The Thousand Year Dynasty
31. A Trap II

In the evening they held a meeting at the residence of one of the nobles located not far from the town square. The meeting was attended by Helen, Nata, Aksa, Lily, Val, and two subordinate knights of Helen.

"According to reports from the monitoring soldiers, two troops approached from the south and east. The Saronia Estate and the Margrace Estate. And each of these armies numbered about one hundred and fifty men" Helen reported to Nata.

"That means a total of three hundred soldiers" Nata seemed to be thinking. "And now how many of our soldiers are capable of battle?" Ask later.

"Over eighty soldiers. And some witches" Helen answered.

"How many chariots can be used?" Ask Nata again.

"We have three chariots in this place. Although two of them were affected by the explosion, only a few small parts were damaged. The rest can still run and can still be used" explained Helen.

"How long has the Urbarians been here?"

"Because they brought the ram train, so it's most likely that tomorrow morning the two men arrived at this place"

"For help from Eblan and Ceodore, when will they arrive?" Nata asked again.

"It is likely that they will also arrive in this city tomorrow morning. But that definitely would not be faster than the Urbarians" Helen gave an explanation.

Nata looks a little nod as if he is weighing something. "Well Miss Helen, so here's our plan" he said, then searched.

"We're going to confront them outside the gate with the three chariots we have" Nata began to explain his plan to the others. "I know three battle chariots is no match for an army of three hundred soldiers. But our goal this time is just to buy time and reduce their numbers as much as we can, before they get to the city gates.

"Stay attacking carefully. If it is not possible, withdraw your troops. No need to force yourself" closed Nata later.

"good. I understand, lord Nata" Helen replied quickly.

"I'm going to go with them out, Nat" Aksa suddenly said that surprised Helen.

"Do you mind that, Miss Helen?" Nata asked Helen normally. It was as if he had known that Aksa would say so.

"I don't mind" Helen replied.

"Well then, be careful, Aks" said Nata later, who was only answered by Aksa with a nod of the head.

After midnight, three chariots with six men each began to slide out of the city gates of Meso to block the Urbarite army.

They will concentrate the attack on the troops coming from the east first. Because the path is quite sloping and easier to pass.

They will attack from far away. And keep trying to keep your distance.

Helen was seen coming out of the top of the chariot when the Urbar royal troops had begun to be seen in front. And just as he had done while attacking the city of Meso before, he raised his two mystic swords upwards and began to chant.

Before long, the two blades of his sword began to shine brightly in the dark middle of the night. Blue and red. And then came a few fireballs hovering between the ice pillars above Helen's head.

Because of this, the opposing forces immediately realized the existence of the battle chariot of Pharos troops. And the witches they immediately put up a position to create protective magic.

Then along with Helen who pulled her sword forward, dozens of fireballs and ice pillars were sliding forward towards the Urbar kingdom army.

Although the witches had prepared protective magic that managed to fend off some of the fireball and ice pillar attacks, but because the number was too much, some of them managed to escape and hit the soldiers.

But this time the Urbar kingdom troops did not panic and fled. This time the army swiftly made a formation breaking into three parts, where the soldiers mounted their shields in front of the magicians and archers who were ready to shoot their magic and arrows. While their cavalry began to attack.

Seeing the horsemen begin to advance, Helen gave a signal to start firing iron nets from weapons mounted on the chariot. And before long, one by one the horsemen began to fall entangled in iron nets.

In response, Aksa, who was driving one of the combat trains, began to spur speed and lead in front of the other two combat trains.

"Turn on the electric shock and drill bit" Aksa ordered the soldier sitting next to him.

"Ready!" Replied the soldier by starting busy pulling the levers in front of him.

Aksa's chariot continued to go straight to the Urbar royal horseman's entourage.

Looking at the opponent carriage which seemed to have no intention of changing direction, made the cavalry soldiers avoid it and try to attack it from the side. But it was a futile thing. Between their weapons bounced when they hit the body of the war chariot, or they fell limp due to electrocution.

And without reducing the speed, Aksa's battle chariot continued to go straight towards the defensive formation of the Urbar kingdom's army.

"Miss Helen, it seems that Lord Aksa continues to move straight towards the opponent's position" the driver of the chariot where Helen was located told.

Although their initial plan was to conduct long-range attacks and keep their distance, Helen believed that Aksa had no idea what to do.

"Follow the chariot of Lord Aksa!" Helen's orders later. And the other two battle chariots seemed to start following Aksa's chariot.

.

Fire, lightning, ice, and arrows magic immediately rained down on Aksa's battle chariot. But that doesn't have much impact. The chariot continued to advance and then crashed into a formation of masked soldiers who were in the front row. Making the soldiers were thrown in all directions due to the impact of the round of his drill bit.

Seeing that the defense had been broken through, the witches immediately made a magic protector before them to keep the chariot from hitting them.

But immediately Aksa slammed the steering wheel to the right before his chariot could touch the magic protector in front of him.

While this was used by Helen to shoot fireballs and ice pillars to a place that is not protected by the magic wall. Which caused the archers' formation to start falling apart.

"Mr Aksa, it looks like their troops from the south have arrived" the soldier, who was at the top of the Aksa train, told reporters.

And as Aksa looked up from the window slit to his right, it appeared that from the south the other forces of Urbar kingdom began to approach to help.

Helen, knowing this, immediately issued an order to retreat into the gate.

Shortly after they returned to the city of Meso, the combined forces of the two Urbar kingdoms arrived before the city gates.

And after the attack by the three battle chariots, now the number of their soldiers was reduced to about 210 soldiers. The troops led by Helen managed to reduce 80 soldiers.

Helen made an ice wall right in front of the city gate. While continuing to launch his ice pillar and fireball attacks from above the city wall. While the other soldiers attacked with iron stake bullets.

They continued to persist until the sun began to appear in the eastern sky. The city guard soldiers had started to run out of bullets, and Helen had already started to run out of stamina. Two chariots and several tens of horsemen came from the north and west. The relief forces have arrived.

Knowing this, the Urbar kingdom army began to look a little panicked. They immediately split up the formation to prepare for the two relief forces.

And since his strength was divided, also because the troops from the Eblan region were led by Wedge who used a mystic weapon, a wind arrow, then it was easy for the Urbar kingdom army to be repulsed.

In the end Pharos' army managed to defend the city of Meso and defeated the royal forces of Urbar. For most people, however, they do not consider it a victory. Especially Aksa and Nata.

From the top of the gate wall, Helen looked at the ruins in the middle of the city. The light of the morning sun made them remember the defeat they had received.
