12. Information for Information

"Then what should we do next?" Stevan asked after they had been in the village meeting hall finished dinner.

The meeting hall was not very large, located right next to Stevan's house. In addition to Nata, Aksa, and Stevan, Couran, Lucia, Jean, Huebert, Loujze, and Duexter have been recovering well since two days ago. There are also some residents who seem to be village devices.

"Alright, first of all is to anticipate that something like this does not happen again in the future. We need to make terracing on the side of the cliff" Nata replied.

"Trazed?" Sounded Stevan representing the others asking.

"I mean making a fence as a buffer along the edge of the cliff" explained Nata. "The "slides are most likely due to water eroding soil density. So by making a flow of water seepage with bamboo or the like, then forming a cliff edge into a step like a step, then planting a buffer stone as a fence, surely in the future such a disaster will not be repeated. Whenever it happens it will certainly not be as bad as yesterday" he closed later.

Everyone in the room was just speechless listening to Nata with still not fully understanding what was being said.

"Then for a more optimal farming is to do the correct irrigation system" Nata continued.

"Irigation?"

"I mean watering. If the east contains more water than the south or west, then the water must be flowed evenly. Because what I came across yesterday, there are some lands in the south and west that do not produce good crops because the land is too dry, while in the eastern part some land is in vain not used because it is flooded" explained Nata again at length.

"Aksa has already made notes for the ways it works. It may take two weeks to fence the cliff in the north. And the rest is to build irrigation systems and maximize land use" closed Nata later.

"Why are you thinking so much about this village" asked Stevan, who was not sure why these two strangers suddenly appeared and helped them get to this.

"We only pay the debt of gratitude" Aksa said as she raised her thumb towards Couran.

"Teaching you to read and let you read all those shabby scrolls?" This time it was Couran who spoke because he also did not feel commensurate between the help he gave with what Nata and Aksa did for this village.

"Information for information. Science for science. I think all this is comparable. We're not the ones building all that. The villagers will build it. We just gave her the information" Nata replied later with a smile.

"They're very sweet when it's like this" said Jean Geregetan.

"I think we will also stay here and continue to help until the cliff fence and irrigation system is complete" said Huebert.

"You don't have to go this far" Couran said.

"I also want to return the favor to this village, for saving and caring for me" Deuxter said.

The next day after they had finished breakfast and were about to prepare for today's work schedule, Lucia and Jean emerged from the kitchen with their lunch packets.

"We also decided to stay to help until the cliff fence and the water system was completed" said Lucia.

"Two weeks. You guys still want to stay here in two weeks?" Ask Aksa probing. "You didn't go to your destination immediately?"

"They're unemployed Aks" said Nata.

"Where might the messenger of the gods act?"

-

"Why did you do something like this, Nat?" Lucia asked Nata when they, Aksa, and Jean were taking shelter under a shady tree at lunch break. Not far from the residents who are working to break up large rocks.

"What do you mean princess?"

"With everything that looked dramatic yesterday" Lucia said later. The girl was really curious as to what exactly Nata thought.

"I need people here to do what I tell them. Otherwise, I would be tired of desperately making sure to them to believe in this stranger" replied lightly typical Nata.

"Just because of that? Not because you want to show off your abilities?" Sela Jean is prejudiced.

"It's true that I like to always be considered superior, but not for that purpose" Nata replied by still feeding a piece of carrot into the mouth. "Changing things that have existed for generations is very difficult. It's like trying to change a habit or even a culture. Especially a stranger like me. Therefore this way is the most powerful"

"You mean?"

"By giving the image that we are capable and superior to them will give rise to a sense of naturalness when we rule them, even though we are people they have just known. Then by emphasizing that we will help selflessly, it will cause sympathy that makes them want to do what we argue. Although it is a cultural change" explained Nata at length. "Like that roughly" he closed.

"It makes sense" Aksa said, biting off a cut of his boiled potato.

"So what you're doing is just manipulating them? You are indeed demon boys" Jean said after hearing Nata's explanation. Nata just smiled a little.

"Hey, he's the devil. I'm a messenger of the gods" Aksa said.

"Then why do you want them to change the way they grow? What's in it for you when they get better?" Ask Lucia again. "I can't believe that you're helping selflessly" he added before Nata began answering.

"It's true princess. There is no such thing as selfless. I did it too because I was hoping for something" Nata replied.

"So for what?"

"I still don't know what I can get from them. But obviously now I have a place to ask for help if I have trouble"

"Propelling the mind" said Aksa.

"really. Help for help" Nata added.

"By the way you are quite good at cooking for the size of a noble princess" Aksa added.

"How dare you say you to the princess!"
