The Thousand Year Dynasty
24.5 Antology Story: Come Help

A Morra man with a leather bag that appeared to bulge behind his back, was seen panting as he reached a sloping area on the Pharos land border.

In that area there are already many tents. Many people pass by. And there are also some horse carriages lined with patterns surrounding it.

The man took a week to travel to finally get to this place. He was sure that the person he was looking for must be in this place.

The man approached the man who was walking in front of him.

"Sorry sir, I would like to ask. Where can I find Mr Val?" Ask the Morra guy.

"Oh, he was in the biggest white tent at the end of there" replied a craftsman who looked to be carrying several wooden blocks while pointing to a tent.

"Thank you very much" replied the Morra man immediately heading to the tent in question.

The more into the area looks more crowded. Not only craftsmen, but also farmers, and some traders.

There were eight tents as large as those of the nobles, and twenty small tents. Also seen are carts containing piles of metal and wood in some places between the tents.

Before long the man reached the tent in question.

"Excuse me is this really Mr Val's tent?" Said the man as he opened the mosquito net and entered the tent.

It seemed that inside the tent was filled with metal objects with strange shapes. Make a tent that looks big from the outside so it feels small when inside.

It was seen that a pale-skinned black-haired elf figure was doing something on the table located in the middle of the tent. That was Val. Who then stopped his work because he heard someone calling.

"Well, can I help you?" Val said as he looked at who was at the entrance, "weren't you the blacksmith from the city of Albas?" Val ensure.

"True Mr. Val, I'm Marco. I heard a rumor in the city of Albas that there were dozens of craftsmen and botanical unions making camp on the border of the land dead" Marco said later, "and therefore, there was no need to do so, I suspect there must be you in that place. So I made up my mind to come here" he added.

"Indeed why did Mr Marco bother to come see me? Can I help you?" Ask Val then.

Suddenly Marco dropped the bag on his back. Then bow before Val.

"Make me your student Mr. Val" Marco said later.

"I didn't raise a disciple" Val replied quickly and briefly.

Val seemed to think for a moment, "if for that you have to meet Mr. Couran, he is in charge of this place" Val said later.

"Thank you, Mr. Val. Well I will immediately look for Mr. Couran to ask his permission" Marco said in a happy tone.

"Before that, can I ask you to help us get that thing up here" val said while showing a box made of iron as wide as one arm of an adult man who on the inside looks a patterned overdraft, which is at the end of the tent.

"Ready, Mr. Val" said Marco who immediately rose up and lifted the object that was meant by Val earlier.

"Yes, thank you. Up here"

Marco put the thing on top of what Val was working on on the table. The shape is like an iron box almost as big as the workbench.

"And what is it, Mr Val?" Marco asked, who saw that Val was placing several metal bars the size of an index finger on the side of the object on the table.

"This is one part of a tool called Piston" Val replied without stopping her work.

"No, I mean the one you're putting up right now" Marco made clear his question.

"Oh, this? If it's not wrong Nata called it Skrup" Val replied as he handed one to Marco.

"She-what? What's the use, Mr Val? Is this some kind of lock two irons?" Marco figured out the usefulness of the thing in his hand.

In detail it was no longer than a tablespoon. It is a cylindrical tube about the size of an index finger. The top is a hexagon-shaped pile of iron that looks like the head of a mushroom. And on the part of his body was filled with etching reliefs with a pattern of rolling from top to bottom.

"Absolutely. Its use is indeed similar to pegs in wooden buildings. It's just that it's made to have an uneven shape threading all over its body, making it strong to grip when it's plugged in" Val replied later. "And there's no need for a hammer to put it up. Because we just need to rotate it like this" Val added while demonstrating how to install the object called the Screw on Marco.

"Well, practically" Marco looked amazed to see it.

"All right, let me take each of you to find Mr. Couran" Val said then after finishing his job. Then remove the skin apron.

"Thank you, Mr. Val. But by the way, what exactly is that Piston thing?" Marco asked then after staring at the object on the table which, after being installed by Val, looked increasingly foreign to him.

"After this" Val answered lightly, opening the door of his tent and exiting, followed by Marco behind him.
