The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 63

After the meeting with Perry was over, Perry rushed out of the office with an annoyed expression.

*Turning*

"This son of a bitch."

Jeffrey, who was sitting on the other side of the table, slammed his hand against the table as he took out a suppressed curse. Perry treated him like air throughout the meeting, but that was not the reason why Jeffrey was angry.

"The people from this ICM really think they are the boss of something. Fuck that!"

Jeffrey cursed again as he thought about how Perry had acted during the meeting. Agents from powerful agencies like ICM mostly act like this as if there is nothing to fear in this world.

"Quiet, Jeff, let him."

Will said as he chuckled, seeing Jeffrey's reaction.

*Tap*

After a knock, the door opened, and Amanda walked in with a bitter expression.

"Don't worry Will, it's okay to let Jared go. We can just find another actor."

He said as he sat on the chair in front of Will. He has a file in his hand that contains information and details about various actors for various roles.

"But the thing is, most of the actors we think are from ICM, and it's not uncommon to see ICM agents acting like tyrants, especially in front of new directors."

Amanda massaged her temple as she said that. He became so stressed out from meeting agent after agent and coping with their demands, it was fine for a side role, but there was only one main character signed up until now.

"Don't worry, Hollywood isn't short on actors. We can hire other actors, and if necessary, we can ask for help from the MCA."

will said, trying to cheer him up.

"What are we going to do about Lord Blackwood's role? It's a tough one, and not just anyone can play it."

Jeffrey said in a concerned voice. They will face a lot of problems if the ICM actually blacklists them. After all, this was Dream Vision's first project, and with the amount Will invested, it could be his last project if it turned out to be a failure.

"Don't worry too much about all this. Hollywood is not so small that we have no choice after Jared Morgan. Actually, I've been thinking about someone else, but I need to think about how to persuade her.he."

As Will searches for a suitable actor for the role of Lord Blackwood, another actor piques Will's interest because he looks like someone who can play Lord Blackwood so well. But he is the A-Lister Hollywood of this world and one of the highest paid actors.

Since he was currently on the free market, many agencies tried to persuade him to join them. But he has rejected everything for being too picky about the people he works with. Even his personality is rather unique.

He has a record of kicking out his agents left and right for various reasons, such as getting him a movie from a director he's not interested in working with.

After a moment of thought, Will said.

"Amanda, arrange a meeting with Uncle Ben for me."

In a black limousine, Will and June sit together, and the two wear expensive clothes designed by famous fashion designers.

Will was wearing a black tuxedo while June was wearing a torn black dress near her right leg, with long black gloves covering her hands, making her look even more graceful.

It's the night of the Oscars ceremony, and because Will was invited to the Oscars, he decided to go there so as not to have a big record with the Academy.

June was her friend and date that night, and she couldn't take her eyes off her. She looked absolutely phenomenal in the black dress she was wearing.

"Oh fudge, I'm nervous. But I'm so happy tonight. I can't believe I attended the Oscars."

june said excitedly as she kissed Will's cheek. She was happy all the way to the venue, and her happiness was so pure and lively that Will could not help but stare at her in a daze.

She kept telling how she could only imagine in her wildest dreams that she was attending the Oscars, and now it's come true.

Kodak Theater, Hollywood, Hollywood & Highlands

As the limousine stops at the venue, Will gets out of the car and extends his hand to escort June.

*click* *Click* *Flash*

The sound of camera clicks and flashes comes out as soon as they walk towards the red carpet.

"Akan... It's Will Evans!"

People gasped as they looked at Will. The attention of the reporter and cameraman also turned to him.

Despite the news that the Academy invited the famous rookie director, people only considered it a rumor because it was too much of a hassle.

But witnessing firsthand the arrival of the famous rookie director not only confirmed one but two rumors.

First, no matter how hard he was, he did get an invitation to the Oscars. Secondly, the rumors about her dating June Roberts, the lead actress of her first film, were also true, which clearly saw her partner that night.

Reporters began to take notes article after article, and cameramen continued to take photos as Will and June walked on the red carpet hand in hand.

An adventurous romance story between co-workers has always been an interesting and thrilling topic among the younger generation especially when the story is about someone as young as them.

As June and Will appear together, this basically confirms their relationship and makes it somewhat official.

It wasn't just Will and June who came as famous celebrities in front and behind them.

"Woah, I can't believe I'm right behind Scarlett McJohn."

June said as she looked around excitedly.

"Yes, ..I don't believe it either.."

Will replied in a somewhat daze. She couldn't believe Scarlett Johansson was right in front of her. No, she's Scarlet McJohn, at least in this world. Another celebrity from his world had appeared right in front of him, but he did not seem as helpless as the RDJ.

As Will thinks that almost all of the reporter's attention has been diverted to the two, June becomes nervous seeing all of that attention and tightens her grip on Will's hand.

Although they did not have to face the situation for too long upon entering the venue, they were guided towards their seats and ended up sitting down.

"Excellent night, gentlemen and not 'woman gentlemen."

The host, Kellen Reeves, finally started the show. She is a famous comedian and actress.

"Thank you so much for coming. For those of you watching in your homes, it's been a difficult few days here," Kellen said with a pause, she continued, "Rain is up."

Everybody laughs at that.

"We're fine; thank you for your prayers."

Kellen said in her always sarcastic voice, making everyone laugh again.

Then he continued as he introduced famous people in a seductive manner.

"And, to top it all off, we have a new face here."

The camera shot towards Will as he said.

"Will Evans, of course, didn't get a nomination with his homemade video, but viola, he managed to get an invitation. No lie, I'm surprised."

Kellen introduces Will, in the same mocking manner as she introduces others, and everyone laughs again. Will only smiled lightly as the camera pointed towards him.

"So we're all here to celebrate and reward the movies and the people who performed so well in those movies. People all over the world go through difficult times in one way or another, and I'm not saying that movies have helped them or were important in life ... But they are an escape from reality for them at least."

Kellen said in a grim voice as she continued, "Of course, the most important thing in life is love, and family, and friends, and.... The one who doesn't have this goes into the entertainment world."

Everybody laughs at that.

Will and June just chat about things and laugh at the host's jokes from time to time. After a while, the award division finally began.

They start with technical awards like best editor and cinematographer. Will watches over the nominated and those who win just in case he tries to tie them up in his studio.

Slowly, more important rewards began to come out.

The award for Best Original Score goes to [Enchanted World], a musical based in medieval Europe.

Best Supporting Role was achieved by Darcy Collins, and Best Supporting Role was achieved by Irfan Rahman, an Indian Muslim actor who has been in Hollywood for 20 years.

Will has watched both of their films and is quite impressed with their performances. But he is more interested in knowing the winners of three of the five major awards.

Soon, she got her answer when the nominations for best actor and actress came out.

The award for best actress was given to Emily White, who played a deaf gymnast in the film [Black], and the award for best actor was given to Jack Crawley, yang has played the role of Bard in the film [Enchanted World].

The film managed to scoop two awards in a row, and what surprised everyone was the awards that came later.

The Best Director award was given to Walden Ardolf, director of the [Enchanted World] film. This film managed to reap 3 main awards and became one of the films that made people gape.

Will, who hadn't even seen the film, was still in shock. He wanted to immediately get out of his function and immediately watch this film.

'I wonder what level of direction this Director is in accordance with the System requirements.'
