15. Counterattack

While Joan, who was following Bedivere's army, returned to the camp.

The fire that burned down the camp had already begun to go out. But it looks like most of the camp is charred, which only leaves the debris alone.

Three knights came to Bedivere and Joan, when they saw the two men coming.

"What's going on, Mr Bedivere?" Asked a Narva man dressed as a noble knight to ask because he saw Bedivere's troops returning to the camp.

"We went back to ascertain the condition of the camp, as soon as the sound of an explosion was heard and saw a fire rising from the direction of this place. How's he doing now, Mr Urgu?" Answer Bedivere who is connected with the question because he is worried.

"Nearly three quarters of the camp was burned. Our food supplies, as well as some war equipment and weapons were also burned" the man named Urgu replied. "It was fortunate that Zygos immediately cast his protective magic. So that some of our soldiers can still survive. Maybe about two to thirty soldiers were victims" the man added.

"Truly a terrible magic" Bedivere said again as he looked around the camp.

"Obviously it's not magic. My mystic weapon can sense the movement of the Soul stream. And as this fire approached, my mystic weapon felt nothing" said a woman with a wooden wand that had a crescent-like shape at its top.

"Is it possible that it is a higher-level magic? Until your weapon can't feel it?" Asked a slightly younger Narva man, who was standing next to the female with the magic wand earlier.

"Is there really a magic higher than mystic weapons?" The woman sailed with an incredulous face.

"If they have such magic, then we must not waste time and underestimate them" Narva said.

"really. Then we have to move immediately" Urgu said. "Pollux, gather the others" he added by commanding the younger Narva man earlier.

"Well" Pollux replied as he left the place.

Bedivere, Joan, and three other knights were meeting in a makeshift tent not far from the rest of their burned camp.

The six knights were the six Champions of the twelve Urbar Kingdom Champions who were given the burden to carry twelve mystical weapons.

They were talking about how to deal with the magic attack from the other side, when then it appeared that dozens of soldiers and knights arrived at the camp in unfavorable conditions. It also appears that Tristan was seriously injured with Gawain.

"What happened, Mr Gawain?" Urgu asked then when Gawain was already inside the meeting tent and Tristan had already received treatment.

"Our forces are being destroyed" replied Gawain with his face bent down. Looks pretty devastated. "Five hundred more soldiers are only a few tens" he said later.

"How can you, Mr Gawain?" Urgu asked representing the others.

"They use explosion magic continuously until our witches are defeated" Gawain replied. "And after the explosion stopped, dozens of iron milestones came pouring down. Destroying all of our stone throwers" he continued.

"Did they use mystical weapons? Or do they have high-class witches?" Asked a tall, athletic Narva man who looked curious.

"Eitherway? I don't know" Gawain replied shaking his head as he closed his eyes. It was as if he had given up on remembering.

"You didn't see them? Did they use it behind the gate wall?" This time a Narva knight with a stern face asked.

"No, I don't see it because we still haven't managed to get close to the gate. Even we have not reached the reach distance of the stone thrower" replied Gawain who surprised the six Champions.

"What's? That far?" There was a girl in the clothes of a noble who could not believe Gawain's words.

"But they do have strange and absurd tools" said Joan in support of Gawain's remarks.

"First I thought it was a joke that Mr. Tyrion had us all attack a small territory that wasn't even a kingdom" Urgu said.

"really. It's dead too" added Pollux.

"But after hearing the story from miss Joan, and seeing the events that had happened, it seemed that what Lord Tyrion was worried about reasoned. The city has a great power that will someday be dangerous for our kingdom" Urgu added.

"What will you do after this?" Gawain asked Urgu and the other Champions.

"It's definitely not. The six of us will attack the gate" Urgu replied as he stood up from his seat. "Come, all get ready" he added commanding the others.

"You're leaving now? The soldiers we still can not prepare for the next two or three days" Bedivere said later.

"No need, Mr. Bedivere. We will attack the gate ourselves" Urgu replied as the other Champions stood up from their seats. "We will show the strength of the real Urbar kingdom" he added later as he walked away from the tent followed by others.

"really. For sure after this the Champions of mystical weapons will come to attack" Jean said.

"Then what are your plans after this, Mr Nata?" Caspian asked when he found Nata's face looked more serious now.

"You don't want you to have to face them" replied Nata who made the leaders in that place feel tense. "If possible we will take them to a place that is profitable for us" he added later.

"Master! There were six people riding three horses out of the camp towards this place" a soldier came to report.

"Wow, that's fast. Didn't they think of a plan first to fight us?" Said Nata who also looked as surprised as the others after hearing the report. "Or are they very confident that their power is capable of defeating us?"

"I will immediately prepare people to start attacking them" said Vossler who immediately stood up from his seat.

"The weapon we are wearing is not suitable to fight enemies in small numbers from a distance. What's more agile" said Nata preventing Vossler.

"Then what are we going to do?" Ask Vossler then.

"We'll wait for them to get close enough" Nata replied.

Three horses with six riders seemed to rush towards the Pharos gate.

Lucia observed them from behind her binoculars. "It looks like they're about to do something" he said later.

"Yes, I feel the flow of Soul moving quickly" said Parpera, who was supported by a nod by Lily.

One of the men sitting behind one of the horses raised his staff up. And suddenly part of the road surface in front of the gate went up to the height of the cliff wall of the south gate. Making a ramp uphill.

"This is just cheating" said Nata who stared at the front of the south gate which now appears to be a road uphill directly towards the cliff wall. "They should have done this since then" said Nata again as he shook his head while taking something from another wooden town.

While the soldiers of Pharos immediately launched iron milestone shots towards the horsemen who had been seen starting to climb uphill.

Yet a bright yellow magic protector covered them like a bowl. And dozens of iron milestones that hit the shield bounced or even broke and shattered.

At the same time, several large, pointed ice pillars formed outside the magic protector. And once the shape looks perfect, the ice pillars slide towards the cliff wall quickly and repeatedly.

"Shielded!" Caspian exclaimed as he watched dozens of ice pillars slide towards the cliff wall where the iron pillar throwing weapon was located.

And dozens of ice pillars hit the cliff walls randomly and continuously. The soldiers and witches in the place hid like they were sheltering from the raging ice storm.

While Parpera looks to have created a protective magic to cover himself, Lucia, and Nata. Lily was also inside the magic protector. Lily was being vigilant. But he will not do anything if there is nothing that threatens Nata's life or himself.

"Kan, this is the new name of the battle" said Nata who this time seemed to have been carrying a long iron tube at the end of which looked like a tapered oval tube. It looks like a spear, but it is thick.

Then Nata knelt on one leg, then lifted the iron tube up on his right shoulder. With the pointed end facing forward.

"Don't be behind me" Nata said, aiming not at the horsemen, but at the ground that was sticking up as high as the cliff wall in front of the gate.

And after it was felt that the horsemen were about to jump up the cliff wall, Nata immediately pulled the trigger on his shoulders.

And after an explosion was heard, the tip of the weapon shaped like a tapered oval tube slid towards the ground that Nata was aiming at earlier.

The explosion occurred right in front of the horsemen. Which caused the ground they were treading to fall down rapidly. Their horses were plunging from a height. Not with the six riders.

They managed to jump from their horses towards the top of the cliff wall of the gate.

"Foot!" Shouted Nata giving a cue to some soldiers who had been waiting behind the wall, preparing with weapons similar to his.

And once it was seen that some people were in the air above the cliff wall, immediately the soldiers shot a bullet which then expanded into a net towards the people.

Two of them got entangled and then fell down. Because the net is electrified.

But four people managed to escape and landed behind the gate.
