27. Imprisonment I
The day after departing from the city of Zeraza, the group of Aksa and Nata arrived at the cliff slope. The place where they found Pietro's body had fainted earlier.
This time they also saw a figure in the middle of the road. But not lying helpless like Pietro, but standing upright against the road.
Lily stopped her carriage. Jean and Caspian stopped in front of the carriage.
"Who are you? Why block our path?" Shouted Caspian asking. His hand was ready on the sword hilt at his waist. Something was wrong with the man in front of him.
The man did not answer, slowly he raised both hands forward and suddenly without a cut, a ball of fire shot out of the air right in front of his hand past Caspian and Jean towards the horse-drawn carriage.
As yet Caspian and Jean reacted, a bright blue ball of light shot out from the direction the horse-drawn carriage struck the fireball. Which caused an explosion with a roaring sound between the valleys.
The ball of light came from Lily. After Caspian and Jean looked back, Lily was already with a stick in her hand, putting the fighting horses from the coachman's seat.
"What was that? Fireball?" Chirps Aksa looked surprised but also sounded excited.
As yet Caspian and Jean prepared to head off the second attack, the man had already begun to strike back.
This time there were dozens of fireballs speeding together leading to the horse carriage. The fireball was traveling at an unpatterned pace.
And to face her Lily deftly lifted her staff forward and a thin light shone before her like a glass wall driving away most of the fireballs that led to their chariot.
However some of the escaping fireballs hit the ground and some hit the wheels of the carriage. Making the carriage collapse and surprise the horses who then ran wild is not necessarily direction. Passing through Caspian's horse and Jean head towards the man who attacked them earlier.
Lily quickly pulls Lucia, Aksa, and Nata out of the car.
And shortly after that the train was smashed to pieces by a huge fireball that was released by the man just moments before.
The carriage towing horse ran in panic to save itself. While Caspian and Jean immediately get off their horses and run towards the figure of Lucia, Nata, and Aksa who fell on the ground after being pulled out by Lily.
Lily was ready with the horses to face their attacking man.
"Are you okay, princess?" Jean makes sure of Lucia's condition while helping the girl rise to her feet.
"Yes I'm fine"
"Who are you? And what exactly is your purpose?" Caspian asked who had prepared next to Lily this time.
After careful consideration the man was a Morra. With a red robe that covered part of his body. And wearing leather pants commonly worn by hunters.
Still speechless, the man raised his hand again and dozens of fireballs began to appear again in the air between them.
"It's really the fantasy world battle I've been waiting for. But not in a dangerous position like this as well" said Aksa mixed between excitement and fear.
Lily nimbly banished all the fireballs thrown at them by slashing and shooting at him with a white beam from her staff.
Caspian and Jean decide to go ahead and shorten the distance with their attackers. The most reasonable thing to fight a long distance mage like now.
It seems that Jean used the magic she once showed Aksa and Nata. Because the protective iron plate looks dim blue.
Jean ran right in front of Caspian. While the red-robed man's fireball did not leave any marks after it hit Jean's body. And as if unstoppable Jean continued to run forward shortening the distance.
"Well, Jean's magic turned out great" this time Nata said amazed to see Jean.
While behind Jean, Caspian seemed ready with his drawn sword. And as soon as it was within his range, Caspian made a high leap through Jean's body, pointing his sword at their opponent's man.
And suddenly, as if thrust from the ground, a stone wall was sticking out right in front of the man, fending off Jean and Caspian's attacks simultaneously.
And from the blind spot of Jean and Caspian, from behind the stone wall that had just emerged from the ground, slid several swooping fireballs towards the unprepared Jean and Caspian.
Although he tried to avoid it and hold it, the fireball still hit Jean and Caspian's body. Caspian who had jumped in the air because he had no place to stand, slammed backward because of the fireball attack earlier.
Then the man jumped back and forth keeping his distance as the stone wall began to sink again into the ground.
"What did we just see Nat?"
"Right, like looking at a movie with visual effects"
Caspian stood up again and mounted the horses next to Jean. While Lily is behind them protecting Aksa, Nata, and Lucia.
"He made fire and earth magic quickly and effectively" Caspian said.
"And judging from his movements, the man was an experienced fighter. Maybe a former fighting witch" added Jean, who also judged.
"Don't you be the leader of the Midas bandits? The Cursed Hand?" Guess Caspian.
"Are you going to avenge your men we captured?" This time Jean asked.
Hearing these words made the man who had been silent earlier began to speak up.
"I didn't come here to do something so trivial. I came here to kill the girl" the man said later, pointing to Lucia.
"True to my guess, he's after Lucia. Miss Lily, please take them away from here while we're both going to hold the man" Caspian told her of the plan.
"Alright" Lily answered quickly. And then immediately headed towards Aksa, Nata, and Lucia, then led her to flee the place.
"You think you can just get away from this place? You guys are wrong. You will all die here" said the man in a threatening voice. Which even just by hearing it alone had made Aksa and Nata goosebumps.
"Especially you're Lucia Elbrasta! You're gonna die here to finish it all!" The man continued shouting before then a rowdy sound came from behind the cliff.
"What's that sound?" Caspian was starting to worry.
"Like a lot of people screaming from a distance" Aksa said this time while focusing on finding out.
Shortly thereafter came the origin of these sounds.
"Mugger?!" Lily looked surprised.
"Are we going to die here, Nat?"
"I'm still a virgin"
"I've never even dated"
Dozens of humans with crocodile-like herds dressed in hunter-gatherers began to rush from the side of the cliff on the right down the slope to where Lucia, Nata, and Aksa stood.
