Not waiting any longer, two days later the Lugwin troops began to head to Kotaraja after the three throwing cars they had assembled were completed. It took three days to arrive at the fortress wall. It was because they had to herd three wooden carriages shaped like watchtowers as high as the castle gates in a row in one lane with great care.
Two of them appear to be six iron milestones about the size of an average house height, mounted horizontally facing forward, between the tower bodies, lined up in pairs down.
Also seen in each of the trains are two large stones hanging on the left and right side of the tower. Then serrated wheels and large woven ropes commonly used to anchor ships, are seen between the cavities of the towers.
Two of the trains moved close to each other while the one that seemed to have no iron milestones was far behind.
-
Seeing the three wooden towers approaching the fortress of Kotaraja, made the soldiers who were guarding on it wary.
"What's a stone thrower, sir?" Ask a soldier to his leader who is standing guard at the fortress on the left side of the gate.
"Did they not learn? This fortress wall is very sturdy and cannot be destroyed if it is only thrown with such rocks" replied the warrior leader while stroking his bushy mustache.
"But what is iron for?"
"Either. But even if they threw it, the iron won't penetrate this fortress either"
"But now why don't they stop? Wouldn't throwing stones at close range be ineffective? Are they going to destroy the city? Granted, we don't have enough witches to make magic protectors from air strikes, but still" Said the soldier curious to see the three wooden tower accompaniment was still advancing and began to enter the attack range of the soldiers guarding the fortress.
"Even so they will get nothing by throwing the rocks into the city. They'll lose a lot of soldiers and tools before the fourth throw starts" said the leader again rubbed his mustache with a disrespectful look at the soldiers who tried desperately to protect the tower from the throwing of spears, arrows, and fire magic. "And three stone throws into the city will have no impact on us" he added.
"really. It doesn't make sense that they did something stupid like this" said the soldier, feeling something was wrong.
"Maybe they've lost their minds and wish there was a miracle from the Istar gods?" the leader replied with a disrespectful laugh.
"They haven't stopped also in such a position? What are they after?" The soldier was increasingly confused to see the towers were still moving closer to the fortress wall. "Their soldiers will only be killed to protect the tower from arrows, spear-throws, and fire magic from our soldiers and witches"
"I think they've completely lost their minds"
"Will the tower be used as a bridge to get the soldiers through the walls of the fort?"
"Maybe, their towers are not as high as these walls. And again they directed the towers to the front of the gate that Ram's chariot should have installed"
"Ram's train? Don't-don't you?!"
-
"Let go!" Shouted General Barna who was in between the throwing train signaled the soldier who was in charge of breaking the rope retaining the stone.
As soon as the rope broke, the two stones dropped down quickly, moving down because the weight of the gravity-drawn rocks moved the four large wooden wheels very quickly. The wheels then move three other wheels that look bigger next to them.
Each of the larger wheels rolled up a woven rope, the end of which was tied to a large wooden rod that had been standing vertically hidden in the cavity of the tower. Until the big wooden rod looks curved like a giant bow being pulled.
While the iron milestones that were seen running along the body of the tower now began to move back slowly as if an arrow.
And once it was seen at its maximum limit, the iron pillar shot forward, darting towards the gate of the fort.
In a row from top to bottom, the six iron milestones hit the wooden gate of the fort like the spears of the Cavalaries.
Not finished everyone was surprised because of the sound of the iron blow to the wooden gate that blared, General Barna was heard shouting "Prepare!" Who gave a warning to everyone in the front of the throwing train to leave immediately.
"Let go!" Shouted General Barna again as an excuse to remove the stone retaining rope of the second car which was right behind the first train.
And the same thing repeated. The iron bars of the second throwing train shot down the gate that had now begun to crack, which at once destroyed the first train in front of him. Six iron milestones struck the gate once again which this time left a huge shake at the top of the gate.
"Prepare!" Said General Barna once again giving a warning before the other party could respond to the attack earlier. And it seemed that everyone in the second carriage had run away leaving him.
"Let go!" General Barna's aba-aba that triggered the third throwing chariot that was slightly further behind the others, to remove the rope retaining the stone.
After seeing the first stone throw was too wide from the right gate, immediately General Barna gave the command "Move the front wheel two steps to the left!"
While the opposing party who had realized that their gate that was the target of the stone throwing carriage immediately counterattacked.
However, due to the position of the second throwing carriage tower that blocked the direction of the spear throw and the position of the distant third carriage behind it, making the other party's attack unable to touch at all.
And as three stones were seen being thrown once more towards the gate, they were only able to fall helplessly in their tracks to see that their majestic fortified gate was finally blown apart.
"The fortress wall. The weakest part was the entrance" Lugwin quoted Nata as saying. "Ram's train is advancing!" His shout then reigned from the back of the throwing carriage earlier along with all his generals and soldiers.
Then the five small carriages, which were towed by a large wooden beam with the tip of an iron ball, and drawn by six horses, sped forward through the now-destroyed gate.
"Forward!" Added Lugwin who was immediately replied with an excited cry of the generals and soldiers who rushed into the city.
Arcdux Lugwin's troops managed to penetrate the walls of the city fortress in no more than half a day. Dux Vincent in the last two months failed to do so.
So after the incident rumors about the Arcdux Lugwin also increased.
-
With the unbalanced strength and morale of the opposing forces that had decreased, the Arcdux troops swept away the rest of the soldiers in the walls of the fortress of Kotaraja quickly.
"It seems that some of the Nobles who were in the city surrendered unconditionally, Arcdux. Even some of the relatives of the Albern family also came to surrender" Sounded Matiu report when now they were all at his residence in the city.
"What about Dux Laurant?"
"Dux Laurant shuts himself and the entire royal castle with protective magic"
"Send a warning message to surrender now"
"Good Arcdux"
-
"Dux Laurant refused to give up Arcdux" Matiu reported moments later.
"How long will the protector last uncle? Do we have a witch to break through?" Lugwin asked.
"When they use the Arcan crystal of the palace for the source of the protective magic power, it means that it is likely to last up to two months" Matiu explained.
"It's ridiculous. How did they survive in the castle for two months? What is the importance of the throne to them?" Lugwin sounded anxious to see the behavior of Dux Laurant.
Everyone who was there was silent did not answer.
"Well then, General Darius, General Elsya. Bring all the witches in the remaining cities and lead your troops to attack the royal palace"
"Ready Arcdux!"
-
And after two days of assault, the magic power of the royal castle's protector collapsed. Dux Laurant was no longer alive on the throne when the combined forces of general Darius and general Elsya raided the castle. It seems that Dux Laurent committed suicide by stabbing a sword of his own second to penetrate the seat of the throne.
-
About six months after it began, the Estrinx civil war was over. After Arcdux Lugwin managed to defeat the power of Dux Vincent and Dux Laurant. Who then occupied the vacant throne of Estrinx. She was named Princess Knight of Estros.
His miraculous reputation of success was heard all the way to the corners of the Elder Plains. It was later believed by many that the miracle of Istar's faith was the main supporter behind his victory.
