Adventure In The Dark
Tragedy 664 - Waking up early

"Darling!" Dorothy approached the man and sat down right beside him. The man turned his attention to Dorothy who had just arrived.

"Why are you here, baby?"

"Because we have something to talk about. It's about your suddenly weird attitude" Dorothy said. Cato who heard it just kept silent while turning his face the other way.

"I've heard from Joe and Derek. The boys said your attitude turned weird after you met Miles and Martin in their lab. Did you argue with them about something to the point of making you turn weird like this?" Dorothy asked carefully. However, all the problems are not clear and she is here just trying to make her husband a little calmer so that everything becomes clear.

"We had a small argument. It's about their project. They asked me to help with their project, but I didn't want to."

Dorothy frowned. It was only the first time she heard her husband reject Martin and Miles's invitation to join a project. Usually Cato always join and interfere in every project they make. "Why don't you want to? You don't usually refuse their requests."

"I can't explain why to you right now. The point is I refused, and they kept forcing me to join. They even keep calling me."

"Are your decisions completely unanimous? Can't you think about it one more time? It's possible that Miles and Martin really need your help."

Cato looked at his wife. Dorothy could probably easily say that because she didn't know anything. But if he finds out, Cato is sure that she too will make the same decision as him.

The night was getting late, and the midnight felt like it had passed. For hours the people in his house were busy with their night activities, namely sleeping and wandering in their dreamland.

Before going to bed, Cato also had time to get a phone call from Martin who was still trying to ask him to help them. The man was completely tireless and unyielding. He even continued to struggle in hopes of persuading Cato to join their research. Miles and Martin's decision is not without reason.

Cato was their best friend since college, the man also became one of the best graduates in his department, and again Cato was already a part of them. Miles and Martin can't trust any scientist other than Cato. Moreover, the man is also easier to work with. Yep... If he really accepted their call.

Cato opened his eyes slowly. Thirst really makes his sleep disturbed. He got up and glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. That night the clock showed at one in the morning which means he had not really slept even eight hours.

Cato got out of bed. He tried to take drinking water to relieve his thirst. Slowly, Cato left the room and went towards the ground floor of his house.
