The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 1

It was a sunny April in Los Angeles, and the weather was very peaceful. The freezing rain spell had just passed, gradually being replaced by the boisterous warmth of summer.

The young students filled the lush green lawns of the EUC School of Cinematic Arts, relaxing, reading, and chatting amongst themselves. Some were seen tapping their phones and laptops.

The air is filled with youth, optimism, and promise.

Among them, a student walked over with a deflated expression on his face. He held a cardboard box in his hand filled with miscellaneous items as he exited the EUC.

His name is Will Evans and he just got out of EUC.

"I can't believe I've moved to an alternate earth ..."

He muttered softly as he walked, his eyes staring at the people he could recognize from his memories from time to time.

Last week, Will found himself inside the body of someone he couldn't recognize. Coincidentally, both have the same name and interest but there are many different things.

The first thing is he is no longer in 2021 but 2010. No covid occurs and anyone can roam around freely without caring for the virus.

But there was one more thing that surprised Will.

He was on an alternate earth. Will finds out after he hears his former roommate talk about a top actress who will star in a romantic comedy next month.

But to his surprise, Will had never heard of it.

After going through all his memories, he realized that although this earth was the same as the one he was familiar with in the advancement of technology, there were many different things.

For starters, most of the movies, celebrities, and songs she knew did not exist and were replaced by something else.

Will was in the same situation as Zhang Ye right now!

The first thought in his mind after knowing this was that he could replicate the movies and TV shows he knew and become rich.

But it's not simple at all.

Even if he can remember the plot for some movies, he doesn't remember it frame by frame or every dialogue.

At most, he could make a rough scenario. And even if he could write Harry Potter, there was no guarantee that it would work.

After all, even in its natural world, Harry Potter was rejected many times. Luck is always a factor!

'Besides, I dropped out of one of the best cinematic schools in America.'

The original owner of the body has always dreamed of becoming great as a director. Therefore, even after his mother died, his father worked hard to pay for EUC's tuition.

Two months ago, his father died of alcohol poisoning, a habit he acquired due to the death of his wife, leaving Will alone in this world.

With his death, Will is alone in this world and there is no money to pay for his tuition. Although she could ask for financial help from some of her father's friends, she decided against it.

At first, the original owner worked hard to pay off the cost by doing part-time work. But he couldn't keep his job and his studies.

So in the end, he decided to come out but two days ago, his body was taken over by Will under unknown circumstances.

Sigh up!

Sighing sadly, he walked away from the campus.

'Not even a week into transmigration, I had no family, no money and dropped out of college. God bless my future.'

He did not want to face the landlord anymore, whose mouth only moved to ask for rent.

Walking aimlessly, Will inevitably thinks about his future choices.

Like other transmigrants, he was not given anything as comfortable as a cheat. He even tried a strange pose to see if he would suddenly shoot a spider web out of his hand.

But it doesn't seem like it.

Like the original owner of this body, even Will wants to become a successful director and earn enough money to live a peaceful and comfortable life.

He can still realize his dream, but his future will be much more difficult because he dropped out of school.

Unable to draw a conclusion, Will continues on aimlessly until he finds himself near a movie theater.

A large movie poster is displayed right outside. The film appears to be related to the army as the protagonist on the poster is looking at the dead bodies of his comrades.

Putting his hand in the pocket, Will found $10 money. He smiled wryly as he decided to spend the last bit of money he had on a movie he didn't know about.

A movie ticket costs $8 and she doesn't even have enough money to buy popcorn.

Sitting in a theater chair, Will watches the commercials playing before the movie starts.

The film continues with the protagonist joining the army for the first time. His enthusiasm soon died when he saw the corpses of soldiers being brought back to the army barracks.

The next story tells how the main character changes the protagonist's thinking about war, soon the character also dies.

Overall the film is quite patriotic and shows the dark side of a war. The movie ends when the audience cheers.

Will, who had never seen this film in his previous life, felt strange. Although this world does not have films and items from its native earth, it has its own history and culture that evolved over generations.

Just as Will was about to leave the theater, his head suddenly felt light for a moment as he fell back into his chair.

His head did not hurt, only it suddenly felt light as he tried to stabilize himself.

“Hey buddy, are you okay?”

He could hear a muffled voice from the man next to his seat.

"Yes I'm good. Don't worry, just dizzy for a moment.”

Will replied while still trying to regain his bearings.

“It's okay, the movie is really loud. It hit me hard too, just relax. ”

The other person said as he patted his shoulder and left as well.

The theater immediately began to empty as everyone came out one by one.

Will was already feeling fine, but the reason why he could not move from his seat was due to the shock he was feeling at the moment.

A blue transparent screen floated above his eyes as some text appeared there.

He was as helpless as he thought.
