The Thousand Year Dynasty

The Thousand Year Dynasty
24.5 Anthology Story: Steam Truck

That afternoon, everyone gathered in the camp. Surrounding an iron kerta that is said to be able to move without a towing horse.

Haldin seemed satisfied to see the results of his work and members of his East Star group. A smug smile appeared on his face.

"Is the furnace already on?" The middle-aged man asked Matyas.

"It is ready for the leader" Matyas replied.

"Then turn it on" Haldin ordered later. Matyas immediately ran to the iron chariot.

The train is shaped like a train in general. It's just made of iron. In front of the car, which usually has a towing pole, now replaced with a large iron tube and the same length as the car body. Like an asab chimney mounted two pieces on the side facing up.

Once Aksa told the name of the iron tube as a Locomotive, but the craftsmen who are difficult to remember the words then call it Loko or burning furnace.

Then on the left and right side of the combustion furnace there is an iron wheel. It is not as big as the train wheel, but because it is located right in the body of the iron furnace, causing the wheel to look very attractive.

There was a small serrated wheel and an iron pole attached to the wheel. The end is attached to the wheels of the train below.

And because of the large and heavy weight of the chariot and the iron furnace, the four wheels supporting it were made bigger and look sturdy.

The wheels of the chariot were not flat or thin as those attached to the wheels of most chariots. The iron chariot wheel looked like a bloated metal.

But if considered seriously the wheel is made of thin slabs of iron that are woven into each other and then curved following the shape of the wheel. Until the wheel looks thick and sturdy but empty in the middle.

Everyone was amazed to see the train that looked handsome and haunted. And then it grew in awe as slowly the iron chariot began to tremble.

"Ready!" Shouted Matyas from the steering wheel of the train while watching an iron handle in front of him that began to rise when the heat of the fire had begun to boil the water.

It was a tool to assess the pressure in the furnace before being channeled to move the iron pole on the wheel beside it earlier.

All the members of the Eastern Star seemed to hold their breath and pray to their respective gods, when they saw Matyas' hand gripping the lever before him. Who stood straight as high as his chest.

And as soon as the lever was moved forward, it suddenly sounded like the whistle of a very loud water kettle from one of the furnace chimneys, which surprised everyone in the place.

Simultaneously, the iron pole beside the furnace began to move and the iron chariot wheels began to spin.

Seeing this made everyone go silent for a moment, and then began to shout in joyous cheers.

Not only the craftsmen of the Eastern Star, but everyone in that place was also excited to have succeeded in making a tool that they previously thought was impossible.

Looks even Val also seemed to not believe a tool as heavy as it could walk. Even before it took ten people to push the carriage to this place.

"The two people are really scary" said Couran disperse the daydreams of Val.

"really. They will soon bring about changes in this land. No, in this world" Val later said.

Marco, who was standing next to Val, did not blink at all, seeing that the train could walk. He knew how the train worked, because he and Val worked on almost the entire mechanical part of the train. But he did not think that the plan really worked.

While it looks like Haldin is dancing like a madman with his members while walking to follow beside the iron train. While shouting 'Stimtrak' repeatedly, which is the name Aksa gave to call the iron chariot.

"Look at the old man it was like people were not sane" said Katarina who sat in front of the Ellian tent had observed it from a distance.

"If I were him maybe I would do the same, brother. Just think, the iron chariot can move without horses" said Ellian from beside Katarina. He accompanied his brother to see it from a distance because the brother insisted on not being close to Haldin.

"True, I became curious about the two young men" Katarina said as she stood up and went back inside the tent.

"You will meet them soon" replied Ellian, following her brother into the tent.

"What do you think bi?" It was heard that Deuxter asked Go, after the four of them saw how the iron chariot could walk not far from the Ellian tent.

"Is the iron chariot the design of two men who also made the crossbow?"

"True" this time Loujze answered.

"What kind of two people could create such a monster?"

"Auntie won't believe it when you see them in person" said Huebert, who was yelled at by two friends with laughter.
