27.5. Lugwin Story: Gathering Power I

After a long day of traveling, Lugwin finally arrived at Yahld, where his uncle Eldmo lived. His horse-drawn carriage was greeted by his uncle and aunt who looked worried as he entered the grounds of the Salton family residence.

"How are you Lug?" Eldmon said as they sat in the guest room.

"Okay, uncle" replied Lugwin.

"What happened during these three weeks Lug? Do you eat regularly? Your body looks thinner" this time her aunt who asked looked worried.

"I eat with my aunt regularly, probably because now I move more so look thinner" Lugwin replied with a smile so that his aunt stopped worrying about him.

"So what happened, Lug, where have you been for the past three weeks? We're all worried. I heard that the gates of Kotaraja are starting to close by Dux Laurent"

"I'm fine, uncle. There is something I want to talk to my uncle" said Lugwin who then told me what was going on and what he had experienced during these three weeks.

-

"What were you talking about?" Eldmo was surprised to be in disbelief at Lugwin's story and explanation.

"As you heard uncle, the day the Oracle died I had a dream. He came to me, and told me that I had to stop this war" Lugwin repeated.

"Are you kidding me?"

"I headed to the village of Dyms to make sure. I came to Yahld's directly from the village of Dyms, uncle Matiu is still there even now"

"What's? Matiu? What exactly is he thinking?" It sounds like Eldmo doesn't believe it.

Lugwin was silent and did not answer. He is currently filled with a sense of dilemma because he had to lie to his uncle about the Oracle's rumors. The girl was trying to fight her guilt.

"Then what are you going to do to stop this war?" Eldmo asked after he found Lugwin's face distressed. He could not bear to see his nephew with that face.

"Oracle has given her orders in detail about what I should do" Lugwin replied with a straight look at the table before him. He did not dare to look at his uncle.

"And what is it?" Ask Eldmo curiously.

"First he asked me to gather the nobles and form an alliance" Lugwin replied again with a slight delay, being careful of the reaction Eldmo would show.

"Certain uncle. He said that this alliance would later destroy the two Dux and stop this war" Lugwin replied.

Eldmo raised his hands and then pulled his hair back. His face looks riled up.

"Didn't my uncle trust me?" Ask Lugwin then in a doubtful tone.

Eldmo looked at Lugwin with his tired face, "It's not so Lug. But this is not a reasonable thing. And who else would you invite to join this alliance?" Said later.

"First of all are the branch families of the uncle Estros family"

Eldmo closed his eyes and let out a long sigh at Lugwin's reply, "And if they want to join, then what will you do? They are a family that has no soldiers. The soldiers they had were city guards, mercenaries, and other potluck-trained residents. How can you compare it to the strength of those two Dux?"

"If it is so that I take care of it later, the most important thing is that I need uncle's help to support this alliance. And it also helps convince other families to join" Lugwin said in an imploring tone.

"Lugwin, what are you really doing" Eldmo muttered as he leaned his body back.

"I will only be here last night uncle, tomorrow I will go to the residence of Dux Aldrico in Khelo" added Lugwin later.

"You're going to Khelo tomorrow? Rest first, the trip there takes a day and a half, you just got to this day" this time the aunt who spoke worriedly heard Lugwin's plan.

"Because there's no more time bi, don't worry I'll be fine" Lugwin replied calmly.

"Do you really mean it?" This time it was Eldmo who sounded in disbelief.

Lugwin simply replied with a definite nod.

It looks like Aldmo is holding a long breath. He surrendered, "Well then, I'll try to contact the other families as well" Eldmo said, following Lugwin's request.

"Thank you uncle"

"Well then rest now, tomorrow will be a long journey for you" the aunt immediately escorted Lugwin to her room.
