucia who is a noble, the scenery is no less interesting with the view of the waterfall cliff reservoir on the other side.
"How is the workmanship of the land Miss Ellian?" Lucia asked as they began walking down the road leading to one of the lands.
"Good princess. The work is now three-quarters. At most it will take us two or three more days before we can start planting" Ellian replied as she walked next to Lucia with Katarina following behind them.
"And what is the usefulness of the iron chariot in this place?" Lucia can't seem to hold back her curiosity.
"Oh, Nata gave the iron chariot to help us plow hard soil, so that it softens quickly. Then as you can see that the color of the soil is different, it's because we sow it with processed water, volcanic soil from eastern coastal mining, then animal waste" explained Eliian at length.
"Ease the smell is very stinging to get here" said Lucia while scrunching her forehead.
"We'll do it for about two or three days until the ground is really soft. Before we start sowing seeds" Ellian further explained. Lucia doesn't really understand either.
"We put a water pipe underground from the pond of the water that is the most massive" replied Ellian, pointing to a pool that is 2 times larger than other ponds. "The pool is equipped with a sluice gate to prevent flooding of the region. And then from the pool, the water is then flowed into other smaller pools and land" Ellian added with a long explanation.
"Oh, so it seems. And what would you like to plant in those lands later, Miss Ellian?" Lucia changed the subject because she started not understanding Ellian's explanation.
"Many princesses. There is wheat, corn, and potatoes" Eliian replied "Oh, also yesterday Miss Luna just brought in a seed of cane grass. We will also name it later" he added later.
"Well, really? Then we'll have our own sugar?" Lucia sounded very happy to hear that. That was because when he was in the south, sugar was the thing he encountered most often. It made her feel nostalgic.
"True princess" Ellian replied quickly.
"And by the way where are the workers now, Miss Ellian?" Ask Lucia who didn't see a single person under the hot sun today.
"They are having lunch break, princess" Ellian replied in an impatient tone.
"Oh, right. It's midday" said Lucia who seemed to have just noticed.
Lucia's expression made Katarina and Ellian feel, that their irritation increased by one more level.
"Daughter has eaten? We can eat together in the tent if you want?" Ellian tried to offer Lucia to enter the tent.
"Thank you, Miss Ellian. I am not hungry yet" replied Lucia who irritated Ellian and Katarina to increase another level.
Then Lucia continued walking this time near the flower pots under the sun barrier cloth not far from their previous position.
"What are these flowers for, Miss Ellian?" Lucia asked who did not make Ellian surprised. Because it seems Lucia asked everything that concerns her. No matter the details of the explanation.
"It's a medicinal plant. Nata asked me to breed it first before it would be used as a healing herb" Ellian explained but not too detailed.
"Oh, these flowers can be used to cure diseases. I just saw it" Lucia seemed to be observing a row of pots containing bright orange flowers.
"Not all princesses. This one according to Nata, to clean the body when we bathe" said Ellian while pointing to the flowers that had been noticed by Lucia.
"Oh, what is it for a fragrance smeared like a fragrant minya?" Lucia asked who did not understand Ellian's intention.
"No. He said it would be mixed with animal fat or alkali, as I recall. Aksa once called it soap, or whatever it was" Ellian replied later.
"Animal fat to clean the body?" Lucia could not imagine how that could happen.

"Oh, that? Uh, by the way are you guys also taking lunch breaks? Aren't you guys having lunch yet?" Lucia suddenly remembered something important.
"Right, we're on lunch break. We haven't had lunch. If the princess is pleased, let's have lunch with us" Ellian said, offering Lucia. Which was then answered with Lucia a big smile.
