Nils is an evolver, just like Derek who has two different abilities. They meet for the first time in the laboratory, while Derek and Nils are still under the supervision of other lab professors and evolvers.
After a period in the lab, Derek and Nils are out together and sent back to their respective places.
Joe, who was in the lab at the time, asked Nils to look after Derek. At that time Nils often get big projects in Indonesia, especially Kalimantan Tarakan area.
After traveling for a few minutes, they finally arrived in front of a large building that was quite luxurious. The building was none other than Nils's home which he used during his project in Tarakan.
Derek and Nils step out of the car. Derek stood at the front door of the car with his head looking up at the beautiful building owned by his friend.
"It seems you've been so successful that you've been able to build a house this big just to take care of your work here." Derek shifted his focus for a moment on the man.
"Haha, that's it." Nils closed the car door. Approaching Derek who had been standing with a backpack bag on his shoulder.
"I'm curious about it."
"Then come on in, I'll take you around. You'll definitely be very comfortable staying here, let alone this place being so quiet." Nils approached the entrance with Derek walking behind him.
Arriving inside, Derek was amazed by the design of his room that was so conceptual and very neat. Everything looks very beautiful and comfortable, especially with some wall hangings that look simple but do not reduce the aesthetics of the room.
"Welcome to my home."
"Gee, it really looks comfortable. I love the design." Derek spread his gaze around.
"thank you. By the way, please sit down, you must be tired from a long trip, right? I'll make you a drink and bring you a snack." Nils moved to the kitchen room while Derek approached the soft sofa and sat there with the bag he had placed next to him.
Nine o'clock at night. After finishing dinner together, Derek and Nils sat in the living room. Nils was busy with his work, his focus since then continued on the laptop screen that was in his lap.
Derek beside him enjoyed a snack given by Nils with a cup of warm coffee to accompany a pretty cold night.
"Which is the job you have to do here?" Nils took one of the files on the table and checked it again.
Derek took a slow sip of his coffee before replying, "I'm going to research the marine biota here" he said calmly.
"so apparently. But... why in Tarakan? Aren't you able to research marine life in other parts of Indonesia?" Nils looked at Derek questioningly.
Derek put the cup in his grip onto the table. "In the past year, I've been researching all the marine ecosystems in Indonesia and all that's left is here. I haven't researched the ecosystem at all in Tarakan, so I decided to come here."
Nils who heard only the mangosteen responded to his story. Derek got out of his seat.
"Where are you going?" ask Nils.
"Fresh air. I want to enjoy the night air first before starting my research tomorrow."
"It looks like you can't wait to get started."
Derek chuckled in response to Nils' words.
