31.5. - Kingdom of Urbar
"What have you done?!" Chris was seen shouting angrily as he was already in the Urbar royal throne room with several rulers waiting for the king's presence.
Two days passed after Chris managed to miraculously escape the devastating explosion that had been prepared as a trap for Pharos' army in Meso city.
He survived the blast because of Narshe's help. The Knight is separated from the group of Eight Guards whom he hired to keep him during the negotiations.
They both managed to escape in the last seconds, because Narshe had used the stone Arcane Space and Time while they were on the roof of the meeting building. Which then moved them somewhere not far outside Meso.
"Prophey, counsellor. We know you're angry, for putting you in danger. And also do not talk about this plan first to you" said Arias with a smile that looks skinnier.
There was only Chris in the room, and four real rulers. Namely: Arias of the Cleyra Estate, Ronaldo of the Margrace Estate, Regis of the Saronia Estate, and Austin of the Ravus Estate.
"But in order not to arouse suspicion, then we deliberately did not tell you about this plan" added Arias again.
"This is not about me, but you will bring destruction to this kingdom. Didn't we agree we would wait before we started an attack on the region? Why are you so impatient and reckless?" Chris is seen still not accept with a rash plan made without his knowledge. "Did your majesty know about this?" Added later.
"Just calm down, Counselor. We have the approval of the king. You can ask directly as soon as your majesty arrives" this time a firm-faced figure who spoke. He is Regis.
"So you met your majesty behind my back?" Chris looks scornful. "What do you think until you allow such a rash plan" he added with a face that looked disappointed.
"Please talk to you, Mr. Counselor. Although the lord reappointed you as an advisor, it does not mean that all your mushy plans were approved by him" Arias quickly attacked Chris's remarks. "And again how could that plan be called rash? The proof is they were not aware of the attack" he added for not accepting it.
"You think they've been serious about confronting us? They don't realize it because they think we wouldn't dare to do something like that. It's not that they can't resist or suspect our attacks" Chris explains by trying to contain emotions.
"You overestimate the ability they have, Mr. Counselor" this time Ronaldo from the Margrace Estate said.
"Is your surprise attack that failed to take over the city of Meso not proof?" Reply Chris who was seen starting to not be able to withstand his irritation.
"Her Majesty the king has arrived!" Shouted the guard soldiers by suddenly cutting off their debate.
And the tired-faced man in the crown, walked into the room. His white robe was dragged on the floor as he walked towards the throne at the end of the room.
Everyone knelt down as the king entered the room, until he finally sat down on the throne.
"Sir, forgive me for failing to perform the task. Allow me to resign as your advisor" Chris said later as he and the other rulers had begun to rise to their feet.
"I know you're angry and don't accept it, but a plan like this, right, you mean by giving up first? Letting them off guard and giving us a chance to attack them" the king replied confidently.
"So that's what they told you. I'm sorry, but I'm not angry or unaccepting. But I did feel unable to fix the problems that occurred after this incident" Chris replied politely as he bent his body.
"Is it not for you that defeat after defeat that we have received is not a clear proof of the strength of our opponent?" Chris tried to be calm and not provoked emotions.
"That's because Tyrion's too stupid. The proof is that we can hurt them. They are not as strong as you mentioned, Mr. Counselor" Arias again said. "We have also conducted an investigation into the area of the dead land. They do not have a strong military. Not having a strong leader. They did not even have the help of the nobles. Their people and workers are mostly ordinary people and the slaves they freed" he added.
"Right is what Mr. Arias said. If we manage to unite other kingdoms in this central region, it must not be difficult to drop the dead land" this time Regis added Arias' speech.
"Previously let me tell you, your majesty. After speaking directly to the envoy from the territory of the dead land, a young man named Nata, I only realized that basically the power of the region was not just based on their weapons. But from the plans and strategies they use to survive our attacks" Chris begins to tell a story. "And that's the main problem that should be paying attention to us now. Because no matter how strong the weapons and defenses we have, if they can find the right way, still this kingdom will be destroyed" he looks to dissect his explanation.
"Truely they have an unequivocal leader, which is why until now they had no intention of invading and conquering our territory. That's what we should use. To look for weaknesses and attack them from a place they really can't stand" Chris continued. "But now you have eliminated that opportunity, and given them a compelling reason to conquer our kingdom" he added.
"Are your fears not excessive, Counselor?" Regis interrupted with a question.
"You should also be as frightened as I am, Mr. Regis. Since I am sure, they will definitely conquer the entire Estate territory first, then they will make an attack on this central region. Including the eastern side. So you-you all have to prepare for the worst that might happen" said Chris again who made the other rulers look gulped with a face a little panic.
"If you are afraid, don't try to scare the others too, Mr. Counselor" Arias seemed to not accept Chris trying to influence the other rulers.
"If we don't have fear, then we won't be able to survive, Mr. Arias" Chris denied Arias' remarks.
"But your fear is excessive. Even responding to the plan that has been successfully executed" Arias still has not relented.
"Do you think the plan worked? At least if you plan to eliminate everyone in the meeting, do not do it half-way. Let alone the people of the land die, I am still alive and standing here now" replied Chris then who silenced Arias instantly. "The victims are only our own soldiers. And you said the plan worked?" The addition again causes Arias' face to become increasingly red.
"Then, now what do you think we should do?" This time the king asked to stop the warming atmosphere between Chris and Arias.
"For the last advice I can give is, as Mr. Regis has said before. This kingdom should immediately make an alliance with another kingdom using the name of the Holy Land. And immediately launch an attack before they attack first. As much as we can fight them alone now, we will not win" Chris replied calmly and politely to the king.
"Do you really intend to resign, Chris? I won't let you" the king said in response to Chris' earlier words.
"I'm sorry for my stupidity, your majesty. I am willing to accept the death penalty because I will not be able to obey the order" said Chris firmly, who was not answered by the king.
