29.5. The Fla Side Story Part 7
"Is everything going according to plan?" Fla asked James, who was in a dark alley behind a house in the southern sluice area, two weeks later.
It appears that the two of them were with him three Tyrgian hunters and some slave men who still had strong physical stamia. They planned to attack the sluice guards so that the soldiers outside the walls could enter safely.
"The others are already in hiding places waiting to make a move" James replied later.
The other thing James meant was the slaves who were about to flee the city. Consists of women, children, and old men.
"Is the wet cloth prepared?"
"Calm down, that's too" James replied, "what else is it true that smoke can come down? To my knowledge when I burn something the smoke will always go up" he added later.
"We'll see later, the important thing is that we have prepared it. Well, now we just wait for the sign" said Fla later.
And after waiting long enough finally seen a bright red light in the forest on the hill to the west, which is getting wider.
The slaves who were in the hiding place just silently watched the forest on the mountain slope burn quickly from the sidelines of the window. They're more convinced by what Fla says.
It sounded outside the guards and mercenaries noisily and in panic. Soon, danger bells were heard. At that moment the atmosphere in the city turned gripping.
A few moments later the air around started to fog. Who did not wait for long the fog was getting thickened. It makes the air harder to breathe.
It was smoke from the forest on the western slope that was burning. The wind carried him towards the valley, towards the city of Halmd.
"His smoke really went down to town?" It was heard that even Fla himself could not believe it, even though he himself heard this plan from Nata directly and then explained it to the others.
"Hold on you, we wait for the second sign" Fla said, pointing at the other to use his wet cloth to cover his mouth and nose.
Then Fla signaled to the others to prepare to attack the floodgates who were now only eight people as others rushed towards the east gate.
It appears Deuxter prepared his arrow and began to aim even though it was still from within the dark alley. Then Loujze began to sneak out towards the water gate guards. While Fla, Huebert, and the others were preparing to attack.
And once Loujze managed to knock out one guard who was unaware of his whereabouts, Huebert immediately shouted "Strike!"
The guards were surprised to receive a surprise attack from behind. This damaged their formation, and although the guards were trained mercenaries, they were no match for the trio of hunters and slaves who were only barefoot with shovels, straw rake, and so on, and that slaughter knife.
Soon after, Fla ordered the others to strip the guards of their uniforms and wear them according to the instructions Nata had given her.
And to distinguish from the original guards, Fla's entourage was asked to wear a red bandana on the head. That way when the soldiers from outside the wall managed to enter, they would recognize Fla's entourage as friends and would not attack.
But not long after that the enemy reinforcements came. This time more. Approximately twenty-five mercenaries with weapons and full combat clothing seemed to approach Fla's robes quickly.
Everyone immediately put up the horses to accept the attack. It appears Deuxter has started launching his arrows, which managed to subvert two people before they approached.
The slaves were already frightened and ready to accept their death, when then from behind the floodgates appeared to appear the soldiers, and, who after seeing the situation that was happening immediately helped to block the mercenaries.
The battle was quite fierce, although in the end they were able to defeat the mercenaries, before then all the soldiers managed to enter the city through the floodgates.
While the trio of hunters were talking and giving information to the leader of the force known as the Arcdux troops, Fla and the others immediately headed to another hiding place.
His task this time was to bring the slaves out of the city of Halmd through the west side floodgates. Then meet Lily and Val to then continue their plan to escape from the Estrinx region.
