The next day, Will wakes up early, eats breakfast and runs to the cafe where the audition will take place.
He was convinced that many aspiring actors and actresses would be there because there was no shortage of fighters in Los Angeles.
However, it will be interesting to see if any of them will come just because of the film or technique used to direct it.
Will is sure most of them will be interested in the money. After all, $15k is a reasonable amount of money for an unfamiliar face.
Her audition was at 10am, and Will arrived an hour early, but when she entered the cafe, she noticed June was already there and a middle-aged man next to her.
"Will, over here." He waved at her as he entered, and following his gaze, the middle-aged man glared at her.
"Hello June." He greeted her and turned towards the man. "Who is this?"
June sighed, looking at her agent's hostile gaze towards Will and introducing him with a helpless expression on her face.
"This is my agent, Michael Erkinson."
Will soon understood what was going on. After all, June had already told him that her agent was unhappy with her desire to do [the Blair witch project].
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Erkinson." He held his hand towards her, but all he got was grumbling in response.
"Hello. So, you are the one who has fooled June? I'm telling you now. He didn't do this movie!"
"Michael! We've already discussed this!"
"June, you have a bright future and making a movie like this will only leave a bad place on your filmography."
"I said I don't care. I really want to make this movie!"
"I know you like this guy but—"
"Shut up!"
June said with a red face, and Will didn't know if it was out of shame or just out of anger at his agent.
Shaking his head, he tried to calm him down.
"Jun, relax."
"I'm calm, Will." He said, frowning. "I'm sorry for Michael. He's like this. I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
Will said with a smile.
He doesn't feel bad about that because there will always be people who will be skeptical of movies like this, especially in this world where movies recorded with camcorders have never been a hit or even famous remotely.
"Mr Erkinson." He said, turning towards the agent, who raised his eyebrows.
"What?"
"I know you're not happy with this project, but June wants to do it. And believe me, this won't get in the way of his filmography, and I take full responsibility for that."
"What do you know?"
Michael shouted loudly, drawing attention from the other table. That's when Will played his ace.
"You work at MCA, right? Well, then, you know Benjamin Charles."
"How do you know him?"
"He's my uncle. If you have any dissatisfaction, I can contact him, and you can talk to him."
To finish, Will pulls out his phone and shows Benjamin's contact, which reads 'Uncle Charles'. Seeing this, Michael was speechless for a while.
June interrupted at that moment.
"Not only this. Will sold one of his scripts to MCA a few days ago, and it's called [17 again]. I don't think you want to argue with him, Michael."
"Well, uh ..."
Michael just lowered his head after hearing that. June is clearly not on her side, and if the man in front of her is really in touch with one of the senior agents at the MCA and is a screenwriter, it is better not to say anything rashly.
Sighing, he stood up from his seat and turned towards June.
"Do what you want. You'll understand after this movie fails."
Saying that, he stepped away. Reaching the door, he glared at Will once before leaving.
Will just smiled looking at this and sat down in front of June. He's not actually going to call Benjamin, but it's an easy way to scare Michael.
"thank you. He's a real jerk."
"I understand why you're so hard to deal with right now."
will said, and they ordered two cups of cappuccino. Just like the first time they met.
They chatted briefly about the film, and June kept asking him about the role, which Will happily answered.
After all, it meant that June was trying to give her best for this audition.
It was around 09:30 when the agents sent by SAG appeared. He was wearing a suit and glasses, but his beard was unkempt, and he didn't even comb his hair properly.
Will looks at the playboy magazine in his hand and thinks even though the world is different, some things will never change.
"Hello, my name is John Dawson. Are you the Director?"
John shook Will's hand and smiled at him.
"Yes, I'm the one."
"You're really young." He said, then curled his lips. "Let's hope this audition will work."
"Hopefully so."
Will replies, and at that moment, John's eyes drift to June, and he is very impressed by her appearance.
"Is he your girlfriend? She's so pretty."
She said, and June frantically waved her hand in denial.
"No, no. I'm just his friend and also someone who's going to audition for the role."
While saying that, he could only glance at Will and was a little disappointed when he did not see much expression. Since when did he care so much about what he thought?
John just laughed at the confused girl.
