24.5 Anthology Story: The First Bridge
"The valley is not very wide, so to ease our journey forward, we will make a bridge while crossing this valley" couran said when they reached the edge of a valley on the entrance of the hill fence of the Pharos region, along with Val, Haldin, Matyas, and Loujze. There were 15 more people behind them.
This was the next plan they would do after the iron chariot could already be used. They will begin to move all the encampments to the areas within the Pharos region. To make it easier when making equipment without having to take it across valleys and hills again when needed.
The five of them along with 15 craftsmen only took two days to get to this place from their camp. It was all because of the iron chariot. Because with such a large and heavy luggage, it might take between four and five days to get to this place with a regular horse carriage.
"Well Matyas, gather our members to install the heavy equipment now" Haldin ordered later.
It took half a day to remove and install the heavy equipment that was meant by Haldin earlier. Now they have started to put up a tent ready to rest, after the sun has completely sunk.
They made a tent not far from the lips of the valley. There were iron columns coming out of the bottom of the valley. It was the heavy equipment they had installed.
The shape is like a guard tower that is usually at the gate of the village or city. But it was built very high from the bottom of the valley and does not have guard posts on it. It is also made of iron.
Then at the top there is a pole with a similar shape but in a position crossed back with a pole that stands. There are iron wheels between the intersection of the two poles, which makes the outstretched pole can move back and forth and rotate.
Then at the end of the poles there is a mine like the one attached to the anchor of the ship. But what distinguishes it is this mine in braids from a collection of iron wire, until this mine becomes very strong and also very heavy.
The iron mine was wrapped around a rolling device that had a Locomotive furnace like on an iron train, beside it. Which is used to tighten and loosen the coils. The rollers were fitted with eight large pegs of iron to lock them in place.
Even to make sure the pegs were pierced deeply into the ground, they made a device that was also powered by a Locomotive furnace to push the iron pegs into the ground.

In the morning they began their work to build a bridge across the valley with the help of iron poles.
The iron pole is used as a means of transporting heavy bridge material to be installed. By connecting it to the iron mine which is then lifted and rotated to the place required by the rolling tool and the pole across. Using the working principle of pulley and simple lever.
And because of this, the bridge can be completed in a week with no more than 20 workers. Twenty times faster than the time it takes to build a bridge in the usual way.

"Are you sure you're driving Matyas?" Couran's question convinced Matyas when after the bridge was completed. They would try to pass through it with that heavy iron carriage for a test run.
"I will accompany Mr. Matyas, Mr. Couran" Loujze offered.
"Trust all the gods" said Haldin, touching Matyas's shoulder.
"Calm all, I believe this bridge was built firmly" said Matyas lightly as he rushed up the iron train without any worries. It was followed by Loujze.
"Young people are warm-blooded" Haldin said later.
Soon after the iron kerta began to walk slowly over the bridge.
And the result was a great success. The iron chariot crossed over and returned safely.
The other craftsmen started shouting 'Stimtrak! Stimtraks!' Repeatedly upon finding the iron chariot back towards the side of the valley.

"Well, after this we will cross to ensure the terrain and find a suitable place for our new camp" Couran told Val, Haldin, Matyas and Loujze after lunch.
"Let Matyas stay with the others here. Just to be on guard" said Haldin gave an idea.

After that the five of them with iron chariots began to cross the bridge. Soon they arrived at the bottom of a winding ravine that had high cliffs on its left and right sides to cover the sunlight to enter. And after passing through the bottom of the ravine, they finally reached the open area afterwards.
This area is a fairly large open area. The area Aksa mentioned earlier. The soil looks dry. On the north side of this area there is a cliff wall that rises very high. It is often called the northern wall. The west and south sides of it there are plains again only the altitude is different. Be taller. Almost as high as the walls of the cities in the Elbrasta region.
While in the southwestern part of the area, interrupted between the two higher plains there is a valley that leads to a large canyon towards the middle of the Pharos region. The canyon is what Aksa means as a large gorge that cuts the central region with the northern region of Pharos.
"I think this is the only place we have for this moment" Haldin said after observing his surroundings with an uncomfortable face.
