Adventure In The Dark

Adventure In The Dark
Tragedy 680 - Dark room

...***...

Dorothy and Cato continued walking, down the hallway containing the rooms lined up along the corridor. In each room there was a window that allowed Dorothy to see the people inside. There were countless children that Dorothy saw, and most of them were around three to seven years old.

Dorothy's in shock isn't playing with how many kids are in there. They were all confined to a room containing a sleeping bed, and they were dressed in numbered clothes like a prisoner. "How many children did you kidnap? Is the data true, there are more than a thousand children gathered in this place from all corners of the world?"

"As you know. But that's only part of it."

"What's? How many more kids did you kidnap?"

"Martin and Miles said this would happen over and over again, every year new kids would come along, and old kids would be free to live their new lives. Like life, there's a kid coming, and somebody's leaving." Cato continued walking, while Dorothy remained in disbelief. This whole thing feels really terrible. It turns out Cato, Miles and Martin are crazier than he ever imagined. They had even planned this to that extent.

"Why are you silent? Do you want to stay here? If you keep quiet here, then you'll miss the first session."

"What do you mean?" Dorothy looked at him with a confused face.

"Actually I brought you here not just to show you all this. Except to get you to see the process."

"P-process?"

"W-what?" Dorothy was speechless. Her brain really doesn't work now, the sentence from Cato just now really astonished her. But it was completely ignored by Cato who now turned around and invited him to leave.

Dorothy followed the man from behind until they finally arrived in front of a door. At the door, Dorothy meets two large men who guard the door. "You come in, I have to see Miles and Martin first."

"I want to go with you."

"No, you better wait inside. If you meet them, they'll be nervous."

"But—"

"Come in. They'll both be with you." Cato looked at the two men at the door. Their faces looked terrifying, yet their appearance was too neat just as a doorkeeper. "We met after the show was over."

Cato just left Dorothy. The woman was just about to chase after him, but the two guards she saw immediately held Dorothy back and asked her to enter. Dorothy who could do nothing could only follow their request. The woman stepped into the room. Arriving inside, the room was so dark. Dorothy could barely see anything. But his attention turned to a super-large glass window whose exterior revealed a light so bright. Dorothy approaching.
