Jakarta, Indonesia, one year ago.

2019

The clock on the wall shows ten o'clock in the evening. Heavy rain poured all over the city, everyone who was sleeping in his bed tightened his blanket. Reluctant to get up from his bed.

That night was so quiet. Unlike usual, which is still crowded even though the night is getting late. Everyone is busy exploring their dream world. Without anyone noticing that between the late and heavy rains that were pouring down the city, something big was about to happen.

Something that had never been expected before, and something that shook the entire world.

Elvina, who was seventeen years old. At that time, he was still awake. Sitting at his study table illuminated by study lights.

When other High School students are busy falling asleep and resting to recover their energy after a solid week of study, unlike him who is still struggling with books and questions for future exams.

"Point," he murmured slowly as soon as he finished summarizing some of the material he had to memorize.

Elvina rested for a moment. He put the pen in his hand on the table. His hand moved to stretch each of his stiff finger muscles due to too much writing, followed by stretching his body so that the stiffness in his back was lost.

Elvina massaged his nape. After feeling better, he then grabbed a book containing the material he just finished summarizing.

Elvina read slowly every row of sentences listed there. It was written in pitch black ink with every string of letters so neat. He rereads, making sure there is not the slightest bit of important material left behind to face his test next Sunday.

He put the book in his hand back on the table. Thirst that hit his dry throat, making Elvina inevitably have to move to take water in the kitchen room.

Elvina grabbed a glass on her empty study table. He had just gulped down all the contents until the toilet some time ago.

He stepped out of his room. Elvina walked over to the kitchen. Passing through his sister's room, William, whose door was slightly open.

Elvina was the first of five children. He has four younger brothers. Two of them sat in elementary school, then one was not even a year old, and the other was William who now sat in the second grade Junior High School.

Elvina halted her footsteps when she saw William's room door being closed untidy. Making a little gap that makes it easier for Elvina to see into her sister's room.

He looked inside. His hand moved pushing the door open wide enough. Elvina was able to see her sister's room with a green gradation, which looked messy as usual.

Elvina snorted in annoyance. He then stepped inside and picked up some dirty clothes scattered on the floor.

"Why haven't you slept? It's late" he told William, who was also awake.

The man glanced towards the arrival of the sound for a moment, then refocused himself on the screen of his phone.

"Why indeed? It's Friday night and tomorrow's the weekend. That means I can sleep all day, tomorrow" he said. William moves both thumbs to attack the enemy in the online game he is playing. Elvina breathed a second time.
