"What are you lamenting, Xiggy?" Asked a stern-faced Narva man with yellow hair who was already beginning to look faded, to a slim, athletic looking young Narva who sat daydreaming.
The man was Dux Tyrion of the Raygod Estate. He was one of the officials of the Urbar kingdom who took care of the border of the region. Starting from the permission of people in and out of the kingdom, to security from the threat of other kingdoms.
"Oh. You, mister Tyrion?" replied the young man called Xiggy in slight surprise. He did not realize anyone had entered his room. "I'm thinking about how to cover the cost of aggression this season" the young man added.
The young man was Xiggaz, of the Greyland noble family. He was a subordinate of Tyrion, who was at once his protege.
"Don't you just need to cover it from the county tax?" Tyrion said as he fixed the collar of his luxurious silk shirt in front of the large glass attached to the wall of the left side of the entrance of the room.
"That can't be the first choice right now, Mr. Tyrion. It has been three months since the visitors of Xin city reduced, almost half more. The biggest regional tax we have received so far is from the crossing of ships in the city" Xiggaz replied with a tired face. Then pull her yellow hair back. Looks frustrated.
"How come? Is the Transition Season taking longer than usual, to disrupt the crossing schedule?" Tyrion turned to look at Xiggaz curiously.
"No, Mr. Tyrion. Looks like there's a new city standing on Pharos's dead land. And they somehow managed to make a faster path through the dead land" Xiggaz explained.
"New town on dead land? How long has the city been there?" Tyrion sat in front of his protege. He had just heard about the city.
"Maybe it's about ten months or a year, sir" Xiggaz looked increasingly lethargic.
"really? Only a new city could already do such a thing?" Tyrion looks curious. "Is the city part of Elbrasta?" He leaned his body backwards as if weighing something.
"Of course, it looks like it's a free city. I've never found out about it. But the high-quality goods that are rife among the nobility lately, are rumored to come from the city" Xiggaz replied still languidly.
"really? And how could they sell their goods within this kingdom?" It seems Tyrion is increasingly interested in the city that Xiggaz told.
"If it is not wrong, they made a trade agreement with Dux Mateus of the Ignus Estate" Xiggaz replied later.
A faint smile now rose on Tyrion's face. "Ingenious too they can pass the central approval. This can't be allowed. Try to find out about the city, Xiggy" the Narva man ordered later.
Seeing Tyrion's smile, Xiggaz became even more excited. Because he knew his boss was planning something, and that bodes well for the problems he is going through right now. "Okay sir" Xiggaz answered sparingly.
"Oh and also, the Eight Guards have arrived since last night. Now that Mr. Noel is waiting for you in the middle room, Mr. Tyrion" Xiggaz told Tyrion.
"All right then. Thank you Xiggy. I'll be there soon" replied Tyrion who seemed to confirm his grooming once more in front of the glass, before leaving the room.
-
"How are you, Noel? I heard you guys are having trouble in the northern forest" Tyrion said shortly after he entered the central room.
"Oh, Mr. Tyrion. It was because we were being unlucky" replied a long-haired Morra man dressed as a hunter, who immediately stood up from his seat when he saw Tyrion entering the room.
Morra's man is Noel. Not much information about him. Backgrounds, families, residences, everything is mysterious. No one knows. But what everyone knows is, Morra's man is a hunter with martial arts and magic abilities that are worth counting. He was the leader of a group of loose knights known as the Eight Guards.
"But I can't believe you've had bad luck. Especially you, Noel" Tyrion replied as he walked towards the seat opposite Noel sat down.
"Then how? Is all the preparation done?" Tyrion asked who was already sitting before the Morra man.
"Don't worry, Mr. Tyrion. The mystic weapons and Arcane rocks you need are ready" Noel replied calmly and steadily.
"I've given everything to Mr. Xiggaz. We both have also made sure together that the amount and quality are in accordance with what you want" Noel added.
"You never disappoint, Noel. The results of your work are really very satisfying" said Tyrion who looks satisfied.
"And as we agreed, this is the thing you wanted" Tyrion seemed to take a paper roll from under his blue silk robe, and handed it to Noel.
Noel received the scroll and seemed to smile after seeing the contents.
"Also very satisfying to work with you, Mr. Tyrion" replied Noel who also looks satisfied after finding an item that suits what he wants.
"Together, Noel. When I need something more, don't feel bored when I call you guys again" Tyrion said with a smile that looked more like a grin on his lips.
"It's the opposite, Mr. Tyrion. We are waiting for a call and a task from you" replied Noel who was seen bowing politely. "All right then. For now, I'm sorry to leave" he added later.
"Please" said Tyrion still with a happy face to see the figure of Noel leave the room.
-
"What does he now want as his exchanger, Lord Tyrion?" Xiggaz asked who seemed to be following up to the room where Tyrion was, after Noel had already left the place.
"A piece of the ancient manuscript stored in the palace library" Tyrion replied with his leisurely face, looking at the nail piece on the finger of his right hand.
"Did you take it from the palace library, Mr Tyrion? Isn't that a royal heirloom?" Xiggaz was surprised and worried about what Tyrion had done.
"The heirloom is of such historical value, it will give nothing to this kingdom" replied Tyrion then who this time stared at the fingernail piece of his left hand. "Just relax, Ziggy. Calm" he added.
"But it remains a dangerous act, Lord Tyrion" Xiggaz still felt worried.
"A little more. Less is more, and I will remove the barrier to get to the first position, next to the king's majesty" Tyrion said with a fluffy grin on his face.
"You think these left and right fingernail clippings are the same, no, Xiggy?" Tyrion asked, showing Xiggaz the nails on his hands.
